I really wish more people get to listen to the TS A75 and thanks for this review which sets a good expectation for what to expect. Hmm..I really should make a cup coaster, along with my Galion Instant noodle!
@@devinwilliams4851 I did mention to some of my subscribers that I have another amp developed that might be better for Maggies. Not that it is stronger in power, about the same power, but that one is a smoother amp and might be a better match for some Maggies because Maggies are quite transparent. I also developed a 150w amp but that one is in the garbage because it was too bright.
I LOVE my Gallion TS A75! I went through so many power amps until this one and it is as advertised. I do hope Thomas comes out with a beast one that is twice the power as this one. It is lovely, best purchase I've made in a long time.
Thomas does the work. He does the correct work to resource quality components for his builds. The TS A 75 comes up in many reviews. It is interesting how many capacitance he uses in this amplifier. If you look at the CHoco sound Emei, it has far less by a surprising amount.
I would have liked to see no white print on the front .. at all. Just keep it totally clean. I mean, the look of the amp is different enough that we don't need to see the model as obvious.. looking at it .. we know it's not the TS120. A great video - talking points and views. Man, .. I gotta get better with B-roll additions. =) Solid Gear.. Kudos to Thomas!! Looking forward to a chance to hear these some days.
Although I am not a big fan of Thomas, this amp has everything one can want in a power amp in terms of design and layout. 75W is plenty. It is the quality of Watt that drives our emotions.
Great review! I agree on the aesthetics front - they are very important to me as well. The white lettering is very unappealing to me, so I appreciate you calling it out as no one else seems to have pointed it out in other reviews. It’s too bad, as it seriously detracts from the otherwise good looking casework.
This amp is the real deal and will compete with way more expensive amps. I believe you discovered that, and probably hard to admit given its price point. I’ve tried it and will embarrass many amplifiers.
I completely AGREE with the white font …. Maybe there is a stencil hack wherein we can remove old and slap On new ! DIY … Other than that , I love the amp. It deserves more press
Good straight to the point review. Maybe the s on the box is for a silver case amp? If it is a special edition maybe he will offer one with different capacitors. Seen on his channel he tasted a ton
Hard to imagine being made in Canada with this quality and price. China when it comes to hifi has some of the most advanced manufacturing capabilities. There are a lot of companies that build their products in China and then only do final assembly in their operating country.
Haven't heard the amp, but by gosh I intend to. That said: wanna complain about the logo? Not lined up? throwing you into OCD mode? heh heh, well,...let me tell ya what you gotta do. Go ahead and line up those 'sails' in a straight line. ... Done? ... see how off it looks when you do that? Thats a No-go. The logo is correct in whatever aspects it shoud be. I've sailed on rigged ships, and I have owned a sign company. I've scrutinized that logo same as you. From a human perspective: it's proper. Weird thing to mention, but there it is. Probably going to buy one of these just to see how they stack up against my monoblocks Vidar and Schiit system (with Dirac) and good room treatments. And if it's that intriguing I'll buy the TL line Voyager and see how they go against my DIY GR-Research XL's woth all the bells and whistles. I'm not a gear head. I love music. Lets see what happens. Good luck to you!!
Five yrs from now, nobody will remember this amp.. I'm still waiting for that one piece of groundbreaking gear, that will completely turn the whole industry upside down.. This isn't it, I'm sorry.. And yes, I've listened to it.

Im really considering this amp, but somtimes feel that i should wait for your amp for maggies

Nice Job ' TS-A75 is overly built not just for sound but relability 😊
I have B&W 802D I’m looking to buy a Macintosh but is this amp plus to my 802D than the Mac?
Mac will likely be more mellow and smooth. This will be more analytical
I totally agree with you on the aesthetics.

How about paired with Warfedale Lintons?
That sounds like a good combo!

Only time will tell 🙂
Power amp what preampiler recommend?
I used the benchmark LA4. I would think Hegel as well as mcintosh preamps would do well with the A75
The things that bother you are so trivial that it makes me wonder about the first time that I’m watching your TH-cam channel.
Thanks for watching
What’s the damping factor?
100
Thomas why is it made in China and why only a one year warranty

It looks very well built. Saying that I find both the name and web page imagery of sea and ships for the product somewhat odd and misplaced. Still …

Nope! We just heard similar things
If you want true neutrality just buy anything from Benchmark
I assume this is a class AB amp
Correct
@@HiFiTurtle why is it call A75 then? it should called AB75
Good point but the A is just for amplifier.
I went to Thomas Site, and watched the video on his Class A amp build. Very nicely built amps.

You can't evaluate an amplifier with your ears, unless it is pure garbage
Don't worry I evaluate with my feet
