I watch a ridiculous amount of bass fishing videos….TRF undoubtedly my favorite. I’ve been bass fishing for over 45 years, and I not only learn new stuff from Tyler, but I also get excited to get out on the lake after watching his videos! Thank you Tyler.
I watched the whole video and I’ll have to watch it a couple times more because there’s so much information in this production. And it’s a production, Tyler! You’re editing, your comedy, you are an amazing producer, story teller, creative videographer. The list goes on. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I put in a solid 18 months before my first jig bite. Now I don't go out without one tied on. Fishing heavily pressured ponds can leave you skunked for long durations of time. But persistence finally yielded some confidence. Keep on keeping on. ✌🏾
I feel so blessed when i hear stories like these. Caught fish the day i started, and went on to catch atleast one a day because i loved it so much. Found my own honey holes
Not gonna lie, I use videos like this at .75 speed to listen to as I fall asleep. Love the info. Tyler, do a series of longer videos like this and I'll listen to one every night.
I've been avoiding jigs for the reasons you've mentioned. I will definitely go back and start this over. You have an excellent way of presenting material. I really enjoyed this...
I’ve attempted to use jigs in the past and always ended up losing/snagging them. I never really knew how to fish them. Watched this yest morn, tied on a jig with a Keitech trailer and caught 8 bass. THANK YOU, Tyler!! Your videos have helped me!!
I learned to bass fish with lures last year with a lot of help from your videos. Caught 100 bass from July thru October, mostly throwing swim jigs from the shore. Just wanted to say thanks!
Caught my first bass on a jig this weekend. Black and blue with blue rage trailer! So much fun in around weeds and grass. First time fishing with braided line too after 20 years of fishing LOVED IT!
Tyler I was just going over the other jig videos yesterday, to refresh my memory and learn what I might of missed. And I was also going to comment on your next video if you can do a video about skipping a lure. And today I saw you made a new video and it had everything. Thank you, I think we all appreciate you for your videos. Can you do a separate video going over skipping like a separate one. I think we will all appreciate it. 🙏
That may the best overall fishing video I’ve ever seen - covers every detail, equipment, etc. I’ve committed to using these baits a lot more this year so it’s just what I needed as things are heating up! Much appreciated!!!
Jigs are def the most slept on lure in my bag, and I’ve been wanting to get a better grasp of them for a long time now. Thanks for this video my g you’re my fav tutorial guy by far
You don't need to get too technical keep pauses and retrieves simple. Use 4 casts if no bites move. Start with fast retrieve pause 3 to 5 seconds. If no bites try moderate retrieve 7 to 10 seconds pause. Then slow retrieve 12 to 15 seconds pause. Add occasional pops and rod tip raises 2 to 3 times during retrieves. Also, pause 1 second, then retrieve no more than 4 seconds increments, then pause 1 second. Add an occasional pop to rod or rod tip raise. You can do this with all different types of jigs. 😊
I took your advice and started fishing jigs. The first fish I caught this year was a 6lb largemouth (my PB) on a black and blue finesse jig. Really appreciate the video looking forward to many more
Whew! You covered a ton of material, fast. If I had the opportunity, I'd vote you a national bass fishing education treasure. I'm getting close to the end of my fishing trips; your seminar has inspired me to spend some of the time I have left learning how to use a jig. Thanks. I suppose I should invest in a new rod and reel. As I look back, the only time I used a jig was as a teenager, cane pole jigging the edge of tules the week before going back to school in the fall.
You give out so much information and instruction in your videos! On top of that you love the Lord and give him all the Glory! Be blessed brother! Definitely gonna be buying some product from your shop.

Day 4 of only fishing jigs until I learn them, and no fish. Hits yes, but I’m struggling with the hook set I think. It feels like I’m not hitting hard enough and they’re spitting I’ll get it. Using all your videos to help me, and they really are, alot. Thank you so much dude. Great video and info. What impressed me the most was how you handled the last fish. Even when super excited as soon as you went to hold it horizontal you supported the belly and a gentle release vs flipping it back in.
Brother, if you hold the bass by the jaw like that there is a good chance it will break or dislocate its jaw, making it unable to feed and eventually die. Either support its body weight if you hold it horizontal or just hold it by the jaw and keep it vertical.
Definitely needed this video. Caught my first swim jig bass after watching one of your previous swim jig videos. The is one bait I need to build confidence in. Everyone seems to love it but me…😂

How about line choice, leaders especially on the swim jigs, do you think the that braid your throwing has an effect on the bite or what kind (brand) of braid and weight would you throw with the least amount of presence? disregarding dark water of course.
I've found this in fish the trailer and it doesn't brake down in there belly. There made out of ⁉️ silicone ⁉️ and will it kill the fish. Just wondering had a soft plastic on a hook and it rotated out the hook 🪝 and fell apart in 2 months around.🤔

Just stumbled across your channel. Awesome knowledge. I love fishing for bass and just recently got back into fishing. Trying to figure out good jigs or lures in general. Jigs are fun to use though. I also fish with my dad who is a big walley fisher. Would these jigs work for that to? Also it is very weedy/seaweed where I live at, the lake around me. Tend to get caught up in them very easily with underwater stuff here in MN. Would this still be viable in it or would I be fighting seaweed on every cast? Thanks!! About to go watch another video of yours. Lol
There really is no easy answer to that question. The best lure all depends on all the conditions combined: water clarity, time of year, water, temperature, forage species, cover type, etc. TONS to consider. Whenever you have a fishing question or technique you want to learn, search “TylersReelFishing ____” on YT and in that blank, put the topic you are curious about. Odds are, ive already made a video about it👍🏼
I tried a jig with craw trailer last week. I kept getting hung on branches small ones. Jig weed guard felt soft so I tried a couple more and would hang them also. So frustrating so what am I doing wrong I thought you could bring a seedless jig through stickups and small trees. Used floro line. Any helpful tips
Your weed guard might be too thin, or you are just fishing it in very thick areas. Pick up one of the juice jigs linked in the video description, and see if that jig feels any different down there.
I've been trying to experiment on color differences with a bladed/vibrating jig. What's your opinion on a red craw bladed jig with the Keitech paddle tail Houdini color? The keitech swim bait I'm referring to has a clear-ish bottom with silver, gold, and black flake, topped with a green pumpkin top with red, gold, and black flake. My lake is typically stained with rock bottom or straight bare with very few in-between brush piles.

I already know how to do that skip a jig cuz I tried to be very first time doing it and I am getting better
Nice!
I usually try to match my jig to my trailer as a general rule of thumb
I’ve been waiting for a video on this!
More to come!
I have learned so much!!

I can skip almost any lure, including poppers and crankbaits. How's that prototype lews reel? Any idea when it will be on the market?
New reel is dang awesome. Comes out this fall! I have a video coming out on it soon that you’re not gonna want to miss
