There was this one Daffy duck / Porky pig cartoon I once saw on Cartoon network/ Nickelodeon they wont show it anymore. Daffy pretends he's a doctor hits porky with a hammer and makes him his "patient". U have got to find this and watch it especially when he does a "conciliation" If u get the chance please show that part it shouldn't be copyrighted any more. + the "doctor" daffy was trying to help in the beginning was working with a patient covered in sheets. Lots of medical stuff in that one!

The "A's and B's" scene with Taz was based on a commercial on TV at the time. Keep in mind that particular cartoon was released in 1964.
It was an commercial where the A and B were Anicin vs. Bufferin asprin (I forget which product the commercial was for).
You definitely should check out the medical scenes in Looney Tunes with Sylvester and Tweety, even Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner

Hi Doc. Is this your first Looney Tunes reaction? I'd definitely like to see more. My favourite part in this video is when Bugs gave Tazz some Nitro before shaking him up.
The Looney Tunes Show (The one from 2011-2013) is extremely underrated in my opinion. It's good to see it included here.
I really enjoyed it and don't understand why it got the hate it did. They just fleshed the characters out into a continuous story. My favorite character was Speedy and his pizza parlor. ❤

The funny part about Bugs talking into the stethoscope is that a rabbit’s heart beats really fast because they are small animals. A mouse beats even faster, making a humming sound.

According to legend, Mel Blanc and bugs Bunny's relationship ran really deep. When Mel got into a car accident the doctor tried to revive them by saying "hello, bugs Bunny is anybody there"

7:15 Supposedly the carrots being good for vision goes back to World War 2 when the British, trying to keep the fact they had managed to develop radars they could use on their night fighters, explained the high intercept rate against German bombers by saying they fed their pilots carrots to improv their night vision.

The very slight difference between the voice for the original Bugs and the modern Bugs is just enough to really raise my hackles. Mel Blanc was truly iconic.
The new voice of Bugs sounds too much like Daffy.

I'm a little confused about the Nitroglycerin thing, do doctors use a different chemical with the same name? because the stuff that Bugs gave Taz was clearly the kind of nitroglycerin that is used in making explosive devices like dynamite.
It's the very same chemical. A lot of substances have numerous applications.
The nitrous oxide used to sedate you during a dentist visit is the same nitrous oxide that street racers inject into their engines to boost their speed.
Medical nitroglycerin is not pure. It's about 10% by volume, combined with much less volatile components into a powder, and kept in specific conditions to keep the nitroglycerin from degrading. Even then, medical nitroglycerin is considered unsafe if it's left to sit in those conditions for more than a few months, because said conditions only slow the degradation down.
it's one and the same tho the nitroglycerin used in medical situations are much more stable and usually in pill form
Didn't Wilde E Coyote used nitroglycerin to fill on fake carrots to ambush Bugs.
Fun history over-simplification (so you can have the fun of all the details later)...
Originally, when Nitroglycerin was discovered/invented, it went very quickly from a celebrated explosive fit for military or mining uses to horror, because it's so unstable. It's not quite as bad as Hollywood suggests (or Bugs here, for the matter) but it's definitely unpredictable and dangerous...
When Alfred Nobel (yes, the guy who created the famous prize for sciences) created dynamite, his original formulation "tamed" the nitroglycerin by infusing it into cellulose fibers, so in old technical books, dynamite as we call it is often called "Nitorcellulose"... AND it was suddenly stable enough that ordinary workers could be trained to handle the manufacture and shipping of it. It was still a bit dangerous but they could get by handily packing the stuff into crates full of hay or straw to reduce vibration...
THAT'S where the new trouble came up against nitro'... ALL the workers in dynamite factories started complaining of frequent HORRIBLE headaches. It was investigated, and eventually they figured out that the nitroglycerin was evaporating in fumes through those factories and causing the vasodilation that Doc' Wagner's talking about in the vid'... Enter some new air controls and safety masks and the business carried on until the military started using nitrocellulose for bombs and Nobel sold out of the dynamite business to create his famous "Peace Prize".
Well, scientists later discovered that for a variety of heart conditions, vasodilation could treat them, even in temporary "crisis events" and increase survivability... AND so THAT is why a very dangerous explosive is now being stabilized in starch and given to heart patients all over the world.
Nobel was a pacifist. He'd invented dynamite to save miners' lives... AND he sorely resented when governments determined to make weapons of war out of it. ;o)
Now I am going to have Elmer Fudd singing, "Killing the wabbit, killing the wabbit," stuck in my head for the next two days.

