Thank you for giving us encouragement and not out to to make make a killing of the people. You are a true patriot. Nice to see someone offering to help people . Thank you😊
The inspiration you give and marketing skills you teach people is something you can’t put a price on. You’re the man Matthew! Preciate everything you do
Another great video. I so look forward to your videos. About 15 years ago I did a post remodeling cleaning to a $1.2 million dollar house here in Coastal Georgia. I watched a decorator place two stumps about 30" tall and 16" wide, on each side of the very expensive down filled sofa. These like PB's had the bark remove, had been sanded, painted gold and epoxied. They were being used as end tables. Curiosity got me and I asked the decorator what the end tables cost. She told me her discounted price was $1100. Naturally, I looked at her like she was nuts and said "$1100 for two stumps?" She came back wirh a chuckle and said "No, $1100 a piece." I almost fell over when she said that. 😂
Mathew, concerning the green, 3d pumpkin item, you asked what someone would call the "slats". then you asked for suggestions on a better term. My suggestion is "ribs". By the way, LOVE you videos. I am 63 and looking forward to retirement later this decade. I hope to spending my retirement days building smalls and also the larger items from your videos. You are an inspiration for me and many others. Thanks so much for being the bright part of my days!
I am a first time viewer of your channel, I have to say, I love it, I have truly enjoyed watching this video, I feel a bit more inspired, Thank you for taking the time to make these videos... Keep smiling 😃 God loves you 😃
Every Sunday I get up, grab a coffee, and watch your latest video. I’m like a kid waking up on Christmas morning.. lol. So many great build ideas to help every kind of builder. Love your videos Matthew… keep ‘em coming! 🙏
A great way to distress and weather wood quickly is to mix up some water and baking soda in a spray bottle and just start spraying the wood. Let the baking soda mixture sit for a while and in no time you'll have wood that looks gray and dingy.
I made the christmas tree triangles without trim, and my daughters painted. I used a scrap piece of wood in garage. I might add some ornaments using some small fluffy balls and bingo, perfect gift for Granparents. I made one as a stand-up and the other as a wall hanger. Love this channel.
Instead of calling them slats on the pumpkin, I think they look more like ribs 🤷♀️. I love your channel and you have inspired me to learn how to work with wood! Slowly getting better and starting to sell my creations...thank you so much!
I used fence pickets for the first pumpkins in the past. I cut the picket in half on 1 board and keep 1 board hole then assembled. The only difference is the bottom isn't dogeared but, as you know, that can be achieved! Thanks for the awesome videos, Matthew! I own a small B&M and have 25 local vendors that make and sell in my shop. Some of us watch your videos and decide who's making what to sell.
A lot of the times you can find used hinges at the restore if you guys have one in your area. You would also be supporting Habitat for Humanity and recycling at the same time and getting very cheap hinges.
I about choked on my blueberries when you said the price on that piece of firewood! First thing that came to mind was "A fool and his money are soon parted."
I really like what you said at the end there, How you pointed out that If you made it this far, And you must be interested. It's funny how such a simple statement cand pivot my perception on my interests. Thank you.
Dude!! You are my hero! I am a big DIY'r and love to turn something cheap (or old and thrown away) into something amazing! I am moving more towards wood DIYs. Picking up free scraps and pallets along the way. Definitely going to be getting fence pickets! Thanks for all of your knowledge and sense of humor! You are awesome! 🪚🪵🪈🖌️
I looked on the PB website and the log stool I saw is a concrete cast. Must be really heavy!! Yikes! I like your idea with the firewood stump sealed with polyurethane much better!!
That log is so funny because we used to do liquidation and we got one of those in a pallet from target. Looked it up and they wanted 900 for it. We actually sold it to a friend for next time her fireplace. Finally figured out what a log stool was good for.
Try wetting wood with water let dry then paint black then white on top the water creates more depth scotch rite pads with water works well for distressing
OMG!!!!! "It's Log, It's Log, It's big, it's heavy, it's wood!!!" I'm never shocked by what people will pay for. Still, it's a freakin log!!! I'm finishing a set of benches from the last video today and have been waiting for the 3D pumpkins you teased. I thought that was how you made it but I like to see how you approach making these projects so I waited for this video. I'll share pics when I have both of them finished. I'm excited for the fall decor season.
The boomerang lol I would call trim cause essentially it looks like trim just custom-made... or outline. And the grass/ hay looking stuff is raffia. You make me laugh ... I enjoy watching your videos. ...for the record I can laugh at myself too lol. 😁
Great ,fun videos! Love all the pumpkins! Super! If you could, show us how to make a so called Christmas tree out of tobacco sticks! Or could use tomato Stakes my friend did! They used twine or leather at the top,to hold together, ,they used 3 stakes, then wrapped with grape vines and lights to decorate! ! Like to see your spin on it. Sell really great and cheap to make. Keep inspiring! Love wood working! Thanks! Marlene a farmer from SC.
I have so many logs that we put them around our fire pit im about to take the bark off and paint them make some extra money ❤ its crazy that PB is making people pay that much just for the name brand

