Here in the UK I have a little Vauxhall Corsa, a GM product that recently developed a misfire on number two cylinder at low rpm, when you rev the engine the misfire goes away, if you let it idle and misfire for more than about 20 sec it will shutdown the injector on that cylinder to protect the engine and cat, sounds to me like the Cadillac could do with something similar! Thanks Ivan for all your videos I have learned a lot, mostly to take stock of the problem and not jumping to conclusions and start tearing things apart before proper investigation.

Hello Ivan, I have been watching you for a few years. I do not understand why you use the light bulbs test light to give power to power the bank of coils. I am at 17:01 so will have to back up to see how many amps the bulbs are. I do not understand the whole concept of different amp bulbs to power something. I am old school, 73 years old, you have helped me in the past figure some things out. I just can not stand not understanding the stuff. Thank you for all the good videos.
The big test light pair is basically a convenient 5 Amp fuse that never blows. Safer than a straight or fused jumper wire, and MUCH safer than the silly Power Probe :)

I guess all the good electricians left this expensive high tech area already. I am an electrical engineer and I understand wiring diagrams, but I live in an apartment, don't have a lift and can't get under the car to check fro broken wires.
Hold push button for 10 sec for the ignition to remain on. On some vehicles if held for 5 sec ignition will eventually time out.
Would changing the diluted engine oil stop the smoke?
Those GM vvt solenoids and catalytic converters have high failure rates , I doubt they were changed to remedy ignition coli circuit codes
The best thing since sliced bread,,had me giggle out loud 😂😂😂
Wow good job amigo
I love to read the comments and how everybody knows everything so often about these vehicles. But when you are out in the field and doing it and freezing your nuts off and it's raining and all of the above it's easy to say , right
eric O, has his trick w/tape for tight spots, you probably have seen. he uses an 10mm socket and wraps tape around it for those difficult to reach areas. it's a bit more comfortable and effective than the almost empty tape roll. just an FYi
But my 10MM sockets keep running away!
The shop was so close to figuring this out when they jumped power and got it running. Just couldn't find where the wiring failure was.
There was no doubt in my mind they were going to say you can fix the wire,. 😙
good video -- you = good soldier
Boom, you got the money shot with the broken wire, well spotted.
well done
To turn on the ignition, press and hold the start button for 10 seconds. I think you found that out on a Cruze you worked on.
