The newest wuwa survey is asking to implement PSEUDO DYNAMIC where playable character will be in the open world (just like SK, camellya and carlotta) but they ask how to implement it like how to trigger it, whether is by time like camellya/carlotta. I'm hoping them to make all characters in the open world and sometimes randomly patrol together, like with yangyang/chixia; giving daily quest reception by Baizhi/Mortefi. and I hope they all be voiced (Am I asking too much). This make the game feels more live
Ive always wanted that feature, we already have Shorekeeper be permanently in the overworld whwre shes just by the piano on the greenhouse. So why cant Jinhsi, Sanhua, and Changli be inside the jinhzou main hall?
We also already have midnight rangers patrolling in Jinhzou, and then theres the Somnoire event where your other two partners are AI controlled, so hey why not also do that where Yangyang, Chixia, and some other resonators are actually meet-able and would also fight some overworld TDs?
But... MCs can change elements and THAT changes how they play. They have different kits. So even that point is moot. Not to mention WuWa devs (idk about other games) already stated they're looking into costumes for MC, so even the way they look will changeable in the future. This Nero guy looks like he wants to play a MMO so badly and keeps downloading open world gacha games... and then complains these are not what he wants.
I do kinda wish MC could use Rectifier or Pistol weps some point in the future, but it's not a game-ending thing for me if they never did it, just a cherry on top.. and I understand the reasons like if anyone wanted to just main MC to cut costs from character banners it'd be bad for profit. Maybe his future elements could still be the same equipped weapon type but his Reso Skill/Forte changes it to casting laser drones or dual pistols/revolvers? Kinda like Havoc's Scythe attacks with Forte
18:19 you CAN change the class of the MC in these games tho, like how spectro rover is a sub-dps/support/healer, to havoc rover whos a hypercarry main dps character???
I watched that video i knew nda agreed with his sentiment but here the thing sure gi ,hi3 ,pgr or wuwa didn't do something ground breaking features but here the point this game aren't exclusive to pc or console gamers poor people like me who can afford a mobile can enjoy this pc like games on your mobile for free.Which is revolutionary it's self since it pushes the boundaries of what kind of games now you can play on your mobile.
I don't think Nero wants them to stay as Gacha at this point.. his idea of "stepping up" is having multiple characters being able to swap classes and weapons for free. That would mean the only things the Gacha game could sell is Weapons banner and Skins. The former can be worked around but the latter being skins.. is way harder to balance its price and quality worth. Also way more subjective, you can't put genuine reasons to buy them other than "but cool helmet/exposed abs/sexy cleavage!" Even when Honkai Impact 3rd did the buff for older character's battlesuits, they needed to sell 3 Gear pieces (Stigmatas) and their Signature weapon to make up half of their time/effort spent on the upgraded suit. Older, formerly OP Herrscher suits that slowly fell off, they just made sure we have to grind and use rare resources to reforge/upgrade their weapons.
I watched that vid cuz I agree with the sentiment... But the guy basically says that anything that doesn't vibe with all the things he wants isn't an RPG.
I agree with the OP that wuthering waves feels a bit dull. I have ran Rinascita and even though I hate running around as low AR, I genuinely feel attached to the world. As soon as I could, I immediately ran from Mondstadt all the way to Fontaine with only Noelle, Kaeya, Amber and Traveller. It was a gruelling experience, but the fact that I can experience this again at AR9 feels really good. Even if Wuwa has better combat, I don't feel attached to the world. If I restarted an account on Wuwa, I wouldn't feel like "OH MY GOODNESS I WANNA GO TO THE RINASCITA". Don't get me wrong I prefer the mature themes in Wuwa, but in terms of giving me something to feel attached to the game, I don't feel it as I feel it with Genshin. Even if I were to quit Genshin, I miss the characters I have met. Don't get me wrong, Wuwa is genuinely better in terms of exploration and being able to run up walls is really fun and I hate that events are locked behind the timeframe in genshin. I just feel that everything is trying to be like Genshin (Constellation, artifacts, world building) and they can offer more individualism
HSR is not ground breaking, case it's a typical turn-based gacha, there are hundreds of gachas like hsr in the market. Even infamous raid shadow legends is one of them.
As a console player, lets not also forget these games aren't just grabbing the mobile market but they've also reached the entire gaming audience on console and PC clients as well. There's no excuse for Gacha mechanics and waveplates time gating other than greed when 95% of all other games do not require casino level money to exist.
Sadly I don't have much hopes for Ananta being somehow groundbreaking or setting a new standard for gacha, purely because of the publisher. NetEase isn't exactly a beacon of hope. I do believe it'll at the very least be very good as a gacha though.
HSR is not first of its kind. similar gacha game is Alelier Resleriana for combat and Tales of the world: Radiant Mythology is similar in terms of the exploration. The exploration aspect of HSR is such a chore to do, HSR does not even need its exploration aspect.
Gacha games have potential but it's being hindered by the companies that are not trying to improve their game because the players are willing to continue to play and spend money on their game. Not only that we have players that defends them with any criticism being treated as an attack on their favourite gacha, even then they would move the goal post when met with stuff like the game storytelling is bad with "the gacha is like a VN" or "it is a gacha game what do you expect" or my favourite "the game is free be greatful". We have future competitors that is coming out with better animation for their storytelling and exploration, if they can listen to their player base on how to improve on their game it will be a wake up call to people to expect better.
