Here's a quick version of my Houndstooth Weaving Tutorial -- just a quick review of the warping pattern, a reminder of the importance of a tensioning device, and then a careful look at the weft pattern (click over to minute 7:30), focusing on clean selvages.

How do you set up the heddles

There is only one heddle. It's a simple set-up. If you follow the pattern with the yarn colors, the heddle is a simple up shed/down shed.

How do you tread it? Does it use a pick up stick or a second heddle?

I use two shuttles. This pattern does not need a pick up stick, nor a second heddle.

Hi. Yes, you use plain weaving technique for this pattern. You won't need a pick-up stick or anything special.
