Yeah it's pretty awesome, right? It's actually a marketplace asset by AleksandrIvanov www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/en-US/product/stylized-snowy-landscape For now I just used it as it is, but will eventually re-arrange some things and create a full level from it.
Thank you for making this video. I’m also making a beatemup in UE4 using PaperZD. Seeing how you are implementing things really makes me want to retool some of my methods. Looking forward to future videos and the tutorials you mentioned.
Thank you, I'm glad the video is helpful! In case you are sharing your progress on twitter or another platform, let me know. I'd definitely be interested in seeing how your game turns out!
This type of attack/combo/conditional moves seems like a good candidate for a Finite State Machine. It controls the flow between moves, allows for different independent behaviors, and avoids the chain of 'if's you would need to use otherwise.
Hey, yeah I do have plans to get back into it. I needed to take a break because I also wanted to explore other video formats, but now that paper ZD has been updated to UE5 it gives me a great reason to go back and update the project.
Thank you! RPGs aren't really something I'm that knowledgeable of, so for the time being I'll probably stick to making tutorials about action games and platformers :)
really love how this is coming together. The process of building from scratch is fascinating!
Thank you!
Yeah, even for a simple genre like this, there are so many things you need to focus on one by one!

Awesome, it progress well, control the movement and transfer between animation is one of the hardest part in dev, well done.

Thank you for the suggestion, I will look more into that!
Are you going to do more devlog videos? I just finished all your older devlogs videos.
