The F4U corsair is one of my favorite aircraft, watching this unboxing has made be really want to get one of these but then i realised they sell for 500 dollars on ebay and im like i cant afford this im broke so i just have to keep watching this and enjoy the video
Ahh nice Buck knife for opening! Good choice, waiting for my F4 coming, can’t wait
The Corser was the best airplane out of World War II. In my opinion I’ve always liked them.
Comment update/adding: YOUR presentations, descriptions and the quality of the models, is 100 % equal !!! Thank You very much for alltime great works !!! It`s a pleasure to watch and explore your channel..... and very recommended for model enthusiasts! Cheers, Frank
Thank you for watching! 🤙😁
I bought a similar Elite Force Corsair 15 years ago but numbered 82 and had Daisy Jane as the nose art. What strikes me, both horizontal stabilizers are identical, there is not a right and a left, one is simply reversed. The same here: 7:00. So only one mold is needed. I wonder if that was the case with the real plane, I don't think so. In addition, the angle of the wings on my Corsair model was wrong, they hung down a bit. But the gull wings are the hallmark of an F4U! I made a spring steel support wire that was inserted inside the wing to set and stabilize the angle. Apart from that, they are very nice models.
Japanese Imperial Navy ace, Saburo Sakai, in his Martin Caidin biography, "Samurai!" stated that while the Japanese pilots had respect for the American F4U Corsair as a high-performance fighter plane, they more feared the F6F Hellcat because the F6F was more maneuverable and could dogfight the Zero-sen. The F6F could stay with the Zero-sen for 45 degrees of a turn, something the F4U Corsair could not do.
Interesting technical fact: Both the F4U and the F6F used the same 18 cylinder, double-row Pratt & Whitney Double Wasp engine giving 2,000-lbs horsepower. Yet the F4U could reach 410 mph at altitude compared to the F6F top speed of only 376 mph at altitude. The F4U was heavier than the F6F. There is no explanation for this discrepancy. In actual operation, some F4U fighter pilots claimed they could only reach about 390 to 395 mph at best. Even this speed greatly exceeded the A6M5c Zero-sen's top speed of 351 mph.
That the F4U Corsair lacked maneuverability for all its high performance is attested to by both Japanese and Corsair pilots. One Japanese Zero fleeing a Corsair was able to pull up in time while its pursuing Corsair dived straight into a grove of coconut trees. Another Zero pulled up in time over the ocean surface while its pursuing Corsair dived straight into the water. Reportedly both incidents were witnessed by Japanese and Americans.
The F4U Corsair was at its métier performing the well-established, dive attack and zoom climb tactics perfected early in the Pacific War.
This man is making is own airforce
😂🫡 thats the goal…
One of the best 1:18 ever. With the exception of the canopy brace, the plane is flawless. In addition, the wing folding mechanism is a lot more robust than the 21st Century version which broke really easily while trying to pull the wings out. Nice video. I kept one with a different paint scheme as this one was completely fictitious, based on an airchsow aircraft.

Nicely detailed model ! I just got together a FSM 1700 mm Corsair. Waiting for nice weather to fly her! 👍🙋♂️🖖🏻
i always loved that airplane (the wings it's the wings)
Then maybe you also like the Stuka.
@@adiconsdaple2285 stuka too boxy
I like the model of the F4U Corsair i love it so much
The tail wheel of the F4U Corsair was the most complex of all American fighter airplanes in WW2 and this was deliberate. The prototype Corsair and early model production Corsairs exhibited poor performance on carrier landings. There was the tendency for excessive bouncing upon landing. The Corsair tended to drop the right wing just upon landing on a carrier. The U.S. Navy felt compelled to relegate the Corsair to land operations in the beginning, giving the Corsair to the lucky Marines.
The aircraft engineers tried all kinds of design solutions. What worked best ended up being a complex, multi-strut tail wheel which raised the height of the tail well above ground/carrier surface. This greatly helped but not totally cured the Corsair bounce upon landing. Evidently that was good enough. A left wing spoiler cured the tendency for the right wing to dip upon landing.
The F4U still exhibited poor visibility during carrier landings due to its long nose. This problem found a solution by British Royal Navy Air Force Corsair pilots who invented the technique of approaching the carrier in a curving approach, thus giving the pilot an extended duration view of the carrier's bow from the side of the cockpit. The Americans quickly adopted this technique.
I like how you posed the pilot at the end ! Nice touch to end vid

