Spoke to a senior manager regarding this at CPP. You can earn millions in your TFSA, RRSP and Non Registered accounts all day long. They don't care. As long as no employer generates a T4 on you over 6k per year you are fine and CPP disability will not go after you. The analogy used was a person selling a house for 5 million dollars profit. Would CPP Disability stop giving you your CPP Disability payment? The answer is no. I have yet too find a single person on TH-cam or any discussion group providing this clarity. Until now. So to be clear, a person receiving CPP disability cannot have employment income over $6000.00 in 2023. Employment income defined as a place of employment, which would at the end of the year provide you with a T4 for income purposes.

So, what is the point of applying for CPPD if you're already on ODSP, nobody wants to say.

Thank you for a very informative video! I received a large cash injection two years ago and it is in a high interest savings account and the the financial advisor (major Canadian bank) has asked me frequently to invest in mutual funds and etf's. My question is: I am unsure how this will affect my CPP Disability?

It's a passive income, so I can't see how it can affect your CPP Disability.

There is a huge difference making withdrawals from investments from your non registered accounts and actually spending that money vs re-investing dividends (drips) and/or profits back into the same account without actually spending those gains. Does CPP Disability not allow a person to increase the value of their personal non registered account, which may be their only investment vehicle and instead penalize the investor for increasing their wealth in those investments? I would think that as long as the money is not withdrawn then your fine. Is this accurate? Love to read your thoughts on this! Thank you.

    Thanks for the great content!
What about if you were to receive a cash gift from your partner or family member every month? Also, will the interest earned on savings account affect CPP disability benefits? I am talking about very small amount, approx. $120-$180 per year.
It is so difficult as partial CPP-D is such a small amount and it is taxable as well as your earnings are limited to $6800/year. AISH benefits have other set of rules. It is very easy to get disqualified and so difficult to sustain yourself on sporadic low income work because of your invisible disabilities.

I plan on setting up a print on demand company, generating passive monthly income. Using Etsy my company would be set up from home and run on my android mobile device. Is that considered working? I would be checking in an hour or two per week to ensure things were running properly.

I’m wondering if you have any information regarding if someone was on CPP disability and also had a child that has a disability ( no matter the age including adult child say on ODSP) If the CPP recipient wanted to try to return to work due to financial difficulties only , can that person instead apply for a part time caregiver wage to their own child/ adult child in order to be able to stay home and continue to be there for their child with a disability and receive a caregiver work related pay to increase their finances as a part time job outside of the home would please?

So if I wanted to open a business to sell own art and do some consulting on the esthetics, should I open it as sole proprietor or a corporation in order to not have my CPP and AiSh benefits affected?

Did your wcb get wage corrected when you got CPPD? I was told by some entities that you get both in full and told by CPPD that they didn’t know for sure. No one seems to be able to tell me.

Keep in mind that CPP disability doesn't factor in the availability of work. On whether you could do a job.
