I 100% agree with everything you guys said about Kirk and his playing. He's old school and so dang talented. We were newlyweds bored out of our minds one summer afternoon. This is back in the late 70's. I was reading the Tribune in the backyard in the 100 degree heat. There it was, a tiny ad to see BB and Bobby Blue Bland at a small venue about 25 miles from the house. We showered and headed there. Can you say the best live show I've ever been to in my life??YES, easily. It was a sit where you like show. Somehow the people there took a liking to us then young kids and made sure we were right up front. Full band with horns and a huge vocals section. Thanks for the memories guys. Hi Jen....Cheers
I wish I could be there and spend some time with Kirk. I've been playing 36 years now, mostly self educating but I took few lessons from Oz Noy and Mike Stern when I was living close to New York City and what I've learned in those few hours with them helped me to connect the dots and it opened my eyes about how to approach the instrument and how to use the theory.
@@TheRange7 Nooo, that would be painfully slow, super inefficient, and not environmentally responsible. I was hoping Kirk would put in a good word for me with Scotty (in engineering) so he could beam me over. So much faster (just don’t spend a lot of time thinking about the ontological issues. Also don’t read youtube comments. A lot of time wasted otherwise…lol)
The man is an absolute legend. Imagine getting lessons off someone who’s that good and cool.

Kirk is one of my favorites. Old School to the bone Los Angeles

Not all great players are great teachers. I’ve asked several what did you just play & they replied I don’t know, I just did it w/o thinking.
What you say is true. But you can always learn something from them.
@@mario6759 100% Mario.....watch, listen, and learn...always.
How do I get lessons
I am located in Los Angeles CA
Is little Grace working the camera?
👍✌❤😎
Kirk has a good voice timbre. I've never heard him sing. Why ?
He sings all the time, check out his songs
I've heard him sing many times. He's got a great voice, very soulful and sincere IMO.
Kirk seems like such a cool guy, aside from being a brilliant blues man. Kirk is the man in my book right next to Albert and Freddie King!✌👍
