    Just got this yesterday! Its amazing. It was interesting to me that you can program (within a patch) which FX bypass button works on 😮 similarly for expression pedals and knobs. I definitely was not expecting that, and it actually makes this a lot more practical for gigging musicians and live-recording. All that and atill everything is really easy and intuitive. The designers definitely must have challenged themselves to keep everything as simple to interact with as possible. Its a really well thought out design, must-have pedal.

    Love mine, super versatile pedal. The gesture and secondary functions make it really fun to play around with...plus it has MIDI!

      What kind of music do you play?

    Thanks for being the only demo on TH-cam (as far as I can tell) that was willing to go through each effect one by one. Even Hologram's official demo didn't do this, which is bad marketing.

      Id say their marketing is pretty damn good, they've caused a massive hype around the pedal and have sold a lot of units. Their demos are KILLER.

      Well, there's are two sides to every coin. I think the demos they made are very effective and accurate to the experience of using it, but also there is some value to being thorough with a deep dive of the capabilities. Once you have this in your hands though you realize that it's going to be very rare that you would ever want to use or hear just one effect at a time, and because they have built the FX banks to work so well together once you start using it you will just end up using something from all the banks most of the time (just because you can, and it's easy). I don't think people should buy this to get a swiss army knife, they should buy it to get a tye-dyed Volkswagen bus to drive down the highway in. That seems to be the design-intent. (But I am wrong about lots of things, respectfully) 🌞 people may end up using this all types of different ways.

    I bought one when they first came out. Loved the tones, but I felt like it had a digital latency that made it feel weird under the fingers

      yeah? i didn't notice. lemme see if i can get it to do it.

      Did you use it into an amp, or into a pc? Did you use any other pedals with a digital dry-through, like an H9 or H90? I can believe that when stacking a few digital-dry pedals in a row, or running them into a pc or a digital modeller, all the latencies stack up, and eventually it’ll get noticeable. But running just the Chroma into an analog amp, I’ve not felt it to have any noticeable latency at all.

      @@Qwitsoender Nope, straight into the pedal and then straight out to the amp. It seemed most prominent to me with the mix being 100% (which is how they recommend using it)

    • @Qwitsoender
      @Qwitsoender 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@reynoldswrap36I’ve not seen that recommendation and i have read the whole manual. And I haven’t experienced what you’re describing.
      Maybe you were using some of the effects that have inherent latency, like the pitch shifter or the doubler.
      Also, the dry signal that’s on the mix control is in phase with the non-time-based-fx, like the preamps and fuzzes, otherwise mixing in the clean with the drive would result in a hollow phase-problem sound, like a flanger or chorus that’s stuck in one place. This doesn’t happen, so the dry sound must have the same latency as the wet sound. This makes it extra weird that you say you could hear or feel more latency with the effect at full wet. I really think you were probably fixating on some of the fx that have inherent latency.

      Did you wind up keeping it? I heard absolutely unusable latency when he was on the pitch setting.. that may be a dealbreaker right there.

    Great video! During the demo of the modules was the guitar directly plugged into the ChromaConsole, or was it placed after the amp?

    I am gonna catch hate for this..but oh well....I had the Chroma Console....user interface is about matching colors--a pain--like the Microcosm....also, for $400 bucks there "should" be an online editor to save/manipulate presets....I found the textures section the best, but you can only use one in the category.....ugh....it gets "old" fast,,,,,,,Hologram does not offer returns either..you would think a well respected company would at least offer a 7 day unconditional return policy....Nope....Hologram doesn't...Save your money for a Fractal Axe 2 or 3......
