One thing about Kirk is that he is a FANTASTIC MAN! I mean as a person. He once spent about 15 min with my son when he was 11 years old showing him guitar licks. It was after a set, while a new band was setting up on the stage. My son asked if he would show him some licks, he did and then handed my son his guitar. My son played it back to him. Kirk laughed and took his guitar back and showed him another one. My son played it back again. Kirk again laughed and went and got his spare guitar. They spent the rest of the time with Kirk doing a lick and my son playing it back. Kirk told my son “Your a good player little man! Keep it up, you’ll one day be blowing me away on stage!” My son is in his early 30’s now and can play very well. He still remembers his time with Kirk. I have been able to talk to Kirk many times at shows. He is a very friendly and humble man. We NEED more people like him in the blues! P.S. I surprised he isn’t poor. Every time I see him live he BLOWS THE ROOF OFF! I’m sure he has had to replace many of them🤣
Funny how 30 people 'thumbs down' a player who "Guitarist" deemed qualified to teach a Blues Masterclass. That is, a MASTERCLASS. Pretty sure he's bonafide.
He is playing at Norms guitar store with some other guy both have 58strats, lately it doesn't matter I play alone and I'm good it's work just getting people together anymore
@@djanitatiana Absolutely, I'm very grateful he has given his time to this. There are so many terrible blues guitar lessons on YT, Kirk comes from another direction and gives you stuff to think about, more of the "Zen" stuff beyond notes and shapes etc etc
Blues was born out of the hard days in the cotton fields, and the seeds of it had been scattered all over America, then all over the world. We should appreciate being able to enjoy this great music.
Tight! I've been a Blues fan for 20 years now. Started going to Chicago Blues Fest in 2001 and never missed a year. Well until the virus killed the 2020 Blues Fest. Hopefully it'll be back in 2021.
Just your basic 12 bar blues. Yes, I grew in Chicago. Muddy and Koko would sometimes play at my old high school back in the mid 70's. Spent many of nights at Wise Fools, Checker Board lounge, Quiet Knight up on Belmont and of course Rosas. Remembered being down on Maxwell street many years ago watching guys trying to play blues and it still had soul and character. Yes I gave it a big thumbs up and hit the replay button numerous times.
Ok, ok I am now convinced this man is officially a living legend. I was holding off to see if he might miss a note or fall into a style. He has mastered it all and well, I cant hold back anymore. Love it
YES, another Kirky video!!!!!! Man, the way you play rhythm and solo together, just so awesome! We're gonna need a few hundred more of these saaaweeeet videos good buddy!!! 😁😁😁
I can tell you love it Brother 😜. That was some sweet pickin'. The joy is all over your face and that's how it should be. God bless, love ❤️ and peace ✌️ o
Was head bopping and nodding and smiling right along with Mr. Fletcher. I love Chicago blues... but, I love ALL KINDS. Don't care if it's Chicago or Delta or Texas or whatever. If it's blues... IT IS BLUES :) But i know what he means about Buddy Guy. I downloaded a concert video of Mr. Guy out at Red Rock off TH-cam. He was supposed to be the "Opening Act" for somebody (don't even remember who it was). Man... I would have hated to go out there on that stage after him!!! He is one TOUGH act to follow :) Oh and... subbed and will be looking for more videos from Kirk Fletcher. The man HAS IT. When you have his talent... you don't need a whole band. You can sit there all by yourself and carry the feeling and the groove. I can't even imagine what he could do with drums and bass and maybe a Hammond to back him up. Hope I find out some day... but stuck down here in Florida right now. Can't find a proper blues club within a hundred miles of me... so TH-cam will have to do for now :(
Thank you for sharing, Kirk! I’m a huge fan of your playing, especially your rhythm guitar style. I always take something new away from watching you play and listening to you talk about the blues!
Enjoying all your lessons, awesome, bonnie playing & beautiful guitar sound. Just found your music this week. Best wishes from old, (72 yrs) guitar player in Scotland
That was just soul uplifting and put a massive 😃 on my face. The people who gave this s thumbs down , don't have ear for music . They probably think Ed sheeran and Taylor swift are artists
I saw Kirk play at the 100 club in London and what he couldn't get that strat to do wasn't worth doing, absolutely outstanding player! Please keep posting stuff Kirk and come back to the UK soon!
Fantastic major minor pentatonic mastery. Such soul . Why is this guy not signed to a record deal . He is bad ass man and playin clean . Playin clean like that dont tell no lies . Makes me wanna grab my strat . . Awsome playin . Sir
This clip sums up what I love about Kirk and his playing. He makes it look so simple, yet its really not. He plays it with a sense of joy, I can't help but smile. So funky, and so smooth!
We're lucky to have guys around who are so authentic to the style man. Absolutely fantastic. Just as I thought my rhythm playing was getting a bit better, I had to come and watch a Kirk Fletcher video. 🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I love this. Just sitting and comping chords over his leads trying to see how many substitution combinations I can come up with. I'm a big fan. Please keep this stuff coming.
This is GREAT stuff, I grew up in Chicago right down the street from Wrigley Field ( Kenmore & Grace) & I use to walk to these clubs, plus we had a Great Jazz scene back in the day, The Jazz Bulls was our go to place to see all the great jazz/fusion bands like 'Insight' & Made in Brazil, Herb Walker & Friends, Fareed Haque, & so many more, brings back great memories, thanks for sharing, I just subbed to your channel, stay safe my friend, Rock On & God Bless!!!
Nothing like Chicago blues. Muddy, the Wolf, Jimmy Reed, Little Walter, Magic Sam, the list goes on... I play guitar but I'm mainly a harp player these days. Paul Butterfield is one of my harp heroes. Great video, great playing. Maybe we will get the chance to jam someday, lol.

no effects, no percussion, no bass, no voice... just a clean guitar crying. Awesome.
That’s all true talent needs.
There is definitely some reverb
Harder to play when you are playing clean!
Not crying.... Doo dat doo doot doo do bloo do bla do
Yeah he's very good.
This man is one of the best blues players playing today ....👌👍👏
I’ve never heard of Kirk. I’m glad clicked on this. I wish I could do that.
If your amazing talent was not enough, your smile could light up a room! Love these videos. Thank you sir.
I'm feeling it!!
You insight is very valuable for the whole guitar community! Thanks sir! And hello from France!
I’m watching this, wow! I’m going to get this down into my soul. Going to take many repeats but not stopping until it’s mine!
Funny how 30 people 'thumbs down' a player who "Guitarist" deemed qualified to teach a Blues Masterclass. That is, a MASTERCLASS. Pretty sure he's bonafide.
I noticed there are those who play and those who just comment
cos' most are jealous
He is playing at Norms guitar store with some other guy both have 58strats, lately it doesn't matter I play alone and I'm good it's work just getting people together anymore
jealousy... :(
Josh Smith, himself in the top 10, said that Kirk is the best blues guitarist in the world.
I just converted this to MP3 and installed it as the ring-tone on my phone. Yeah!
This guy spreads pure joy! What a Dude.
Such control over dynamics and damping and keeping perfect time.
He da man!
If I could pick anyone in the world to “sound just like”, Kirk is the guy. Subbed.
Me too🎸, love his sound ♥️
Yea he has a sound indeed
Man, greetings from Brazil! I loved your sound!
He is really generous with teaching on this channel...

I could listen to this all day long.
The grin on his face says it all; he loves what he’s doing and I love what he’s doing too! 😃
