You're right. The time I was active reppin the GD's I created my own ways running my click and my mentality was similar to the mobs ways. We wouldn't always pull up on rivals. I would sit down with high ranking rivals and earn together. The police went easy on us when we were caught because they watched me and new what I was doing.

What's the politics of jail like. Not the fighting, but how are issues resolved diplomatically like votes and alliances.
Usually the shot callers of the group has to approve any negotiations that happen to solve a disagreement but they do have "diplomats" to go to the disagreeing group and figure things out and bring the proposal to the shot caller
Most problems are solve with penises and buttholes.

The Italian Mafia arent as big as they used to be, or rather maybe they are just better at keeping out of the newspapaers and not getting caught than they used to be ! The old days of respectful guys wearing suits who wouldnt beat up women or children and respected family members who wouldn't run in the scene are long gone.

Question: How is doing favours for other prisoners viewed? You said you helped others with legal stuff and writing down their stories etc, is this not seen as a sign of weakness somewhat where they can then force you to do other shit like clean toilets? Just wondering

@@keegan112099 yes, people who help you with your legal issues are generally liked because you know they need those guys and want them to keep helping, also to not get exploited you just charge a small fee for a letter or anything like that

I like the Italians, as an Irishman who left Ireland in 1988 and came to the U,S, i found them honourable men who i could trust. I think they understood that Irish Republicans were no threat to them and i have fond memorys and i remember they were always smiling at the situation we all found ourselves in. Although we disliked criminals, i had respect for the men i came across.

Hi Shaun, you say that marco had a butler. Was this guy getting exploited or was he doing it for another reason, like for protection etc?
It’s normal in the Italian-American Cosa Nostra that more junior guys are assigned to run errands for and look after more senior guys. It is not considered a sign of disrespect though - it is a normal part of working your way up the ranks. If anything, it means you get close to the captain or boss, so it can actually mean you gain power. You see it in mob movies all the time. It’s also how it worked in medieval European nobility - if a lord could get himself into the position that he was running errands for the king, he was doing pretty well. Good things would follow.
