    That damage to your old prop was wicked. Looked like you got a really good deal on the replacement. I keep a spare prop in my boat, hope I never need it!

      I've never seen one break like that..funny part is that it wasnt a rock or loch ness monster that broke it...it was a little piece of drift wood ...I was shocked..I've chipped and bent a few but never broke.. yea I almost spent $155 for a new one at my boat shop then my buddy found that one on Amazon. Figured worst case I could return it..thanks for watching!

    Interesting video man, by boat knowledge is slim to none, didn't think it would be that easy. Liked the how-to...I definitely won't have this problem for a long time but good to know haha. One day i'll own a boat!

      Thanks for watching eventhough it doesn't apply yet(you future boat owner!). I appreciate you and your support! figured I would show that you can do it at home easily. I know people get intimidated and spend $120-200 at a shop for something like this..I will probably make these as things break..haha..hopefully someone finds it and benefits! Thanks again brother!

    What happened to the inner spine. I didn’t see you put that on. 🤷🏼‍♂️🧐 oooh. You put a note that you had already slide it on. Also, I don’t know what size to get. There’s lots of different propellers. I do have a Merck 60 4stroke but mine is older. Thanks… Good job.

      The one I use is
      10.75" diameter with 12 pitch. prop number is QA2072X
      Seems to be a good all around propeller. Nice hole shot . Top speed is ok too.
      Happy boating !

    What size prop is that? Have you ever put a stainless prop on that motor to see the benefits? I have the same motor, so I'm curious

    • @hookjawhunters9419
      @hookjawhunters9419  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The prop is a black diamond 10.8x 12 pitch.
      I've never done stainless. I hear they are great on higher horsepower motors so I'm sure if you got some extra cash it might be great. If you get one let me know how it performs!

    I assume the plastic hub cannot be moved from the old prop (if your new prop didn't come with 1)??

    • @hookjawhunters9419
      @hookjawhunters9419  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for delay. I believe you can pop hubs in and out if they are still good . I have not done one myself so I will do a little more research. Thank you!

    This video is pretty old but hoping I can still get some feedback...if I don't have a torque wrench should I wait for one or just use my best judgement with a socket set? I don't want to have to buy a freakin expensive wrench just to change my prop if I don't have to..

    What kind of hydrofoil are you running? Thanks

    • @hookjawhunters9419
      @hookjawhunters9419  ปีที่แล้ว

      Using the Trol-A-Matic from bass pro shops . Think it's about $100. Great trolling plate and then automatically pops up when you accelerate.

    • @TheBoneruner
      @TheBoneruner ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@hookjawhunters9419 does it help with getting the boat on plane or handling or is it purely for trolling ? Thanks.

    • @hookjawhunters9419
      @hookjawhunters9419  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd say primarily trolling. To be honest I only ran the boat 1 time without it so I can't say if it planed out faster or not. I'm sure it doesn't hurt performance though.
      Ive had the SE SPORT hydrofoil on a smaller motor before and saw zero difference. I'm not convinced they are worth the $.

    We are creating a 'kayak' site for marine/boating parts and accessories to help people find the best deal vs. having to go to lots of individual stores to research - we may also provide links to content on youtube such as yours so people can also get advice.
    What do you think about this idea? Do you think it is a good idea for yourself/your audience? We would like to get some feedback before we get too far down the road.
    If you do like it, is it the kind of site that you would feel comfortable advising your audience to check out?
    Thanks!
    Cheers,
    Steven
