Josh is a very interesting and inventive player. Nick is no slouch either. i mean he slouches but..nm! got no problem listening to these guys jam for awhile.
I'd love to see a JHS take on the idea of the screen-less, easy to use, featured, but focused multi effect. You guys kill it with stuff like the Bonsai, and I really think if you took some the ideas this pedal hit on, and added your typical JHS "thing" to it, it would cook! Edit: this video single-handedly sold me on this pedal. It arrives on Wednesday next week :)
Best tones period! I'm not even really a guitar guy (I watch it for the effects pedals for my synths mainly) but the mixing on this channel is amazing. I wish they would put out a compilation of all their jams.
@@lightemam Studio One - using the pipeline plug in. Been experimenting with using it as a finisher on stuff so last in the chain (maybe put an EQ after just to clean it up) but I've only had it a week so still figuring it out.
yeah this is exactly what I planned on doing. Need to tie it into the patchbay so I can use it on whatever. I hadn't thought to make a preset for the DAW. good call1
Nick: This is like… they hit it so far… they hit it out of the park and then into another park and out of that park. Double park. Joshua: Remember that movie where the kid hit the baseball out of the park and it killed that lady? Josh: M. Night Shyamalan? The Village? I don’t know why I laughed so hard at this.
Two weeks on the road and I came home to this on Thursday night. The most entertaining hour I've seen this year. Thanks so much. Although I have to confess that my G.A.S. had subsided over the last year and a half but just came roaring back in a spacey, ambient way.
Right? I was really thinking JHS vids would be the cure for lusting after this pedal because I could cover so much ground with other pedals. 🤔 Now ... I'm screwed. 😂
What a cool episode☺️ Thanks heaps. The jams are totally chill, and best of all… musical! So yeah, thank you JHS team, your show really is life enriching for us guitar players. Bravo✊🏻
Pedals like these reinforce the “golden era of guitar” vibes I have. The absolute emotion this thing throws off, with incredible midi control and accessibility. Just incredible. What a world.
This was a joy to watch - seeing Nick's face light up with each new effect was so fun! I have a Chroma Console and I love it - tempted to invest in a Microcosm as well now!
I have the Microcosm and it’s amazing. So many videos about it focus on all the “weird” stuff it can do, which is true, but it’s also really musical and useful for less weird atmospheric sounds that add that special something. Really versatile. I’ve been interested in the Chroma Console but haven’t pulled the trigger. This is the best “demo” I’ve seen of it, and now I think I need to add it to my Microcosm.
OMG this reminds me of my (old-school) Alesis INEKO Multi-FX (which appears to have gained tons of value in past 20 years). Simple, excellent quality FX that "don't let the form of the pedal interfere with creativity." I love this product, this channel (esp Live episodes) and particularly Nick's "loss of composure". Hope that Hologram sells as many as they can make.
Best video about the Chroma Console I've seen. After seeing a ton of them... this is the one that makes me want to buy a Chroma Console (and a Microcosm). More please and thank you.
Okay, so I‘ll admit to being a Dan and Mick aficionado, but what a show you‘re putting on here! Great playing, great vibe, and a great pedal demonstration to boot. Brilliant drumming and drum sound. Poetry thrown in for good measure, too. Good stuff!
That's what I love about not having to rely on tv anymore. You used to have to choose what to watch and it was a competition. Now, you can watch it all!! Love That Pedal Show and The JHS Show.
"we're gonna need a bigger breadboard..." have seen this pedal used only in electronic ambient type stuff and it seemed cool. didn't even know it could do all sorts of "regular" stuff too. great job!!!
I was genuinely worried about Nick there at the beginning, but it was great to see him getting animated about these lovelypedals. Great sounds, lovely jams, lovely lovely 🙏🏼💜✨
Uh..ok on vacation, in a beach chair chilling on the beach. Found this video and can’t stop watching/listening to it (looking at water is nice 😊 too). Anyway, this made my day.
I love your lives! Best show! Nonetheless it is incredible what one can do with a single pedal! For the first glance it looks like single pedal but it has so many inside! Carry on Josh! More content like this!🤘 And I'm looking forward to seeing a microcosm, at least an hour long video also!😁
Just listened to Andy Powers and Josh's fretboard journal podcast. What a great chat. From his days at Norris Music in winfield,AL to talking philosophy what a trip for a bama boy!
Not only does Nick's drums sound good, but his time is excellent. It's always a nice backdrop to display the pedals. Also, pedals are pretty incredible sounding!
Yeah it does, seems to be a 5120. I was hoping it was a current model but it isn't. Their only currently available model that's similar is the Jack Casady which only has the one mid pickup which doesn't really interest me
@@AfferbeckBeats That seems right. They probably removed the pick guard. The one things is that the bass looks small, but I have to remember that Josh is a giant so that bass might actually be huge.
I'm here to say the movie reference Joshua made was "Simon Birch" which is an attempt to adapt John Irving's brilliant novel "Prayer for Owen Meany" to big screen. I give it a C+
The thing I do kinda struggle with mine is where to put it in the chain in a pedal board format. As a standalone it’s obvious. But in a board, at the end? After overdrives but before other mod/delay so you can go either way with it? Early? Etc

Glad that you've bought the Zoom 505 into the equation... Some of these Chroma sounds just as "digital" as those old multi-effect units were - but since the UI is nice, colourful and pretty most people just don't care. As they liked the tones when they thought it's coming from a tube amp and not from a Kemper. You could definitely find great sounds and inspiring tones in a 30 buck Zoom or Digitech or a ten times more expensive Chroma if you have the taste and ears. Nice pedal tbw, definitely more stupid-proof compared to the vintage, old-school stuff.
Awesome show, awesome pedal and tones, and great jams!! maybe i missed it, but did you mentioned that you also are able to change effect order on this pedal?

I want you to start a series called “it does the thing” where you just show pedals that make a really specific sound.
Please do this
That would be a great way to show, no you don't need the exact piece of esoteric gear xyz artist used in 19xx to get a certain sound.
