I have come to canada through study permit. Things i can share as per my experience 1. Education in india is much better than canada. I was from a decent college in india, forget about about IIT and IIM. 2. Medical is free in canada but there is shortage of medical staff. People dont get appointments easily for their surgery and even in case of emergency they dont take things seriously. In india you can get immediate medical support. Although you have to pay money but you can cover it under insurance. 3. Transportation in india is cheap and better. It is difficult to rely on public transportation in canada. You will require a car for sure. 4. Winter ofcourse is not so easy to manage, every place in Canada is not like Vancouver or toronto. It really gets tough when temperature hits -35. 5. In the last whats the benefit og fresh air when you are gonna sit at your home most of the time in winter due to cold weather. (I am not an indoor person. I like outdoor activities)

I have 8 months saved up for bills and an emergency fund set aside for repairs. I did just buy a house and was able to get it for 8%. It was on the higher end of my budget but I have a few extra hundred to put away each month for repairs. The home is turnkey but I know expenses will come down the road which I'll be prepared for. Hypothetically speaking, given the worst case scenario and layoffs start happening; can my emergency fund be in good use to invest and linked to our mortgage to increase interest overtime? rather than defaulting on mortgage Is that a feasible way to pivot?
Nice Aaron, online It appears margaret is well established in the financial field. Would her advisory give access to more interest to offset my mortgage overtime?
that's the only way to become debt free. I've already paid off two previous mortgages. Now I'm working on my third and I cannot wait since it has to happen before retirement in four years
Hi I want to correct the amount of rent for 2 bedroom...in rental building which are not ideal the rent that we got in October 2020 for 2 bedroom was 2250$ and if you rent a condo it's 2500$...I know because we moved recently so the rents are increased. The basement goes for 1600 plus 30% utilities.
GTA housing market is crazy. So is the case in Vancouver and Montreal. I regret moving to Canada when I could have moved to US via study visa. Income to expense ratio is extremely high, higher that cities in fking California like San Jose. And this I am telling you of small city like waterloo. Forget big cities. Low salaries, high income taxes will end up shortening your savings to the point that you will spend most of your adult working life paying it off. Been here for some time and definitely not worth it if you earn decent in India. Living in Canada is tough even for people who get field jobs, forget those who end up with blue collar jobs.
Well said Rohan, People don't realise how expensive owning a car is in Canada. Mental health problems have broken all records, people are super lonely. You can earn good money here and even save it but overall in so many things India has closed the gap.
@@akshayjasrotia40 exactly bro, This is what I have observed from last 5 years. The things are look easier only in such videos and blogs. I’m going back to India at the end of this year as I can differentiate both the countries that where we can live peacefully.
My friend moved to Canada , since last 2 years. He is very happy and he was fed up with working in Mumbai , He is doing well and never want to come back ,
India is not that Bad,couple !! Insurance : If you are a employee its already covered in India Education: Yes I agree on that. Food and Climate: India is far better in that regards than rest of the world, period... Family and Friends/Parties: You will definitely miss them Outside India
Tbh most of the insurance and financial security benefits she was raving about are already available in India. Health insurance, pf, pension on retirement, gratuity, leave encashment, etc. They are motivated to research all these in Canada but no one is bothered to learn these things in India. Healthcare is free there for a reason, the population is small and the taxes are high. I have read a lot of Canadian citizens crying about bad healthcare in Canada, it is so bad that they don't treat the patients well.
My opinion: If you have a good stable job in India then Canada is not going to be amazing for you. If you are struggling in India then Canada is great. After 15 years of living here you will get very disconnected from India and your relatives. You will get busier and busier and will not even have 30 minutes for yourself. There will be no option to return at that time as you would have no roots in India Once you come here, Its very difficult to return. Good to see the confidence of this couple. Best of luck to them and hope they succeed further
I was keen optimistic to travel to Canada, I tried all I could to get a Canada visa I failed for three years, A medical doctor based in Canada referred me to Mr Ethan Lucas and his team really guided me through and I migrated to Canada in 2021 successfully at affordable cost.
U didn't tell about child benefit allowance. U didn't tell about long queues just for a normal medical check up. And not to forget hefty car insurance. And most benefits after 60 only.
1.2 % annual interest for House. Bahot accha hai yaar. Savings ki zaroorat zyada hogi hi nahi kyon ki schooling and medicals are also free so savings are automatically done. Amazing yaar..nice information shared by you. Thanks.
It’s not as rosy as you think. You need to look at the salary you will make as a household in India vs Canada. Look at your monthly expenditure and figure out savings after taxes and expenses. Once you do that, you will probably realize that you save just as much or more in India. Salaries in metro cities in India are really good. Except for Mumbai, housing is not that expensive either. If you rent in the Toronto area for a family of 2-3 you are looking at a minimum of 4.5-5k of living costs. This does not include a lot of eating out and vacation time. If you buy a home then please add another 2.5-3k to that. So close to 90k a year in survival. That means about 150k pre tax. Anything you want to save has to be over and above. Also, don’t forget the time it takes to save up for a house downpayment (100k at least). Your home mortgage will be for 25-30 years. That’s basically your entire working life if you’re moving in your mid 20s. So it’s not very rosy in Toronto and Vancouver. Some other cities might still be okay.
@@shivammahajan9051 a person making 100k in Canada would make roughly 20-25L in India. You will pay approx 900k for a 2 bhk in GTA which is 9x the gross salary. You could get a 2bhk in Bangalore for around 75L which is 3x the gross salary. Simple math.

