About a month in the making and desperately trying to fit this in between injuries and school times, finally we did it, really really proud of how this job and video came out, could honestly barely see a thing the entire time when cleaning due to all the splash back on my glasses but i had so much fun getting it done. I actually went to this school. There is a story behind this playground and why it was built. A young boy in my class unfortunately lost his life whilst at school through an asthma attack. This playground was built in his memory, the J in the middle is to remember Joe, we as his class actually got to choose the design of the playground, I remember watching it being built and being the first allowed to go onto the playground. We spent hours on this as children and it’s nice to see it in such good condition again after 11+ years.
We had a story like that in my school a boy had bad asthma and some how died from another boy spraying strong cologne on him at recess, we all prayed together outside as a school and planted a tree for him ❤ rip chandler 💕
I’ve got a large wooden play structure in my garden which I cleaned last weekend. If I’d filmed it, it would have contained lots of swearing, it was such a pain to do 🤣 I should have called in a professional!
I do 500m2 rubber floor on playgrounds on average per week (we do other stuff as well). Nobody ever asks us to clean the equipment, but I can help but to give it a quick spray.
First playground cleaning I’ve watched. As a retired elementary teacher, I really appreciate you doing this so well. Sadly I’ve seen lots of improperly functioning playground equipment, even dangerous with exposed jagged hardware and broken equipment. So thanks for doing such a wonderful job. I remember coming to school after a summer and the playground being all tidied up like that, it was like getting a whole new playground. I'm sure your work on this playground will be remembered by at least one kid like me who will think back and smile and secretly thank the unknown person who brought back the colors.

It's the same in many parts of the US too sadly. Luckily most of the playground I've seen are upkept, but a lot of conservative states and non-white communities often don't even have playgrounds. This is at least in my experience.

That's why they make caretakers do it... I used to clean the whole of early years playground every half term.... I absolutely hated it because it took so much time... My knees are completely ruined because of long hours standing. What I started doing was to take weeks doing only a few hours a day. By the time I finished the other side needed doing again. Headteachers take advantage of caretakers because they are so underpaid...

When you get knots like that, take a tennis ball and put it between you and a wall. Lean into it and shift gently so the ball rolls over it. You can also get a roller online. Magnesium tablets also help. Take with plenty of water. It helps the muscles to repolarize so they relax easier.
It's a gorgeous difference. So fresh looking, bright and the good news is that the little darlings can play on the equipment once again. Love the drone shots at the end. Sorry you had an injury to your neck muscle.
The difference is stunning! The blue was my favorite transformation, but seeing how the pink might have been orange originally was surprising as well. Glad you took care of yourself; a week is worth not permanently ending your career from injury.
Beyond the issue of "slips, trips and falls", which are very important, it just looks so much better. Coupled with the kids feeling valued as others are looking out for them. Excellent. I'm mid 50s and I want to play on it.

Perhaps it's better for everyone if he charged for it, but donated the fee back to the school. Possible tax deduction, the school can demonstrate that they did get the playground cleaned and when.
Colours came out great, soo much brighter - looks like a new playground. Hopefully the kids will be allowed on it soon. Blue looked brightest to me, although I do like the purple - reminds me of a Reliant Scimitar I owned in same colour!

I went to school at Emerson College in 1988, and have very fond memories of my time and many walks there! Thanks for brining back so many memories! I love the tile roofs, stone and walkways! So good to see this type of cleaning. In Canada, there are next to no houses with Slate or ceramic tile roofs. They're all tar tiles--not nearly so nice, and only last at most 20-25 years. The difference is massive! Pressure washing is a tough job without a torn shoulder, impressed you managed to get back to it so soon! Blue's the best colour imo too. I'd love to see more of the full rinse down at the end of videos (the clean up the mucky run off at the end) x

So glad you learned how to do this kind of cleanup. Much appreciated. That muscle problem getting resolved is good. So the final stage of cleanup is cleaning up sludge and then rinsing off the asphalt/tarmac? The playground is renewed, a really nice job.
Looks like it might have been a few years since it was actually Cleaned. Stuff like that really should be cleaned Min. once a year. The Wood should get sanded some and then either stained or lacquered. For the ground, You should try to get a Stiff bristle Broom that can try to loose up the tough stuff loose. makes it easier to clean.

it turned out more orangy on camera but in person it was definitely more of a pinkish coloour! and definitely!

Great video. I spent the first half with my mouth open 😲. The wood was amazing. Loved the $ shot of those old moldy barnacles just disappearing. Whole thing, just brilliant. The transformation as you were doing it was awesome to see ;) You are a fine young man Sid, keep up the good work! And be sure to do epsin salt baths because they pull all the toxins out of your muscles and the stiffness. Really important when you do the physical work you do Take care!

So glad you learned how to do this kind of cleanup. Much appreciated. That muscle problem getting resolved is good. So the final stage of cleanup is cleaning up sludge and then rinsing off the asphalt/tarmac? The playground is renewed, a really nice job.
Yeah the sludge is gone but the tarmac wasn't part of the original thing I have offered though (:

Looks like it might have been a few years since it was actually Cleaned. Stuff like that really should be cleaned Min. once a year. The Wood should get sanded some and then either stained or lacquered.
For the ground, You should try to get a Stiff bristle Broom that can try to loose up the tough stuff loose. makes it easier to clean.
Always amazed at how much water that ground surface soaks up. Seems like you can go over it 10 times and would still pull up dirt.
Yeah there was one part I had to leave a hose on for a few minutes to flood it, honestly don’t know how it can hold so much
It's like a congealed rubber gravel, isn't it? Lots of spaces for dirt to hide
