Im absolutley convinced that because the spot starts as a goofy, over friendly villain who doesn't really know how to use his powers effectively. To then become probably the biggest threat in the entire multiverse is what made him so great. I really believe it made his transformation from a goofball to a eldritch horror hit so much harder.

Miguel isn't evil. He is just heavily traumatized by the events of the canon being broken that he will go to lengths to make sure that never happens again
He’s also not a vampire, that’s a joke. the fangs are just one of his spider powers, he can use them to paralyze his foes
Yea Miguel is an antagonist, not a villain but antagonist.
Someone who opposes the protagonist or like disagrees but they are hostile.
Miguel in that moment was hostile.
Everyone keeps mentioning why Gwen is on Miguel’s side initially and not Miles. So far, Mike’s has only been to two other universes, with only several hours of reference to understand why keeping the canon is so important. Gwen has been “battling” for months against anomalies and has a better idea of the big picture of why anomalies need to be stopped and canon events must be preserved. Pavitr’s universe is in jeopardy of breaking down because of Miles’ actions; would pavitr forgive miles if he lost everything? Would miles forgive himself?
He's just an antagonist, not a villain like the first movie, Doc Ocs or Kingpin.

Few clarifications, Miguel isnt a vampire its just that his powers come from being merged with a normal nonradioactive spider meaning no spider sense but stronger physical abilities. That injection he gave himself keeps the spider part from going feral. He gets compared to morbius a lot in the comics too because he has fangs.
Spider's aren't "feral" though. This movie made him into Victor Creed Sabretooth for some reason.

Your theory about Miles being destined to be the prowler is right. On the other hand, the other Miles from Earth-42 was supposed to be Spider-Man in his universe. The spider was supposed to bite him. 16:32 watch closely as spot explains, for a second you can see the spider advancing towards Miles before it got sent into the portal.

Probably but the fact that earth 42 didn't collapse makes me think that no cannon was actually broken when the spider was transported and it was actually earth 42 miles's destiny to be the Prowler and earth 1610 miles's to be Spiderman ....

My favorite funny moment was when The Spot kicked himself and fell into a scary portal before he could finish his sentence. Also, you gotta admit that the one spot that makes up his face turning into a little dot was kinda cute.
I also liked how cartoony the first fight was. Between spinning in the car wash to the Foam Party becoming an actual foam party with Miles and Spot “dancing” to the kid taking off his mask, I couldn’t stop laughing the first time around.
The Lego sequence was put together not by a team of animators but rather by a 14-year-old kid named Preston Mutanga. He has his own TH-cam channel called LegoMe_TheOG. Sony heard about his work and reached out to him with this incredible job offer. Preston is gonna go far.

The head-writers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller invited Karan to the writers’ room to pitch in ideas for Pavitr. They were aiming for his character to be culturally specific.
In the comics, Pavitr wasn’t bitten by a radioactive spider. Rather a yogi granted him spider powers through magic. However, there’s no confirmation that it works the same way in this film.
Pavitr fights using an Indian martial art called Kalaripayattu. A small animation team from Kerala, India was tasked to help animate Pavitri's movements. His Spidey mask has design inspirations from Theyyam, a Hindu ritual from Kerala.
Malala Windsor, the British Spider-Woman with the hijab, is an original character created for this movie. This direct incarnation of Spider-UK was never introduced in the comics, but after this she might eventually get her own run.
The Spider-Man who told Miles there was nowhere to run and then apologized to everyone for his mistake was record producer Metro Boomin’ making a cameo. He curated the soundtrack for this film. The deluxe edition has six bonus tracks aside from the main thirteen.
Peter is a great mentor but also an irresponsible father for bringing Mayday to a steel mill with all kinds of equipment that can easily harm her.
Miguel has the best of intentions with preventing the multiverse from collapsing, but I didn’t like that he called Miles a mistake and blamed him for everything that happened. Miles never asked to get bitten by a radioactive spider, but he’s doing his best and making the most of the situation.
And finally, it’s weird but also cool that Earth-42’s version of J. Jonah Jameson and The Daily Bugle would actually support a Spider-Man rather than call him a menace all the time.
Going into this, I knew we were gonna be left on a cliffhanger. This movie was originally a two-parter. They ended up renaming the third movie Beyond the Spider-Verse, but the concept remains the same.
I mean, have you seen the universe without a Spider-Man? With all those buildings on fire, JJJ would probably be happy that someone’s going around dealing with the crime.
Besides, his main issue with Spider-Man is that he wears a mask. He doesn’t hate that Spider-Man saves people or stops criminals, but he hates that Spider-Man basically gets to act outside the law and not have any repercussions for the mistakes he does make like police officers who have their identities public while fighting crime. Also in some versions of Spider-Man JJJ had an abusive dad, but no one would believe JJJ because his dad acted like a kind war hero; so JJJ believes Spider-Man must also have some ulterior motives because he wears a mask to hide his true identity just like his own father did. So there’s sometimes that extra zing of trauma added to it where JJJ is determined to prove that this “hero” may not be the upstanding guy everyone thinks he is because that happened to JJJ with his father and he doesn’t believe anyone wearing a mask doesn’t have anything to hide in regards to good character.
correct, miguel’s intentions are good, but his actions are wrong. i think he’s projecting into miles, his own insecurities and trauma. thinking that in order to prevent the universe from collapsing, he must let things happen, instead of finding another solution. i understand miguel, but hopefully next movie miles will show him differently. it’s such a wonderful movie!!
When Gwen was explaining to Jess that she'd only been this 👌 close to Miles it reminded me that she's still very much a kid, a troubled teen.
The rest of the fandom is giving her too much sh*t
Edit: Also, one of the main reasons that viewers thought Gwen was a bit cold here is because they cut off some of the audio from the bridge from the theatrical release, which in most's opinion, was crucial to seeing her development and reasoning, as well as her true feelings for Miles. Seeing that version as canon, we can say she _does_ deeply care for him. She's just a teenager torn between two sides, a society that took her in when she was homeless the past months, and her one living best friend.
I hate Jess more than I hate Miguel, whole movie she was just bitchy and unlikeable outside of her opening scenes.