To be fair, a free to play game that lock after the pay roll via in game purcharse can't be what the guy said. Sure they can give you certain level of freedom but in the end of the day they are service game, not a one time buy then you can play freely type of game so his complaining feels stretch at some point, even when they totally make sense to me. I don't know how much good devs like wuwa willing to push so the gacha games in future have to follow the new gacha fomart but in the end of the day they still want your money if they are greedy or no. It's nice when people speak out but they have to speak out in a realistic pov as well, if they truly want to create a masterpiece as he want they should have create anything but gacha game in first place
13:49 Azur Promilia mentioned potentially to change the gacha genre changer As a long time Azur Lane player and observer, I feel AP won't fulfill my expectation Palworld game type doesn't bring hype anymore (at least for me) WuWa raised the bar so high on gameplay Story-wise I have my doubt, AL story is not that great, mostly confusing Recent dramas & events, and no significant progress made me think Manjuu is not in their best state But I hope they invent new F2P-friendly ways how to obtain character

Realistically wuwa can implement it later in future knowing how our powers are. If we could control Jue and other Sentinel level beings under us we definitely weren't just expert on using a one handed sword , so weapons classes are definitely possible and so is the multiple skills and stuff. As for the character customisation , that can be a possibility too if your willing to stretch this thought even further assuming lord arbiter/rover was a god basically so he could change their character I mean we have a male and female version of ours anyways and being able to change genders would make sense for us to customize. I mean we were a god literally and if we "realistically" can change our genders or transform from one to other then theres no reason as to us not being possible to do different customisations. Now will it take a lot more work? Definitely. Would it change the game from gacha? Im not quite sure because definitely for MC , atleast for WUWA's MC this is very reasonable because we were a literal god and especially with the recent gender change addition the only way to make sense of the gender change in the lore could be this.
Its not Fortnite that perfected the battle pass. It was valve's DOTA 2. They were the first one to implement and perfect the battle pass system. They were also the first one to get out the battle pass system, scrapping it last year.
I'd say Fortnite Battlepasses are pretty good, because from what I've experienced prior to quitting Fortnite was that I bought the battlepass once, and there was enough V-bucks in the BP to continuously buy the next ones after. So to me, it was pretty much a one-time purchase, lol.
29:17 I believe this person simply worded it poorly. Take Sung Jin-Woo, the main character of Solo Leveling Arise (SLA), as an example. He has many unique skills that are exclusive to him. By experimenting with these skills and different artifact sets or combinations, you can adapt him to various roles-such as support, DPS, or sub-DPS-while maintaining his core element.
Well sla already had a base line for that ....and that's only in case of 1 character..... And same here in other gacha games like wuwa or genshin you can build your mc differently via elements and they have different roles .... different skills ..... It's kinda same ....
@AbHi12DaS Yeah, I get that, but E-thin explained in his own words that if they did that, it wouldn't be a gacha game anymore. That was the point I was trying to make. SLA is a gacha game while still doing what the guy in the video suggested. The fact that SLA already has a baseline isn’t the problem. The issue is that SLA doesn’t have the same creative freedom as WUWA, Genshin, or Star Rail. SLA already has pre-existing characters, while Genshin, WUWA, and Star Rail have blank slates to work with.
neat idea but the thing is... most gacha games made in china...well they made these chore/events. kids are limited time to play games...it has to be short content sorry bro. the new gacha at the moment i don't have high hopes

34:34 Yes both have issues, but you have to admit at a certain degree, that the western side are the most outspoken ones. As they say the loudest are the most prominent. The eastern side tend to be silent but have the most horrendous actions (assassination attempt for bunny skins, and being absolutely parasocial to 3d characters) While the west are really outspoken, but tend to stay at their keyboards (advocating boycott of hoyo games, while still playing their games) An outsider perspective would look at both and notice the more outspoken ones because they are the most prominent
I think it's very difficult to make these assumptions when most of y'all don't even speak Japanese, mandarin, Korean etc... so how would we truly know the difference in how "outspoken" east vs west is? we only know because of people translating for us, and those are only once and a while. it's not like most of us are over on their forms or on their own social media to be able to vet any of these claims. also E-thin brought up a really good point, is whining and crying on Twitter really that bad compared to actual threats of violence or aggression? yes whining and crying on Twitter is annoying, but you can quite literally just scroll past it and move along with your day just like any normal person would, which is probably what the video should have focused on, rather than pointing the finger, I think every community that is involved in gotcha is extremely toxic and the less we involve ourselves in it, the more at peace we will find ourselves to be.
We see a lot more of the western clowns because we ourselves are western. That, in combination with them just naturally being outspoken is a huge contributer to why when we think of "toxic Hoyo fans", a specific, western image comes to mind first. And on the subject of the guy who attacked Da Wei, that's an isolated incident. Hoyo is a Chinese company and their main office is in China. If someone in China really wanted the guy gone they'd have a much easier time going at it, compared to someone in the west. What I'm trying to say is that if Hoyo was a western company, or if Da Wei was located somewhere in America, it wouldn't surprise me if some lunatic here would try the same stunt. And before someone misconstrued the above paragraph, *I am in no way* justifying or glossing over the fact that an attempt was made on Da Wei. And I'm not saying that Eastern fans don't have their own crazies either. Both cases can be true, but perspective and context is important to have before making broad statements.
Sorry but dude lost me at the moment he brought up Zelda. Like why compare gachas to an AAA game which you can play ONLY on Nintendo Switch with price $59.99 while gachas can be played on ps, pc and mobile, and technically "free". I'll never understand a point in comparing two different worlds. Like my favorite game is rdr2, does the thought of compare wuwa to rdr2 slip through my mind? Never, i treat them differently and still enjoy both
I feel like you're way too dismissive when you say "it's not an MMO" - okay, but they're not asking for MMO raids and guild housing. They're asking for basic customization and skill trees all other RPG games have. If Gacha games want to improve, that's the direction they have to go. But of course going that direction threatens their bottom line, due to the nature of gacha. That's the problem.