Nice Video very Honest ! People who make easy money elsewhere outside canada when they move to canada they will have strong headwinds like weather, inflation , do everything yourself … be prepared for all that and eventually you can settle if you work hard and mind your business .. Canada is no cakewalk and not for everybody you need solid command of the english language , strong will power . thick skin to do chores you never have done especially if people have tons of servants in their home country , you have to deliver in your workplace . you have to learn to be smart with your taxes and deductions . it’s not easy but may be for people in the middle to lower income when u come to canada after a few initial years of struggle u can get settled .. it depends how you manage those initial years and forget traveling to india every year especially if u are in provinces like albera, NB probably 3-4 flights over 2-3 days ! Understand what u can manage and make the move, was in canada for a few years gave up my PR because opportunities were limited and pay was low but as soon as i got an opportunity to move to the Great USA i took it great country tons of opportunities and much much much higher salaries than Canada
Jinko Canada expensive lagta hai send them to Australia for 2-3 months. 2 bedroom apartment ka rent $4000 hai. For buying it costs $2million. Mortgage Interest rates 3.5 - 4%
So I concluded, Canada is not worth it for me. India is much better option in my view , if you are going there for just "FREE" things definitely not worth it.

There is NPS/CPP and employment insurance in india as well. No one buys them that's the issue. It is nothing which is different I would say as a special benefit.
Try to understand 1) If you are looking For salary and saving Move to UAE 2) if you are looking for comfortable lifestyle and having a passive income than EUROPE IS FOR YOU 3) if you are looking for PR than CANADA , AUSTRALIA and Newzeland is FOR YOU

Unless and until you are a white skinned person you shall never be wholeheartedly accepted by any if these countries. Choose the country which accepts your ethnicity, race and religion.
Loved the vlog as always! However, the only thing which I disagree with is, I am here in Canada for 3+ years along with many other similar ppl I know, our earnings are limited here (with only 1 person working in the family) If you go by the basic earning rule $15/hr or even with $20/hr.. It is near to impossible in order to buy a house or condo anywhere in Canada right now :( It looks like a BIG SCAM happening in GTA market how thousands of ppl/new immigrants are buying $1.5+ million houses (even if they multiply their household salaries/2 ppl earning more than 70k+ each to buy a $1.5 million house)?? All other cities/provinces are also chasing the same goal as well. The majority of houses are getting sold in about a week or so, who are these buyers with $400k+ salaries??? This housing bubble is truly disgusting here guys, be careful before you
Canada offers pretty much same salary (only for good software devs ) compared to India [PPP basis] after taxes and with the extreme weather it is not feasible for software devs. For other profession (and WITCH based IT folks ) it is mostly worth it to move to Canada. Many Good devs ik move to Canada just for getting a TN-1 visa and move to the states. So in short it makes sense to move to states in the long run.
Desi people , Pakistani Indian etc ...they need to understand that the housing market in North America is a different ball game. It's not like real estate in India and Pakistan where prices keep going up. It can go down way down and it's hard to believe that within 10-12 years, people have completely forgotten 2007-2008 crisis. Any assest that goes up based upon speculations ends up pretty badly. So avoid nonsensical approach. And about Interest rate, the fed USA goona increase atleast 5-7 hikes. Problem is that desi awam don't read and they have herd follow mentality. This 5% approach of getting home, those goona rip apart as low interest won't last. That era is going to end up soon. 2022-2023 banks going to increase hikes gradually. So don't be stupid and later blame Canada when got caught in the middle of fire. The fed is way to behind inflation curve and they are so scared that if they go with big rate hike, they risk recession. If they go with low hike, they goona turn inflation out of control into hyperinflation. The stock market has already seen correction and in Jan,2022, the Dow dropped 1000 point in a single day and gain again 1000 point on same day. This is a sign of very high volatility and stock market reacts first with interest rate hike. There will be a correction in housing market in end of 2022 when gradual rates hikes will be on the way and 2024 will also see 2-3 0.25 bps rate hikes. Stop this speculations nonsensical approach.