I love all the reactions to Kilometer Miles, it's such a good build up and he looks badass w/the braids.
Miguel isn't vampire, he's half spider because his DNA was changed when he tried cure himself from drug addiction. (His father don't want him to leave from alchamex so he inject him with drug Rapture which bonds with your DNA so you gonna be addict for life and his co-worker sabotaged DNA changing process and He became half spider - that's the reason why he Is sensitive to light, have venomous fangs and organic webs). He had pretty crazy origin story.
I don’t know if someone mentioned what happened to Peni yet, but one of her big cannon events has more than likely already happened. And judging from the actual mech she’s using for this scene, I had a good idea on which one:
She mad a friend, Addy Brock, who would become the pilot of the V3-NM, or ‘Venom’ mech, but after a fight with the enemy, the black mech began to assimilate not only its pilot, but also Aunt May. By the time Peni took down the rogue V3-NM, it was already too late- both hostages were already dead, leaving Peni dismayed…

Your theory that the Miles we know was destined to be the Prowler is correct, if you watch the first one, (Into The Spider Verse). When Miles interacts with Spider Man for the first time, his spider sense changes from Pink/Green to Red/Blue.
Pink/Green = colors of the Prowler
Red/Blue = colors of Spiderman
Confirming that his destiny changed.

Awesome reaction and you were spitting at the end about Miles going to be Prowler in his original universe. If you go back and rewatch the scene where Miles meets the original Spider-Man, the background behind Miles changes from green/purple (Prowler) to red/blue (Spider-Man).

I was a bit apprehensive when I first saw the trailer for portraying Miguel O'Hara aka Spider-Man 2099 in an antagonistic way because Miguel is a far cry from a villain and he's also my all-time favourite Spider-Man in the comics but the movie did an amazing job for portraying him not as the villain but more like an opposing force. Also just to clarify, he is not part vampire. That was just a joke they made in the movie becuse he has fangs which can secrete paralyzing venom.
And also because he’s frequently compared to Morbius in the comics, who really is a vampire-bat thing.

As a decades long spider-man reader I had no interest when alternate versions of the character appeared. Mainly because back then Marvel insisted they would never be a part of the Marvel Universe proper. I would have read them had I known where it would lead. More importantly I'm happy to see how it has opened the character up to a wider, more diverse audience. Now I know the character will live forever.
Miguel is not a vampire it is actually a side effect of his Powers that gave him a spider's paralyzing bite.

Lore explanation: spider man 2099 is a man-made spider man, as in his universe is a future with Spider man being a myth. The strange thing that he injects is a man-made spider-serum!
The trex spiderman: was a pterodactyl(peter), chased by a t-rex(Norman Osborne), as they get hit by a radioactive, asteroid that gives them powers, new skin patterns and swapping souls/bodies

Im pretty sure at this point both Miles' parents know spiderman is Miles but they just arent coming out to say it. The dad knew since the first film. I think the mom knew since this film. The parents have parent sense and spiderman(miles) kept trying to connect to Lieutenant Morales by fist pumping him and hugging him, something a son would do. I think the third movie both parents will connect the dots and say they know theor aon is spiderman.

