Hi George, well done! I've been studying with Chungliang Al Huang since 1992 and his teaching and sharing about Tao philosophy and Tai Ji practice is really amazing! I've been teaching Tai Ji for 30 years and Five Elements form is the first one I share with my students. It would be nice if you add 'Embrace Tiger, Return to Mountain. The essence of Tai Jì' by Chungliang Al Huang in your recommended reading list. By the way I wrote two books - 'Il Cielo sopra, la Terra sotto' and 'Tai Ji, Danzare la Vita' - about Tai Ji and hopefully they are being released in English in the next months. Happy Qi from Italy, Giuseppe Urselli

Hi Giuseppe, it's truly an honor to connect with someone who has studied under Chungliang Al Huang. His teachings have touched many lives, including mine. Thank you for sharing your experience and the recommendation! Your books sound incredibly insightful, and I'm sure they'll be a valuable addition to the Tai Ji community. Sending warm regards and happy Qi right back to you! 🌿🌟🙏

I love this video beautiful and dynamic! Thank you for offering a teaching today. I do appriciate the explanation of the energies of the elements. I feel it helps me channel the energy of the forms better. Maybe thats something you could elaborate more on 🙏🌲🔥🌊

Qi Gong is a combination of breath and slow movements with a focused mind. In my humble opinion , Just movement is only a choreography . One can’t grasp the Qi around or move into the body .Slow movements allow to be present in order to guide the Qi inside . At the end of any form we always collect the Qi covering Du Qi with the palms over the navel - DanTian .
Thank you George for sharing your Fire archethype lots of Yang and Joy. 🎉

    Possibly a daft question alert:
Not sure if you have covered this in a previous video, but I'm currently (and cautiously) dipping into Tao Te Ching for the first time and would love some insight into any interpretations of what 'The Empire' represents.
I'm thinking the links to the empire one creates in their own life and possible the empire of their own mind - but I'm wondering if there is any symbolism I'm missing?
    Many thanks and great vid😃

So from my school: wood = outward movement away from body, earth = inward movement towards body, water = circular movement, fire= upward movement, metal = downward movement. I can see some similarities

      Thank you for sharing! 😊

    • @Jon-ov4nc
      @Jon-ov4nc ปีที่แล้ว +1

Less to do with direction.... It's about activation of the corresponding yin organs. Wood = liver, earth = spleen, water = kidneys, fire = heart, metal = lungs
I do tai chi and xing yi
Unlike tai chi, in xing yi this forms the foundation of the entire style. Directionality is often implied but is not the defining feature. Using metal as an example I don't have to chop downwards... I could split forward, outwards, or inwards too. What unifies them all (with metal as an example) is compressing the lungs and then releasing that compression to impart energy into the stance.

Amazing, thank you! I have one question: Can you tell me which camera you are using here and which lenses? :)
Also, can you recommend me a good camera for making interviews, travell videos like yours but on the "Budget" side. Not super cheap, but something normal. Thank you and keep going!

      I am using a Sony A seven S3 with a Sigma 24 to 70 mil lens.
A smartphone with a tripod and microphone is easily good enough quality to make something great. I always recommend starting with that.
      Happy creations!

Newbie question, but why did you choose this order, instead of the feeding order Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, Wood? or even the controlling order?