This is why i love Corsair
Great Plane, Great Video!!!
I love your videos
👌👌👌great model
My all time favorite fighter plane!
Absolutely beautiful model!!!
👍🏻👍🏻 two thumbs up
Very cool models
These planes are great, but your unboxing videos are top-notch, too. I appreciate the details you add, like the note when the tailhook fell out. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, I appreciate it!
The penultimate Corsair was the F4U-4, which could achieve 440 mph. It came armed with four, Hispano 20mm cannon. The U.S. Navy adopted 20mm cannon long before the USAAF and its successor, the USAF, despite the WW2 P-38 Lighting carrying one 20mm cannon in the nose..
In mid-1945 Vought Corporation on behalf of the U.S. Navy was developing even faster Corsair prototypes, reaching 460 mph, with heated, pressurized cockpits, spring power assisted ailerons, et al. The Japanese unconditional surrender ended all further developments and the last Corsair would remain the F4U-4. By this time the Navy and USAAF were about to introduce the first generation jet fighters. The generation of high-powered propeller fighter airplanes had advanced as far as the technology would go. The age of the jet fighter had arrived.
These models are so impressive - sad, the company is down... but a good video !!! Thank You and LIKE
nice, cant wait to see the Maiden ; P
RC Man, eh ? Brother !! ;D
BEAUTIFUL bird, sir. Used to collect 21st Century Toys 1/18 and 1/32 airplanes. Love them still!

Nice I like your videos
Super video of a VERY desirable item - that’s fantastic
I/18th scale? It’s HUGE! Nice!
It’s huge! Like a big bomb
Welcome to my relaxing music channel
great plane
If this thing had a piston engine or just worked on electricity, had working flaps and retractable gear, it would work like a real rc aircraft.
it does have retractable gears, waddya talking about?
Too heavy
You probably could convert it into one
Nice details....
I'd never heard of this brand until now. Mind blown! They are very expensive on ebay!
All those Brands have dissapeared over the last 10 years.

I'm surprised you didn't break anything with the aggression getting it out of the box
rob...you have apparently never collected/opened/seen a 1/18 scale plastic airplane. Back in the early 2000's 21st Century Toys was the place to go for said airplanes...had purchased and displayed 46 from the den ceiling....of course, they were just $30.00 to $50.00 each back then. They are VERY sturdy and what appears to be aggression is actually, usually necessary to slide the contents of the display box out. Had belonged to the Small Scale HQ forum for a few years, used the name der Vogelfänger. Many good people and fellow serious collectors. Nice video CR!!!

My dad did have a model corsairstill up on the shelf
I don’t know where you get these models but they are awsome! Great video.
I had 6 of these. Including the Corsair. Had the WW2 planes. Got them all at Walmart for $40 apiece. Had them hanging to display and after a couple yrs my wife said that’s enough. Sold them for $650. Wanted to keep them, but with my RC planes it was to much.
Your comment made me sad 40$ wow I have always wanted one of these
Nice Corsair plane and video! by the way: nice garden for BBQ-parties😇
I WANT IT but how much dose it cost?
I like this video is my God, I love the planes of the Second World War but without they are from the Pacific War, the details amazed me
Ah the BBI Marines Dream F4U Corsair. BBI does an excellent job with detail and so fourth on their planes. Their F6F Hellcat, which I own, blew me away with the quality and detail they put in it. I would love to have the Marines Dream Corsair but the prices they are asking on Ebay for it is way out of my league. I saw one going for $500!!! Excellent video.
Every considered using some cutters to remove plastic ties when unpacking model? 😊
@@MilitaryVehicleReviews Ooo! Can I have one, then?

Really enjoying these. I’d love to have gotten the harrier you have. I have a lot of these including helicopters. I’ve got the bbi f16 and f18 apart and in storage in their boxes but they’re very sought after and demand high prices on eBay!
Keep up the vids! 😎
@@MilitaryVehicleReviews if you’re interested they did some awesome helicopters too! The 21st century cobras are super rare and sought after! The merit Hueys are really awesome and the bbi helicopters are great also!
@@MilitaryVehicleReviews Did they ever make some of the larger warbirds like the twin engine stuff, Mitchells, Marauder, Lightening, etc?

Haha true..

Where do you get these
hola,donde puedo comprarlo?
translate:hello,where in can buy it?
As these big snap-together planes go, this one of the nicest I've seen on YT. Some Q's however: These planes cost a lot, do they not? Isn't it just a "buying" hobby? Do you not miss the pride that comes with building and painting a kit model?
Just curious!
Lol most people can't assemble or paint models
@@shadowblack1987 I don't believe that.
Are these models still available?
Is it Skipper from disney Planes movie and Rustler from GTA San Andreas ?
Dove si acquistano online questi modelli??
That's a lot of kill markings. Is it modeled after a real fighter? And who was the pilot?
Thats impressive, are they still making these?
No. The company and many others like them went out of business.
@@nelsonc6173 Hard to understand how a company can go out of business when they have such a great product. I would like to buy one but they appear to be sold out everywhere.
Do you have a certain website you like to order these from or is it just kinda search from several sites
@@MilitaryVehicleReviews Its sad, from the looks of it this company put alot of money into making these, probably more than they were profiting
How much are one of these on average

Pity about the spitfire having 2 left stabilisers. I suppose it can easily be done on the assembly line. I always think the workers are not aircraft enthusiasts and probably couldn't tell the difference..