Hobie is the freakin' GOAT, and I agree, this one was like 10 times better than the first one!
And I love how the Black folk have each other's back: both Hobie and Margo (the cyber spider lady) helped Miles out even when everyone else was chasing him... even when Gwen and Peter B stumbled. Need to see that in media more.
I realized that Gwen has easily fallen under Miguel's manipulation but when he tries the same thing on Miles, Miles is like "Uh hell no one that's messed up that I have to accept things as they are. 2 You really expect me to just let my dad die because some stupid algorithm says so? No way! I'm doing my own thing." Only then does Gwen realize "What have I done? I not only broke Miles's trust but his heart as well." In the 3rd movie Miles will have a hard time trusting certain spider people those being Gwen & Peter.
Miguel is my second favorite antihero/third favorite antagonist for one good reason: hes not wrong
Allow this breakdown of actions, timeline wise
Spiderman 2099 invents safe multiversal travel
His first idea with it, is to recruit more spidermen and women across the multiverse in order to protect the multiverse
Thats an absurdly good action
Then, this is assumption but makes sense time wise, as soon as he feels enough security with his spiderverse team, he happens across a universe where he can have a family, alternate him dies, so he replaces him
Again, he does nothing bad, he does not kill his alternate self, and alternate him would probably be cool with it because his families being protected by a spiderman
His actions result in that universes annihilation, including his adopted daughter fading from existence in his arms
O O F
afterwards, he rededicates himself to his spiderverse team, using what he learned from his traumatizing incident to ensure it doesnt happen again
Again, major good being done there, he committed a serious mistake, owned up to it, and is taking every precaution to ensure it never happens again, what more could you ask of him
Now, one day, a collider does an experiment, sending a spider from one universe, to another universe, in so doing, a child gets bit, and spiderman dies to save him
This is an utter catastrophe in every sense of the word, unsafe multiversal travel, events that cannot be undone, and a spiderman has died
Yes, the leak is eventually fixed, but now holes are opening everywhere, and he has to fix it via his spiderverse team, which has clearly been annoying for him based on the vulture fight
THEN, you find out that this kid, who was never meant to be spiderman, is butterfly effecting the shit out of everything from what happened, and spot gets created, this multiversal threat, AND the kid is now jumping universes
Miguel has every right to be pissed at this point
AND YET, when possible, he takes the time and patience to explain to miles exactly how all this works, his own tragic expierience, and why they do what they do
Which also means he told EVERY spider how this works, meaning hes very honest with his group and people, another great quality
THEN, this kid, who hears all this and the cataclysmic repercussions, and, well, as he says, nah, imma do my own thing, and tries to leave to save his dad
Miles straight up said to miguels face, i get gun safety, but im going to play with this gun in a filled room of bystanders anyways because emotion
Not only is Miguel right to be pissed about that, but he gets it, he understands it, its the same stuff that caused his actions and KILLED AN ENTIRE UNIVERSE AS A RESULT

With everything Miguel has been shown to know and have done, his assumptions have been correct, miles being an anomaly is something they will use to prove him wrong in the next movie, but that also means, with regards to everything except, by assumption, miles, hes been right and proven right by his own history
2. Miles not wanting to have bit doesn't matter, at all, he was bit, Peter died, the timeline has been corrupted and unfixable, whatever miles thinks or says doesnt change that fact
3. I'm so sick of how many people argue the saving one person thing, let me explain this, explicitly
If miles saves his dad, it may result in his universes destruction
That includes Miles dad and possibly Miles himself
The fact so many people would willingly put so many innocent lives at risk to save one person, regardless of emotional attachment, borders on evil to me, it's so explicitly selfish, self centered, and disregards logic

That’s all true, however you missed the fact that the entire first movie takes place before Miguel discovers how to safely travel the multiverse, given the fact that the post credit scene of that movie has Miguel and Lyla discussing the events of the movie, before Miguel tests the first “prototype” of the watch. This doesn’t change anything you said about Miguel’s morality, however it completely changes the timeline you laid out, and explains why Miguel didn’t just send the spider back immediately, as well as why Miguel was so serious in this movie compared to being so jokey in the last one.

So original part 3 was meant to be coming out next year(that was the original plan) but so many reasons why this wouldn’t happen is 1.there’s no way the movie would be ready cause I know for a fact that the miles Vs the spider society scene would’ve sucked to animate since so many hours would’ve been put into for just 1 second of it, cause you’ve got all this stuff happening like movement of individual characters and then having them all be different shapes and sizes. So the animators would need a lot more time if they wanna top this. 2.idk if you guys are aware of this but I’ll explain it anyways for those who don’t, the writers and actors are on strike, the writers have been on strike for about 2months now and the actors I believe have been on strike for a month, so not much happening atm so I wouldn’t be suprised if the VFX artist or animators strike as well since companies haven’t been paying them well and also the use of AI

To be fair, Spot can blame only himself about what happened to him. He's not being forcing to work with Kingpin & Doc Oc. He's chosed that by himself. I really wish and hope that Beyond The Spider-Verse is at least 3hrs long and probably gets a PG-13 rating maybe if they want to, making it the film Sony Pictures Animation film to get a PG-13 rating.
I really hope we get to see some live-action sequences with Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jon Favreau, Jacob Batalon, Zendaya, Emma Stone, Bryce Dallas Howard, Kristen Dunst, Marisa Tomei, Sally Field, Rosemary Harris, Thomas Haden Church, Rhy Ifans, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina, Willem Defoe, and especially Nicholas Cage as Spider-Man Noir (I also hope he returns to reprise the role in a live-action series of Spider-Man Noir as a live-action verison)
I also heard that Hailee Steinfield wants to return as a live-action verison of Spider-Gwen. If it does happen, I also hope Emma Stone and Bryce Dallas Howard returns as Gwen, but as Spider-Gwen in a different universe.