America , or the area I live in is very safe. I have much lower taxes and higher salary and I have alot of friends who are immigrants who feel the same way.. Love you guys though.
About the housing, I think you guys touched on a great point - Canada is not just Toronto & GTA. It is a kind of myth that some Indians have spread as they compare Brampton/GTA/Toronto as Canada like how Dubai is considered instead of all of UAE. Canada, though has less big & medium sized cities than the US, has a lot of safe & lovely cities to stay in Ontario and in other provinces. Example - a childhood friend of mine, Goan by birth, has settled in Gatineau, Quebec near Ottawa. He & his family are extremely happy there and they have lot of things to do in that city.

I think you do need decent savings or a good amount of private pension. What you get from old age pension and CPP is usually not enough at old age. And things will get worse in 25 years
Not sure, I bought a condo in Cambridge at 2.6% now I am paying all my salary in the mortgage at 5.8%. Amortisation is 29 years and I will be paying around 200k in interest and 50k towards principal. So it’s just like the old Lala ji, you keep paying throughout your life but the they still own the principal
I was keen to buy house in GTA area which is next to impossible. I was looking at house listing starting $1.2 million. Since job opportunities are mostly in GTA so can't think to move away and increase travel time.
Good info but few comments 1: you talked about 5% down payment ..but now days almost all the house are above million in or near gta where you need to pay 20%..so how 5% applies here 2: yes healthcare is covered but you pay ei component from your salary which is not around $1000 per year plus you need rider insurance to cover rest of the things which will cost $1500 per yr..not bad but it is not “free”

Wow, great salesman both husband and wife. Even PM Trudeau, ex drama teacher must be rolling his eyes in disbelief. The reality is Canada is becoming very expensive to live for most average Canadians with high taxes, housing, inflation. But the good side is if have patience, discipline then this is the best country to be in. Otherwise with bitter cold weather ( gloomy winter months), bills ( credit card, car payment, line of credits, utilities, mortgage), lack of job security ( try surviving on Employment Insurance) as these salesman say is very tough. Outside the GTA & Toronto is not heaven but is rough due to Canadian landscape. Try visiting Northern Ontario. Living in Quebec? You need to learn French. The east coast of Canada like Nova Scotia, PEI , NB is not most peoples cup of tea. BC is way way way too expensive. Alberta ,Saskatchewan, Manitoba Is okay if you can tolerate bitter cold and snow. Best way to come to Canada is like Afghani refugees, Syrian refugees. You bring nothing to the table and get all from the almighty Queen a free royal feast! Long live Emperor Trudeau!!

I am coming to BC in fall intake. Thanks for making the content. question - Canada's healthcare quality is one of the best in the world but the system is very burdened - not enough doctors and nurses and equipment. Why ? because cause insurance companies do not allow outside international doctors to work in Canadian hospitals -- unless it is a life-threatening illness that needs immediate attention or surgery long queues are part of Canadian healthcare. In your experience, is this true?
In my experience, India's medical facility is better than Canada. hospital access is not as easy as you get in India. You need to take appointments to consult and for the treatment where in you have to wait for days to get one. But in India you have well know doctors are all over the city and will get you easy access. At least by influence you will get access in worst case.
In India a decent school charges 15000 RS per month??? Wow which school are you talking about. Those are handful only in metro cities. This figure is grossly misleading

4. Winter ofcourse is not so easy to manage, every place in Canada is not like Vancouver or toronto. It really gets tough when temperature hits -35.

