    i have used the xr18 many times and i love the fact that it has the option to record 18 in-outs
    most of the time we have used this digital mixer and powered speakers to sing on the road... it makes more room under the bus for extra gear and equipment... i am trying to get our church now to upgrade to this soon..... you have explained this well brother. love your voice! i bet you can sing great as well! if your ever in georgia look us up and come by and see us! we are a small church under 100 on any service .. God bless you brother and keep up the Good work for his namesake

    Correction keyboards and acoustic electric guitars are not normally High Z these types of instruments are line level and can be used in any input on the XR 18 using a 1/4” instrument cables, an acoustic electric guitar that uses a battery has a pre amp and is line level, an standard electric guitar has a passive pick ups with no pre amp and needs a hi z input. Also with some electric guitars have grounding issues and really needs a DI with a ground lift to remove buzzing and noise, so even though the XR 18 has hi Z inputs it really best to use a DI!

    In these days to be relevant, in the Christian churches, you need everything to great the message across. Then the pastor can get on with little or no sound issues to preach the word. And preaching the word is what it is all about. Excellent review.
    About people fiddling with the sound equipment, training is off the essence. A sound person for each group would be a great idea. Set up training sessions for each congregation for those who wish to learn the basics just to get the service, or the prayer group started.

    Great review!
    Been using this mixer for a few years in a small church and love it.
    Moved from a larger analog board and can't say how much easier this is. I play guitar on the worship team and run sound; this board made my life so much easier! I will say that an external router is a must. I think I spent about $50-60? on one and it made a big difference in connectivity.

      I'm amazed over the years what extras they pack into the new units and then make them smaller. I thought I was great just using the old Tandy systems. Then Peavey and other companies started making 'bricks' for bands. Then 'desks' came on the market at cheaper prices...some of which just about needed a forklift to move around...lol...now a 24 track is reduced to nothing in size, and still has the same quality as the same size as the larger ones.

    Can you tell me if you could use rodemaster pro2 as a mixer in church? We only use wireless and podium mic and iPad to play hyms.... We also stream to Facebook and record to TH-cam.... Or use the XR12?
    Or buy both and use together?
    We record video and audio for church service but afternoon study we will record just audio alone.... Thank You for your opinion

    Hi
    Do you think this system could run 4-6 in ear monitor transmitters, front house speakers, 2 bass subwoofers, guitar, piano, bass, drums with about 8 microphones, 3 singers and an extra mic for the worship leader?
    I’m looking for a new portable digital mixer ?
    Also, if I needed more channels and aux outs for more in ear channels, could I connect an xr8 or 12 and run them together ?
    New sub :)

      You can use the ultranet to run a P16 instead, that is more what you are looking for if you want in ear at it's best, and yes, you can do all the stuff you asked about the front of house and subs.
      As long as you keep your setup to the 16 mic pres, then yes you will be able to do your band.
      And no, you cannot use the other XR mixers to have additional inputs for the XR18.

    Also, can you plug in P-16 personal mixers to XR16 or is it only the XR18?

    Do you need wifi to use these digital mixers?

    Thanks for the info on the mixer. Being a long time sound guy and church member I don't think the pastor should over step the sound guy and control the sound. If this is the case, a proper communication needs to take place. I am surprised that you would suggest this being a pastor of two churches. This is not the way to build a team.

      As a pastor, I understand your statement. But with no dedicated sound person, I have to set it and forget it and only know it was wrong when worship is over and I review recordings or it screams at me. I love the idea of being able to control from the front. I would love to have a sound guy. I am lucky to get someone to change the slides. LOL

      Obviously you don't understand as a pastor. People are our ministry. If you don't have anyone, then you are forced to do things however you can. Once you involve people it is a whole new ball game.
      I don't think you understand TH-cam either. Things that you say remain. I think you abused the influence that you have.

    Hey, quick question, if you want to run through personal monitors, do they have to be Behringer P-16? For example, can I use Aviom A-16?

    • @leeknivek
      @leeknivek 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      you can use whatever you want for monitors, powered or unpowered, behringer or homemade.

    • @geraldcampbell6834
      @geraldcampbell6834 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nana Mensah no Aviom is a different standard you have to use the Behringer stuff that uses the Ultranet standard!

    Behringer are famous for. NOT updating their apps. So new iPad OS / new version android - your mixer won’t work and it will never work again.

      We got around this by keeping the iPad off the internet. No auto-updates and it stays working fine.

    • @glennsohm6643

      Or you can switch to Android or use a PC.
