The fact that you mentioned that the first part of Shovel Knight was retroactively renamed "Shovel of Hope" made me realize it was a nod to Star Wars "A New Hope" (which was also reactively renamed, as the original movie was simply known as "Star Wars" before). Neat.
The girl in the thumbnail is the main character of the videogame Code of Princess by the way. I do recommend it, but mostly because of the girl in the thumbnail.
Although it's just an Easter egg, rather than a crossover, I thought it was pretty cool to see a character from one of my favorite metroidvanias show up in another one of my favorite metroidvanias, Catmaze.
I love shovel knight, one of my favorite franchises of all time, but my favorite part about this video was recognizing other characters making it in the crossover, like Juan Aguacate from Guacamelee and Rusty from SteamWorld.
Not a game crossover, but several years ago, Man at Arms: Reforged released a video of them forging a full size Shovel Knight shovel. Not the most complex build, but quite entertaining to see.
You forgot Shovel Knight was meant to be on Indivisible as one of the ancestors but eventually didn't make it to the final game due to certain controversial topics with Lab Zero Games

There's one that may have slipped by! In the game Super Chibi Knight by PestoForce, Shovel Knight appears near the end of the game as an NPC that needs to be saved. He even gives you his shovel, which plays a major role in the final battle!

Looking forward to the new titles: Shovel Knight Dig has that classic Nitrome flare, having enjoyed a few of their previous games. Bomb Chicken showed they they're fully capable of making great premium titles, not just freemium/mobile/web games. As for Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon, I have been following the game for years, before it even had the Shovel Knight IP integrated into it. There is an extremely early prototype on itch.

Not a Crossover, more like a cameo or just easter egg. In Blasphemous there's this secret room that contains an art gallery, and one of the paintings depicts Shovel Knight, as well as characters from very obscure games (Maldita Castilla for instance).
I loved the original Shovel Knight but had to give up most platformers because of arthritis. I had no idea he was in so many games! That's great! Thanks for the video.😁

The original game may not be on as many systems as Cave Story or be the same kind of sensation as Touhou, but it is really incredible how well the series did on its own and translated into other genres or works. I thought Smash would be the only triple A pick here, but For Honor shocked me before Road Redemption came up. I'm the most excited for platformers and fighters, but this little indie seems to have no limits in what can work.
I'm actually kinda surprised to see the Battletoads being fought within Shovel Knight's own game wasn't mentioned... though sadly only exclusively on the Xbox version

That would make sense, since I did go fishing earlier.", then there is Rivals of Aether where every character is an animal and the only other guest character is Ori which makes Shovel Knight the odd one out...unless...
