In my opinion, it is art. I'd say it's more art than those guy that just do weird things throwing something, splatter a paint, or making something abstract and call it an art. This is more art than that, took patient, talent, time, effort and a lot of thinking.
using a broken head, would be good to see a demonstration of what happens when you over-port with before and after would be good to see what happens when the throat goes from stock too much showing the numbers in between the internet doesn't have enough Japanese-head content
hmmm...you might be onto something there. Like intentionally hurt it, but hurt it in a way we have seen people hurt them. And maybe show what actually works.
Agree with Goyo. Especially the angel when filming. Finally you can see whats going on. But, a couple of times Dave mention (you cant build it up again) when talking about grinding to much. As far as i know there's things that work's fore this purpuse. JB-welding for exampel. Maybe Dave got reasons for not using things like that.
In the bike world I always see every single shop or individual always port everything big and wide with the guide cut flush to the port, I'm no pro but have been porting for a while (car 2 valve world till recently) and think that just making a big round hole with no guide has to really hurt port flow and velocity. My question is what have you found with your 4 valve heads? Appreciate your time.
We remove the guide boss, but we remove the guide first and install it at full length. We don't make the guide flush with the roof because then the valve is not supported which can cause the guide to prematurely wear. Learned that from doing it. It is a very small or sometimes no gain in airflow.
@@Schmitty_Luv2 are you acoustic? Literally explained nothing about it benefiting this platform. KAs intake was designed for high compression with fluid dynamics in mind
Been waiting for this. The KA doesn’t get near the love it deserves.
I love watching you port heads. It looks like art.
It is! Thanks for your kind words

Really educational. Thanks for showing us your tips and tricks.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Wow great information thanks for sharing... ❤❤❤👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏
Hi Dave
A great explanation accompanied by great work, thank you very much.
With you I have learned a lot.

Thank you sir! Glad you got something out of it

there is nothing that can go in there that would stay in a port or that you could possibly shape. Once it is gone, it is gone forever.
Id be curious to know power this ends up making once its together. And with what you do about fitting big enough camshafts in the top of it.
some big ass JWT cams. We will probably do something for a follow up.

Have you work on mazda head for n/a build
@@cafemotorsports no sir.
So... Final flow bench results?
He is waiting for VTEC to kick in for final results.
I explained that I am not flowing it for TH-cam. And it would need to be sanded, guides installed, valve job before we could flow it.
How much time roughly is a port job like this from start to finish? (highly depends case by case, I know - but roughly?)
7-9hrs for port and sand.
What are those tong things called?

@@headgames thanks! I ordered one 😀
hi . you are ported a Duratec engine ?
no sir
what about flow ball ? tecnic is efective for performance ?
Where can I find that burr tool
Sold out at this time, but you can hit the NOTIFY ME and get it when it is back in stock. headgamesmotorworks.com
It's a sad day when you want the best in the business to port your track cars cylinder head but if it's not on there list they won't touch it
Didnt you flatten out the short turn radius a lot or it just appears like that ?
Definitely didn’t flatten it out on the intake. The exhaust is like that oem if that’s what your referring too.
What's the benefits over not porting
Benefits over not porting it is added airflow, and added whp
@@headgames is it noticable gains, or is it trying to squeeze every cubic inch out of this platform?