Hypothetically speaking, given the worst case scenario and layoffs start happening; can my emergency fund be in good use to invest and linked to our mortgage to increase interest overtime? rather than defaulting on mortgage
Is that a feasible way to pivot?
Nice Aaron, online It appears margaret is well established in the financial field. Would her advisory give access to more interest to offset my mortgage overtime?
that's the only way to become debt free. I've already paid off two previous mortgages. Now I'm working on my third and I cannot wait since it has to happen before retirement in four years

Thanks for sharing Sir
Yes i also say the same thing ..... But people think I am fool .. they think going and settling abroad will make them rich
Well said Rohan, People don't realise how expensive owning a car is in Canada. Mental health problems have broken all records, people are super lonely. You can earn good money here and even save it but overall in so many things India has closed the gap.

My opinion:
If you have a good stable job in India then Canada is not going to be amazing for you. If you are struggling in India then Canada is great. After 15 years of living here you will get very disconnected from India and your relatives. You will get busier and busier and will not even have 30 minutes for yourself. There will be no option to return at that time as you would have no roots in India
Once you come here, Its very difficult to return.
Good to see the confidence of this couple. Best of luck to them and hope they succeed further

Buying house isnt easy in india either...try it..you will have to work 25 years even in india to pay off the emi.

Canada is a stepping stone, get a PR/Citizenship then move to the USA.

Exactly .
You can NOT just move to the US
Desi people , Pakistani Indian etc ...they need to understand that the housing market in North America is a different ball game.
Stop this speculations nonsensical approach.
yr predicted right 👌

About the housing, I think you guys touched on a great point - Canada is not just Toronto & GTA. It is a kind of myth that some Indians have spread as they compare Brampton/GTA/Toronto as Canada like how Dubai is considered instead of all of UAE. Canada, though has less big & medium sized cities than the US, has a lot of safe & lovely cities to stay in Ontario and in other provinces. Example - a childhood friend of mine, Goan by birth, has settled in Gatineau, Quebec near Ottawa. He & his family are extremely happy there and they have lot of things to do in that city.
What a really life motivated and re thinking

1: you talked about 5% down payment ..but now days almost all the house are above million in or near gta where you need to pay 20%..so how 5% applies here
2: yes healthcare is covered but you pay ei component from your salary which is not around $1000 per year plus you need rider insurance to cover rest of the things which will cost $1500 per yr..not bad but it is not “free”
only 1 percent home loan interest rate is good

