How often do you swap battery? Battery backup and charging speed have become so good you don't need to do that..... After 2 or 3 years when you need replacement you just need to to unscrew a few screws... That takes like a minute or 2... But with swapable back panel you don't need case.. Thats i love about CMF

Nothing is actually bringing nothing to the table. Yet another marketing trick.
OnePlus was putting customer first with decent hardware with customer aligned software while Nothing is projecting to bring customer aligned hardware without really doing so, as you rightly pointed out by mentioning headphone jack, user removable batteries.

I have to disagree. Nothing is about fast fluid performance with great battery life powered by a well tuned chipset, all in a uniquely designed package for reasonable prices. They did exactly that with a transparent design, 120hz display, 10 hours+ of SOT on their latest phones, consistent updates every month, and more. While I was bored of the Phone 1, the Phone 2 has been a completely different story with its redesigned and incredibly refined NothingOS. The phone doesnt ever break a sweat. The cameras are much improved from Phone 1, especially since they overhauled the camera, more glyph support (with more to come) and more. I seriously can't put this phone down and also can't wait to see what innovations come with the AI based Phone 3. Ear 2 has been absolutely great for me as well, with good bass and treble as well as solid noise cancellation!

I have since ditched flagships. I've had numerous Galaxy Ultras and Z Folds. Great products for sure, but for my needs I realized over time they are overpowered for what I like to do. I have since got the Nothing Phone 2A and have been pleased with it. I'm having great battery life, a nice OLED display and my my favorite thing so far is the software. Sure it's not as customizable as One UI, but the minimalistic approach and theme of Nothing is such a pleasure to use. Although yeah the glyphs are useful at times but it still feels underbaked and gimmicky.

100% agree about Nothing and CMF. I appreciate their design language and the collaboration with teenage engineering, but as mentioned my problem is these phones don't really go much beyond style. There's nothing really to distinguish them outside of looks and if anything I would rather see the specs improved or have something unique to them outside of what the other companies are offering. Take the nothing phone 2 for example, outside of its looks what is there to make people buy one over say a google pixel 8/8a? Which you can get for the same price now? Nothing except on a pixel you will get very useful distinguishing features like incredible cameras and long updates. Also there are other Snapdragon 8+ gen 1 phones that are available on the market that offer more for the same price. I would rather see nothing go against the grain and make a small phone for example or put an amazing DAC in the phone for audio enthusiasts just something that can distinguish them outside of style.

headphone jack and expandable storage should be standard in devices across all price ranges but then companies won't be able to sell you their wireless headphones and extra storage variants, that's precisely the reason they won't change. It's not a consumer focused brand but a profit focused that is why customers will continue to have to pay extra than required

I'm thinking about grabbing the new Redmagic 9 Pro S this week, but I'm not a huge gamer. So I'm having doubts. Besides, I actually really like the 2 that I have now. Sure, it's a little gimmicky, but it's also really fun. But on the other side, Nothing OS runs really good so hats off in the OS department unlike OnePlus where they literally gone downhill. I myself own a OnePlus 12 and with those specs, the old Oxygen OS would've killed the market, I wonder what they were thinking. On the sidenote Nothings Ear 2 are great. Again Battery life is not that great and there are issues with Bluetooth connectivity here and there. But the sound quality is just awesome as well as the call quality.
