I disable indexing on all my computers as well as client machines by just clicking on "My computer" to locate your primary C: drive. Then right click on the actual drive and choose properties. You will see the "drive indexing" dialog box check by default. Just uncheck that box and choose "ignore all" and the drive will no longer be indexed. That way i can not have my drive indexed but also retain the windows search feature.

Changing the refresh rate for Windows is more important than it seems: If you run a game in 'borderless window' it will max the frame rate to the one specified in Windows. So if your game runs smoothly at full screen but sucks in borderless window, that's the reason.
Actually, the thing that mostly kills GPUs when overclocking, is the heat. If you can keep the GPU cooled pretty well or have a GPU with a massive cooling solution (like I have), you can run an overclock all day long 🙂. My overclocked GPU usually runs most games at max 62 degree celcius or around 57-58 degree celcius on average. And that's pretty good temperature.

The second type is not a real PC gamer. If you just want to plug and play, get a console instead. The main point of PC gaming is the flexibility, for tweaking. That's why we get Windows at the first place because we have more time to experiment and troubleshooting stuff. 😊

I like to use Under Volting on my GPU. I have an EVGA RTX 3080 TI and have it undervolted to 1900 mhz @ .900v at 1440p. I also have my Nvidia fps CAP at 140 hertz on my Monitors 144mhz with GYSNC on. I have VSync on NV control panel but off in all game settings. Last I have NVidia Inspector to manually add Resizable Bar to games that do not support it but see benefits from the forums.
I have an RTX made by MSI 4060 TI OC Edition 8 gigabytes I have also 5600 x with the MSI Meg b550 Tomahawk Wi-Fi motherboard my TV runs at 165 but when I try to put my gaming to 165 it starts being slow and disgustingly but what I put it down on my game I tap it on 60s well with a lot of stuttering can you please tell me what it could be and I have 64 gigs of RAM can I have a 1 TB SSD plus a backup I feel like a chicken without no head I'm going crazy please some advice I figure maybe the CPU is bottlenecking with the 4060 TI or the motherboard any advice would be gladly appreciated and by the way Happy New Year
My task scheduler freezes when I click ok after changing or looking at the Windows Defender schedule scan condition settings. I can't shut down the window from the task bar nor drag the window around. Any thoughts?
@CyberCPU I ran sfc /scannow. It did repair corrupted files and after restarting, still get freezing but only in windows defender condition settings and even if you just view the settings. Clicking cancel gives same result
I followed your instructions in a completely screwed up my system when everything I had set up at this point right now I've learned my lesson and I will never follow anybody like you people again
Ive mentionned in windows insider feedbacks to please give us a game optimised version of windows that would included all the tweaks, optimisations, debloated services and features disabled and without the crap applications we dont need. Imagine the time consuming saving this would be.

This info was great, right up till you got to Msi afterburner. Wow, you could do a series on just that. I downloaded it and was my first time. got the card unlocked, set the fans to auto, never could save a profile ???? Tried 200 and 1000 and got a game crash. tried 100 and 800 and got a game crash, reset and uninstalled. The card seems to work fine without tinkering with something I am unsure of what i am doing. Thx for the info, I made all the other changes except for search lololol
try raising the overclocks in much smaller increments like 10mhz core and 50mhz on memory clock at a time then game if it seems to run great then raise a bit more then game for a couple hours again and google other peoples experiences and stable overclocks that they got for your card so you know at least some ballpark numbers to start with.
Power and Sleep advanced - I have mine set at Max. Also my intel processor had same settings so also set as high as possible - Not sure if one overrides the other
I mean nowadays the standard is 60fps but 30fps aint that big of a deal. All first party Nintendo games for the switch are locked at 30fps and they're selling just fine (outside of some exceptions like mario odyssey)

@@CyberCPU I'm using a PS3 controller and I also need to activate Scp Toolkit each time in order to make it to be recognized by Windows 10, if I disable the Xbox services my controller doesn't work at all (I have read that Scp Toolkit is linked those services). Anyway, a video about external controllers in Windows 10 would be great since I have had struggled a lot with them. Cheers Rich.
@@TheForce_Productions I use an Xbox one USB wired controller and have had no issues. About the only issue I've ever had with it is sometimes it doesn't detect and I need to unplug it and plug it back in and it's fine.

I played best games in the world in the past and got not only fun but also knowledge because games was so much like admiration and new and got team to do the best they could to make you a good game! I played (Need for speed - GTA - Devil May Cry - Lord of the rings strategy - Assassin creed - Prince of Persia the game - Max Payne - FIFA - Hitman - Command & Conquer: Generals - StarCraft - Star Wars strategy - Batman - and a lot but I can't remember the rest!)
I know someone who played Assassin creed learned something could kill someone from it in real life (but not me I swear 🙂) another learned type of guns from games like middle of honor and call of duty (but I didn't play it and didn't learn it yet!)

U dont need gync/vsync turn that crap off
If you are using Gamepass then I wouldn't recommend disabling anything to do with telemetry as you will very likely run into issues.

For those using a Xbox/PSX controllers for gaming, don't disable Xbox services, since they're the ones which keep them functioning.
I use an Xbox controller and disabling those services.had absolutely no effect.

@@CyberCPUsee wired, if you use a wired controller it uses the inbuilt xbox 360 drivers. If you use it non wired you must have those box services on.
This is kinda picky and personal pereference stuff for the most part tbh.

If you did then your PC won't run properly at all. Some services are essential.
