      The reason why Sam doesn’t go to John 10:11 here when explaining this passage is because the Greek word for “good” used in Mark is different to that in John. A sharp anti-Trinitarian or Muslim would point this out. It’s better to explain it from the context as Sam has done.

    • @Nuthor
      @Nuthor 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@coolmuso6108 I'm Greek and I know what I'm talking about. So tell to the sharp antitrinitarian or muslim that in koine the two words have the same meaning on ethical subjects. In some cases "Καλός" may also mean physically beautiful or handsome and "αγαθός" also means noble or brave. Do you really believe that Jesus called himself handsome, or that the person who was talking to Jesus (a man of the lower class) called him noble or brave?
      This is the reason after all that every English translation translate both of the words as good.
      As in english with word "good", both "Καλός" and "αγαθός" may also mean capable in a task or job. Jesus in Mark uses the word in a different way, in order to change the talk to speaking about the nature of God. That is from a capable teacher to an ethically good person.
      In modern greek we still use both words and as in koine they mean exactly the same in ethical issues.
      A greek antitrinitarian or muslim wouldn't be that sharp, if he used that argument against a greek trinitarian.

Once deciding there was "something" in the "good news" *read and meditate.* For me, on about the 20th time through the new testament (cover to cover) things in my life started to crystalize and become clear. Thank you Jesus for the free gift of the Holy spirit, *our teacher!* As to the lazy or those who's heart is not in the search for truth, no matter how many times the truths are explained they will continue to reject Christ and miss interpret Gods word.
    _..."Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are _*_converted_*_ and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:2-4)_

    I like to think, what if;
    as Jesus told the man,
    "Why do you call me good? No one is good but God..."
    Jesus started a very very subtle smile.
    That man had no idea that he was in the presence of the Holy One in the flesh. This Jesus was just a good "teacher" to him and Jesus knew it.
    Every time someone tried to direct attention to humans in general,
    even himself as a man in this case,
    his own mom, his family, the earthly or material, Caesar, etc.
    Jesus would always point out where the glory and focus of our heart is supposed to be,
    "No one is good but God alone..."

    • @khayatokwe
      @khayatokwe 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You are incorrect ,you don't take one verse in the bible and come up with conclusion,you look at the whole mission of Jesus and his teachings
      That verse does not mean that Jesus never had power before this declaration. Throughout the Gospels, Jesus demonstrates divine authority and power in his teachings, miracles, and control over nature and demons. The statement in Matthew 28:18 highlights the fullness of authority given to him, particularly in the context of his mission to send out his disciples to make disciples of all nations.

      @oete9259 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @khayatokwe and that us exactly what trinitarians do taking one verse out of context, then building upon strawman finally coming to a warped conclusion. Didn't trinitarians ever consider that if God wanted to declare trinity in John 1:1 he would have said so clearly and easily i. e 1:1" the eternal son was with God all things were created through him...done. that's 3 verses in 1 verse, john 1:1,2 & 3 condenced. All creation was "through" the son--if eternal, it had only to declare it .

    • @oete9259
      @oete9259 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The other principle lost on many is God's power is not only that which controls our laws of nature but is also classes as the authority to rule. Jesus was "given" both the latter was given him as he proved faithful to God thus earning the right to rule. "ask of me and I will " give" thee the heathen for an inheritance and the uttermost parts of the earth for a possession" psa 2:8

Then again it could be they were so tempted to kill him they didn't know the result. I think leaving the rich man in confusion about the identity of Jesus there makes it actually worse.
    11:52 "If he was convinced Jesus was God he would give it all up for his sake. Right?"
    12:24 "Because I don't think your God I'm not willing to give up my Idol, my love and lust for money for you. Because I love my money more than I love you."
    As stated above by Sam if he would had known Jesus is God then he would had given it up but since he did not he didn't give it up. Why should he trust a stranger and do what he says?
    As far as I know at that time there were many "messiah figures" roaming around. So why should he trust this one?
    Why leaving this man in a state of not knowing?

      Jesus gave him the answer in his instructions. “Why do you call me good only one is good and that's God alone!” Jesus gave the rich man an instruction based on him thinking his Perfect. Give your belongings to the poor and follow me. If he is just a teacher why wouldn't the teacher want him to give him his money? Instead Jesus said that you should give up everything in luding your me as to eat (money) because I will provide if you follow me. That's confident of Jesus to know he can provide. Hence why he asked him to give up everything. Only God can demand that of you. But the man believed in his stuff and not in the good rabbi! Then he walked away. Today everyone knows God exists. Jesus offered the gospel. Its free. Give up your thoughts and whatever possesses you like food, money, clothes, things, people etc and follow Christ. Bcus He will supply your every need and shape you to be more like Him. Any good teacher to change your mind. Which then changes your actions.

      If you worship a god that is NOT of the inspired Word of God, then you are an idolater. The person who limits God to what he or she wants, creates a new god that agrees with their world view. NOT the God of scripture. Please be aware of this and beware where your praise is going. Their are many times through out the Old Testament and New that show that God is 3 separate persons. God speaking to Moses from the bush yet the Angel of the Lord is with him. God sent his Holy Spirit upon Bezalel, the son of Uri in Exodus 31. God sent the Angel of the Lord (different than any other Angel in the Bible) to guide the people of Israel in a cloud by day and column of fire by night.

      @@richart2143 yet for me there is but one God, the Father. And there is one lord Jesus.
      I’m not an idolater.
      Jesus: “this is eternal life, that they know you (father) the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
      You probably are, because your “one” God is not the father.
      Now, read Colossians 2:4
      And then explain to me how God is triune, with scriptures.
      Who is the angel talking to Moses?

    You have a world of assumptions. The first to do this and the first to do that. You need to say the first recorded in the Bible is not proven to be the first.

    Jesus is the only God. He is the Father. There is no paganistic trinity. The word isn't even in the bible it's a man-made word used by people that cant understand that God the Father can be and is in all places at once and can be as many people as He wants to be. Those that pray to statues and dead saints of course will never understand any of this.

      Why don’t you watch Sam’s videos on the Trinity first. If you actually understood the Bible you would see that it’s all there.

      You literally made no argument whatsoever. Like literally no argument. there is a reason Jesus “taught” and didn’t just say random things out of context like you just did. You have no idea the context of Jesus’ words. You apparently have no idea how to interpret the Bible. A plot twist? A novel? You unashamedly blaspheme the Word of God? You do realize that the Bible consists of more than just 1 or two verses that “suit” what makes you comfortable right? There are more than 66,000 cross references in the Bible. Say it with me… c.o.n.t.e.x.t. Go and find out what that means instead of taking verses out of context to back up your demonic heretical beliefs.
      ide be careful before spitting out verses like this without knowing anything about what you even speak of. Satan does this very well and apparently has trained his disciples well also..
      John 8:44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
      Jesus told Nicodemus you must be born again. (He needed a new Father, he belonged to his father the devil) friend.. you also need a new Father.. humble yourself before God, before Jesus who is fully God and turn to Him and submit to His Word.