I'm 41 now so I've been watching this since I was a little kid. Taz is my favorite character and usually watch it if I see it come on lol.
Love the older cartoons myself, one that always gets me is where Elmer Fudd acts like he thinks he is a rabbit and Bug's gets lured into a trap, or competing against Daffy one million bucks/boxes, a scene where they wind up in a hospital, still able to continue the race despite being in bandages in which being a tie, sigh, such memories.

@@DoctorER Well, there’s the Bugs and Elmer episode where Bugs tells Elmer he has ‘wabbititis.’ There’s also a Bugs and Taz episode where bugs poses as a therapist. Then there’s all those classic scenes where Daffy gets shot but doesn’t die.
Really love Looney Tunes! This is reminding me of how I’m currently studying to be a voice actor like Mel Blanc (voice actor for Bugs and many other Looney Toons characters).

As a suggestion, how about a video about old Three Stooges shorts? They had several set in/around a hospital like Dizzy Doctors and From Nurse To Worse. One scene in particular (can't remember which short) really stuck with me, where they end up doing a surgery, dropping various random items into the patient to see what happens. It's funny but also kind of grotesque.

I recommend checking out the injuries and medical scenes from the underrated animated show Dan Vs. Specifically from the episodes about "The Dentist" and "Animal Shelter".

1:45 -- The As and Bs bit refers to a series of old antacid commercials which stressed the need to balance stomach Acid with a Base.
I have that "special" ability, that i can make animal sounds good. Once i tricked my grandma with making chicken sounds, and she tought the chickens got out from theyr little area.

He has to be in his 30's like me, and I grew up watching these cartoons, they aren't way before our time.
@@gkennedy0969 The original Merrie Melodies/Looney Tunes were made between 1930 and 1969. So yes, they were before most of our time. They've just had a very, very long life on TV.
"The Looney Tunes Show", on the other hand (which he showed two clips from) was only from 2011.
I actually had a millinial ER doctor who was watching cartoons on his phone when I was in critical yet stable condition. Who the hell is graduating these doctors! I was so upset I went into near shock and nearly passed out.

Bugs doesn't have PTSD or thyroid issues...he's just a sarcastic git. Earlier incarnations were jerks of the first order, messing with people just because he could. Newer versions just have a temper that is on...ahem...a hare-trigger

I'm 32 and I miss Looney Tunes. In my opinion. They just don't make cartoons as good as Looney Tunes anymore... Now it's just colors and noise. Same with Flintstones, Jetsons, original Scooby-Doo, etc. I remember waking up on Saturday with a massive bowl of cereal and watching all of them. Then went outside and played sports or rode bikes with my friend. Now that's heaven!
Well we have boomerang for looney tunes as well as Me TV here in Louisiana US. That air it on satellite.
As for the rest of the states I can’t say.
Oh almost forgot they air the jetsons on Sunday on Me TV and boomerang has Scooby Doo.

I don’t think I drink ENOUGH, caffeine. I mean, I drink water, sprite, hot cocoa. I hate coffee. I had it once and never drank it again.
Another one for the Eye Test Chart had Bugs being drafted into the Army (WWII Era Cartoon). Bugs was told to read as much of the chart as he could. Bugs reads the whole chart and then gets to, "Acme Eye Test Chart...." The doctor pulls out a magnifying glass, looks at the chart and says, "Uh, yeah."
That's my favorite version of the gag. It's even funnier than the one in "Hot Cross Bunny." Except, it wasn't actually a WWII era cartoon, but from 1953 called "Forward March Hare."
The Coffee and Snoring was from the New Looney Tunes show from the Twenty 10's (Teenies as I like to call it)
