Great Video Geoff, I've had the pcb's from illuminated models sitting on my shelf for over a year, You have certainly given me the umpth to crack on with my own NMT 😁 All the best Tony.
Hi Geoff, good to see your pendolino behaving itself, they are gorgeous trains. The NMT is fantastic, nicely done. Talking of which I need to modify mine, lol The dapol HSTs are a real success story, look great and run beautifully, esp with updated livery. Thanks for heads up on 73
hi John , yes i must say all the dapol HST's i have all run with out issues . being picky ive had to change the couplings ( sounds similar) for the hunt couplings and now it excellent . looks like many are having issues with the class 73 , Cheers Geoff
Great video Geoff. I expect most people watching were shouting"send it back" but full marks for persevering for the sake of the video. The flying banana mod is another must do for the future. Brian Essex Thameside in N
Hi Geoff - the flying banana with the extra coaches looks superb. I picked the basic set up at TINGS back in September. Will need to check out the guy who does the other coaches. I've read other reviews of the Gaugemaster loco and most said it was a poor model - thing I'll not add it to my collection. Nice running views as always. Cheers Euan
Hi Euan , yes the other coach's are really good . Alan ( ARXMODELS on ebay) has just finished a few more for me including the DBSO for the structural Gauging train . I hope to show that In the next video . yes the feedback has not been positive for the class 73. Cheers Geoff
I got the dutch 73 and the same problem, the bogie was fouling on the chasis rails and kept stalling, i did initially think it must be my track as i wouldnt have believed a new model could be that bad. Mine was re-packaged and will be sent back, i couldn't get a full circuit out of it without the hand of god. Real shame as it is a lovely looking model.. Just a quick update, I received a new class 73 from Hattons and i can say after a good run in it runs quite well with no chassis issues. It is quite noisy but with a piece of lead strip placed in body over the motor it is quiter and goes over points acceptably well, i pressume due the inertia achieved with the extra weight. It doesn't quite creep but does run slowly enough to give a scale look. I know we shouldn't have to modify a new loco but i like it enough to keep it. Gareth.
hi Alan, Alan ( ARXMODELS on ebay) has just finished a few more for me including the DBSO for the structural Gauging train . I hope to show that In the next video . the laser PCB www.ebay.co.uk/itm/223628686975 are made by Illuminated models . Cheers Geoff
@@flinthillsmodelrailway Thanks Geoff, so do you know which coaches I am missing, I have the gaugemaster set?... :) Also, I know I might have asked before but where are your fabulous loco sheds from?
Great train, Geoff, and your upgrades really made it pop even more. Looks fab running the layout. It is a shame about the weaknesses of the 73 car from Gaugemaster! Hopefully, you will sort it out.
Greetings Geoff 🌞 fantastic video 👏👏👏 very interesting feature on adding the lighting effects 💡 will definitely have to give those a go 💃😁 Shame the 73 has been reduced to such plastic rubbish 🗑 the previous versions were a lot more solid 😪 not a patch on the 33 though ❤ Very best wishes from County Wicklow ☘️
Good grief! That 73 is certainly a shocker! I hope you get a decent replacement. All of my Dapol diesels and electrics are excellent (if sometimes noisy) runners so fingers crossed.
Hi. I’m away on holiday so don’t have full access to accounts Arxmodels is a seller on eBay. His very good . I’ve purchased many igg th ems from him. If there is something you want that not on his eBay site just message him and he will sort it Geoff
@@flinthillsmodelrailway its a shame it ran so badly. the frame is v flimsy plastic and they are very light. i got lucky and my two run ok so far. i wish someone would make a new version of the 73 though (and a new class 74!)
Hi Geoff not a good advert for Gaugemaster I think I'd have sent it back after I tried it on the rolling Road. The flying banana's look brilliant however I don't know how you n gauge people do it. I have problems soldering in 00. Hope you get the loco sorted atb Andy
Hi Andy , thanks for your comments, I have solder the small items through a big lit magnify Glass. i sometime feel like a doctor doing key hole surgery . Geoff
Interesting to see the fitting of the lights. With two flying banana you must have some of the best track work in the country. Very surprised at how poor the design of the class 73 is. You don't expect the chassis to be anything other than parallel to the wheels. Stephen
Hi Stephen , glad you enjoyed the latest video , the track is good however i get the odd point issue sometimes . must be the wrong dust on the line , back to the real world lol cheers
I was really bummed out, I picked up a full set of the NMT on eBay with these extra coaches made by the same person I believe, but the day of posting them the seller dropped two of the coaches onto the kitchen floor & they were badly damaged so I had to have a refund & it escaped my grasp :(
Nice upload. Like it very much. Thanks for sharing.
thanks for the feedback most welcome , Geoff

Great review, pity they didn’t notice that before shipping out on the smaller one. Thanks for sharing with us, regards, Chris

Thanks for the feedback . I did wonder if others were having the same issue, clearly no the best model produced , Geoff
I’ve got the new 43 set as well, pleased with it, but would love the additional coaches… The lasers and detailing on your 2012 model looks fantastic.

Ah. I just saw your shortcut and found the site. Disregard my last question. Thanks
hi , no problem . hope you found him ok ??

hi Steve , Yes never had an issue like this before . yes its going back , spoke to dapol and Gaugemaster today
Geoff I can't find ARX Models. Can you check it still exists please? Thanks

class 73 doesnt have red tail lights in real life. they used a red blind or a tail lamp. i dont know if network rail changed their locos though.
Hi Tim , thats good to know about the red tail lights . i assumed they would have them as standard in the real world . thanks for the feedback