What do u think of Montreal ? I want to get into capital markets and my wife wants to get into retail luxury jobs . I know basic French . Reason for choosing Montreal - I love Europe ; less real estate cost ; know basic French ( A1 level ) .
Wow!😃 Thanks, I really needed this. A week ago i got my PPR and i was kind of depressed. I had waited for it since 2019 and post covid had started doubting my original plan to move to Canada. Today, you guys have re-convinced me. Am gonna show it to my parents tomorrow. I am hopeful, it will cheer them up too. Best wishes from India! Hope to meet you guys some day.🙏🏻
@@soulsbourne Woah! If i had that kind of offer, i would have shelved my plan to goto Canada. A very very difficult decision for you indeed. So my guess is, you wanna shift not for money but for higher quality of life?
@@soulsbourne Good thinking....i thought on the same lines too. I am 32, unmarried and a single child. Parents are getting old and have developed several diseases. We live in Gurgaon (gas chamber). I have very few years(10 years)to experience a foreign country. Need to get a job and then get married ASAP (within 2 years). Need to think about future generation and be in India with parents when they cross 70. The pressure to live and live well is immense 🤪.
@@soulsbourne my humble request if u have such a package in India please don't go. U will regret I was in Canada from 2003 to 2009 its very tough life
Bhai many of these things from this are misleading.
@@mukeshsachdev8307 i understand, not everything is so rosy but there must be some truth to it and conditions apply on the rest. What do you think?
How can I give more than one thumbs up? You guys are sharing absolutely valuable information... I have watched only two of your videos and I am your fan... I have two kids one is in Canada and other will be reaching soon... Best of luck! 👍🏼💐
Thank u..your comment is worth 1000 thumbs up for us 😄
I am coming to BC in fall intake. Thanks for making the content.
question -
Canada's healthcare quality is one of the best in the world but the system is very burdened -
not enough doctors and nurses and equipment. Why ? because cause insurance companies do not allow outside international doctors to work in Canadian hospitals -- unless it is a life-threatening illness that needs immediate attention or surgery long queues are part of Canadian healthcare.
Disgusting healthcare system
Interest rate is for the whole year, not 1 month. What does that mean? 🤔🤔
1.2% per annum. That's what I meant.
In India a decent school charges 15000 RS per month??? Wow which school are you talking about. Those are handful only in metro cities.
This figure is grossly misleading
You both are so positive,God bless you both...thank you so much for this honest reviews
You might wanna put a caveat on your comments about CPP and OAS. There is a clawback provision on OAS if you CPP crosses more than 75k. Just a suggestion.
Very nice..My daughter is coming canada next month
Thanks Shilpa...Good and motivated vlog
thank you for giving positive insights.
Hi Shilpa, thank you very much for a super positive video.
1) To all those who are posting negative comments below, please do some more research instead of misguiding new comers to Canada.
2) As someone who is living in Germany for 5 years and soon move to Canada, I can tell new comers to Canada that don't get disappointed on negative TH-cam videos. Do some more research and try to follow those TH-camrs who are telling you solutions of your problems and not those negative people who only discourage students and new comers.
3) My wife is a Canadian citizens and lived in Canada all her life so I can tell new comers through her experiences that life in Canada is good enough to take risks. At the end, life is not a bed of roses. What we can do is just try do our best and help others, too; so that everybody can move forward and enjoy life.
Warm regards to Shilpa and her family.
May Bhagwan protect you always.

Thank u so much Farhan…Infact people with negative mindset can find negativity anywhere and everywhere but our focus in life should be to see positivity in the most negative situations..sometimes I feel it’s Angoor Khatte hai wali baat
@ChitChat With Shilpa Thanks for the reply. Yes, it is correct, many comments on the video were out of jealousy. I hope you guys will continue to spread positivity. By the way, I am watching your Denmark videos, too. If you come to Germany someday then we can meet around Frankfurt. Otherwise, I will soon visit GTA and we can meet there. Please share your Instagram account so that I can message you there.
All the best,
Farhan

You can find lot of people to discourage you and criticize your decision…just think, if Canada is that bad, why all these people r giving free advise still sitting in Canada and have not moved back to their countries..if someone has moved to USA after getting passport, thumbs up..moved to Dubai or Middle East where u can definitely earn more n save more, thumbs up but all after getting the passport…change ur thinking perspective and u will be proud of what u have achieved so far
Hi Shilpa, I was reconsidering my decision to study in Canada and I wasn't aware of all these benefits. I think I was looking at short term goals but you made me realise to look at a bigger picture. Thank you so much for this video 🔥❤️
@@tracerbullet1964 Thanks for the heads-up. I can go on and on about salaries in India and how expensive it can get but my motive to move aboard is not just limited to money but also to grow as a person and become independent. Hardwork is everywhere, wheather it's India or Canada. It just depends how you perceive your life to be and what excatly are looking for and I will not realise that until I get out of my comfort zone and achieve something.
@@abhisheknaithani6426 absolutely. I’m just pointing out the reality and my experience having lived in multiple countries and esp Canada for the last 5 years. At the moment it is very very likely that Canada could have its own 2008 moment.
can you please explain?
@@aashwinkumar2242 the housing market is full of fake loans and people buying without thinking. Salaries absolutely do not support the current housing prices and once you add the fake papers being used to get loans, the impending interest rate hikes, you’re sitting on a disaster.
Dear Shilpa thank you for the very nice information..lots of love..
Thanks for the motivation.... I am in due to appear for the IELTS next month.... Ab toh clear Karke Canada aana hi hai !! 😊😊..... I was so confused about moving .... Bcoz we shifted to Qatar 3 years back from India and now my husband is keen for Canada... I kept telling him I wanna continue here only but he forcefully made me apply for PR ... But with passing time and watching these videos, I think we are on the rite track and my worry is reducing .. I was more concerned bcoz moving with a small baby is not easy ... Thanks guys ☺️
