Is Dagan's definition of "edge of breakup" amusing for anybody else? For this video I would say the edge was two exits ago, we're cruising through the suburbs now and the next stop is a saturated "downtown". The OCD is doing all of that in an express lane.
His idea of "edge of breakup" and mine are two different things. I'm a high gain player, don't get me wrong. But his was definitely a Tube Screamer away from killer 70s and 80s hard rock tones. Hell, the TS wouldn't actually be a requirement at all.
Yeah... That's NOT even close to the definition of "edge of breakup"! Which is a real shame because if he didn't crank his amp into so much saturation he could have done a real demo of the pedal and gotten good tones out of it...
Because this video is just a wall of over the top of mushy, fuzzy and trashy sounds... I'm sorry guys, but a little gain goes a long way... And he could've gotten great fuzz tones if he just didn't just go crazy with the gain...
@@christiangauthier727 True. Plus lots of hissing noise when the pedal is on. If this was the only available demo to go with I doubt many wold buy the pedal.

Love the OCD...just got the V 1.5..I always wanted to try one & finally took the plunge...1st day was all about the gain it has...killer tones..but this pedal shines as a clean boost too....its the core tone for my Carvin Legacy while my JVM is being looked at..I love my 83 sd1 but this pedal is a freakin monster...thanks man..love the show...!!!

That pedal has the best and smoothest overdrive I've tried I think, or one of them anyway. He's right, Mr Fulltome is about the copied Ibanez pedals. Most overdrives are. ♥️🤘

The first thing I want to hear when I listen to a distortion/overdrive/fuzz pedal is the distortion cranked all the way up.

I have a V2 I played 3and 4 and chose the v2 well just listen the also stack great with other drives.
It has been 3 years TRYING NOT TO BUY THE OCD....I have searched and searched for a better alternative....I have failed..Buying the OCD...Its a must have like the Keeley Red Dirt.

It’s ‘High Peak’ and ‘Low Peak’, not ‘High Pass’ and ‘Low Pass’.
Max Mossey it’s hard to find an OCD review with the reviewer understanding both this difference and that there was never a v3, v4 etc only a 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, all the way to 1.7 i think.
So what did mean on terms of function? It sounded lile a low pass to me...

Low pass will darken the tone and high pass will make it more cutting
It’s in the name - high pass refers to a high pass filter that lets all the high frequencies pass thru while blocking the lower freq and vice versa!

Had this pedal a while and only just got round to getting a 18v power but I get this horrible high pitch noise out of my amp when I turn it on?
This also happens with a Fuzz of mine until I turn on another overdrive after it. Ive tried everything cant figure out why. Guess ill resolder everything

Rather the Joyo clone tbh
just sold the Joyo clone (Ultimate Drive) yesterday. Its a great pedal, more gain on tap than an OCD but at .5/1 does a great low gain too. I feel OCD offers better low gain (cause the first half the pot is mostly tweakable low gain), UD did better full on distortion imo. Some people say its noisy, I didn't find that at all.

And acting like a buffoon (I know he's doing a loose, casual and "funny" format but come on!) and taking great gear and using it to get the trashiest, most ridiculously oversaturated tone to the point that it's just a huge mess while attempting to demo a pedal REALLY isn't professional, and pros don't call themselves experts: on the path to becoming a good musician, a professional, one is always forced to learn to be humble.
My old ds1 sounds better
