  • Mount Lyndesay is 1,175 metres (3,855 ft) high and is on the south-west boundary on the border between Queensland and New South Wales,
    and is approximately 140 km south west of Brisbane.
    Mount Lindesay is one of a number of peaks in the McPherson Range, and is remarkable for its tiered summit,

    Absolutely awesome!! Looks something like Devils Tower National Monument in Wyoming, USA. Very cool!

    Is it a result of an old volcanic plug or just very hard rock at the top that did not weather?

      Thanks for viewing. It is a remnant of lava flow from a nearby volcanic plug, cheers
