When I saw the bumblebees I remembered about how they actually unhinge their wings in the cold mornings and that helps them heat their bodies so that they can pollinate the flowers way before the other bees...I saw this on nature ...very interesting ...you have such a wonderful show...thank you for sharing

My garden is all about deer resistance. Finally we have a garden not suited to their taste. We grow lots of Walkers Low catmint, spirea, coneflowers, Russian sage, Penstemmon, Agastache varieties (love the lime one) black eyed Susan, Veronica, buddlia, blue geranium and thyme. We fought the battle for ten years until we got it right! We adjoin state gamelands. Thank you for the tour.....just breathtaking!

I think I might just do the whole veggie garden in Russian Sage. 😃. I added it to the four corners of the veggies, but I might not be able to control myself. I can just see it now..a couple vitex in the middle, Russian Sage, lavender and catmint all around the rest of it! The bees will LOVE me! I can just put the veggies in pots. I did peppers and some tomatoes and peas in big containers this year and honestly, I think they love it. They are just thriving. Thanks, Allen, for all the incredible inspiration. My husband thanks you too. 😉😉

I purchased a mystic spires because of you. And I just took out a Mexican sage. They get too big in zone 9. Considering taking out the Powis Castle because of size. People need to pay attention to mature size of plants if planting space is not big.

Another beautiful tour, thank you! I love the blues and purples with silvery green. I planted three salvias in my front garden and the new spires are no longer purple, they sort of just stay yellowy/green. They get full sun and I live in zone 7a. Might they need a more rigorous watering regimen? I would appreciate advice in how to support these lovely purple plants. Thank you!