Do you ever use a scroll saw on any of your projects??
My favorite woodworking channel. You’re the best. Naked log 😂
Fresh air?!! No way! There’s nothing better than the smell of saw dust!!!
@@MrJaxparadize pine saw dust smells like Victory
Best woodworking channel on the tube.
Wow, thanks!
Definitely the one to look forward to week after week here.

I agree 💯
100% agree!!!

Ever time I watch one of your videos I wind up spending the rest of the day out in the garage trying to recreate the items. Keep up the good work sir.
To me that sounds like a great day! Glad you are enjoying it.
Matthew i would call them ribs

Hey that's LOG, from Blammo!
What rolls down stairs, alone or in pairs, and over your neighbor's dog.....
I would call the pumpkin slats “ribs” . Looks great btw !
I like it! Lol
I thought ribs too!
That's ribs!

To get a fast, random paint pattern make a messy stack of the pickets and spray them. Shift them around, spray a different color.

Call the funky pieces " ribs" kinda looks like them

Big up from Upstate NY ❤️💛💚 You have a great channel bro!
Appreciate that!
I've been making stuff like this for years now. They do sell.
Love it and the grass stuff is called raffia. I am really enjoying learning new woodworking. It is my new obsession.
Welcome to the community! Raffia… hmmm…. But why.
log stools are so old school when you didnt have the money to buy chairs. lol oh the memories thank you for sharing
A great way to distress and weather wood quickly is to mix up some water and baking soda in a spray bottle and just start spraying the wood. Let the baking soda mixture sit for a while and in no time you'll have wood that looks gray and dingy.
Thank you for your time. Hands down the best.
How about putting the hinges in brake fluid for awhile and then in salty water for a natural distressed look.
For 20+ years I used the log stool as a photographic prop for kids and adults too.
2:47 add a cross piece to that panel and you’ve got a funky wall hanger.
AHhhh! I love the fences, & I just bought a huge box of hinges at an estate sale for like $2. 😍 Thanks, Matthew!!
Perfect!

Thanks buddy. If I do make these I will use a dowel for the pumpkin stem. I picture somebody picking it up from the stem and the glue joint breaking.
Made some of the pumpkins for my wife and mom. May have to try to sell some next year!
“Grass bow tie thing,” “squirrel log stool”! You crack me up! 😂😂😂Love your videos!

The large 2x4 chunky pumpkin sitters can be advertised/ sold as trivets to increase usability
Showed my wife the "plank pumpkin sitters" and guess what I'm building today now?! Haha Love this series and your videos. Keep up the awesome work.
I would call them "ribs"
I think gnarly ridges are a fitting name for the slats.
Lol yes I like it.
A lot of the times you can find used hinges at the restore if you guys have one in your area. You would also be supporting Habitat for Humanity and recycling at the same time and getting very cheap hinges.

I like those who use demonstrations.
Matt! This is super terrific. I'm loving my cedar planters, but my wife doesn't want me watching the channel any more. Too many ideas!
Amen- could watch you for hours-
You are awesome and truly Blessed Thank you for what you do
Hahaha. That green pumpkin looks like an upside down onion.
Lol I kinda see it.
Log stool--brilliant, I wish I would have thought of it
Love your work

Love the Squirrel Stool...
Always love the smalls videos. Thank you so much for your channel.
You are so welcome!
We, country folk, are laughing at that “stool,” that the city folk are buying. 😂
The pickets can also be of random heights! Maybe 1/4 or 1/2 inch differences, EZ!
"Probably got poison ivy... I dunno." I lol'd, because I was thinking that would be just my luck.
Watching your videos has made me want to get back into woodworking with my own twist

Thanks Matthew!
"Kinda weird calling them 'slats'...."
Riblets. Make it fun.
The "grass" stuff is raffia.
Battens. Like board and batten walls. They cover the seams and form the edge trimming.
