Batman: Dead End is a fan film made by Sandy Collora that premiered July 19, 2003 at the San Diego Comic Con, and on the internet shortly thereafter. The film was made for a reported $30,000.Collora filmed a similar project, 2004's World's Finest, with much of the same cast and crew. The Batman (Clark Bartram) is chasing down an escaped Joker (Andrew Koenig-R.I.P). In a surprise move, popular science fiction franchise characters Predators and Aliens enter the fray, seemingly killing the Joker and forcing a showdown. The Batman character had previously fought both races in a series of comic books from Dark Horse Comics, and the film draws some of its imagery from those comics. That backstory possibly explains why Batman wasn't surprised to encounter the two aliens.Film director and comic book writer Kevin Smith called it "possibly the truest, best Batman movie ever made" and comic book artist Alex Ross praised it as "Batman the way I've always wanted to see him". Collora has stated in interviews that the film was made as a demonstration reel to attract attention to his directing skills, and as such, succeeded in its goal. Fan Films Quarterly listed Batman: Dead End as one of the 10 most pivotal moments in fan film history in its Summer 2006 issue.

The shot at 1:16 of Batman raising up from the puddle is greater than any shot in any official movie......................EVER!
RIP Andrew Koenig.
The Mean Arena Very astute observation...
The Mean Arena Best characterization of Batman and Joker ever.
Besides the 89 movie
Then you don't know films with great cinematography then mate. There are loads of much better shots like that in official movies.
@@davidtorres5500 fuck u man the joker was shit. Heath Ledger and Joaquin Phoenix are the best Jokers ever! And don't tell me that this Batman is better than motherfucking Christian Bale!
Visuals and direction are amazing. I love bat's costume too, I don't understand people saying it's cheesy. It's exactly like Alex Ross's Batman.
Alex Ross himself has called this the best adaptation of Batman
Glad someone else noticed that.
Bogs Binny I agree. This armored costume worn in this video is very realistic and can actually be used in a real-life crime-fighting situation, just like Bale’s suit.
true true totally true , its a risky suite , its not an armor or something similar
Never liked the 2 tone suit. Not menacing enough.
My best friend died of a heart attack tonight .. this was the last thing he sent me to watch.. he was a huge Batman fan.. I wish everyone knew him.. he was the best guy on earth.. thank you for my last gift Chris.. you will be forever missed…
So sorry about your friend's passing. GOD rest his soul
Sorry for your loss dude
Rest in peace 🕊️
George, terribly sorry about your best friend. I lost 2 of mine, one loved superman. I wish i could say something, uplifting and hopeful, like "oh it gets better" But it doesnt, not with best friends, all you can do is just try and keep them alive in your heart. its been 10 yrs and i cried writing this, thinking about my buddies, but now im smiling and laughing cause i think theyd think it was funny how they made me cry soo much. Those Bastards lol
@@meteorheartofficial hugs… thank you
Is anyone here after the "director literally shit his pants" story? 😂😂
me
That’s batman
Same here
Me
Hell yeah
You must remember that this was BEFOR batman begins.
So, back then, it was the best batman we have ever seen on "movies"
1989 Batman was before this. So your statement is very wrong.
@@kurtwelborn7646 I am not saying that I am right or wrong. It is just my opinion.
I really like tim burton's movie (the first one), specially the visuals but that batman was Kinda silly.
He sleeps ONE NIGHT with vicky vale and enters in a dilema if he should tell her that he is batman?
This short is the first time I saw the batman I read in the comics in live action.
@@toninhopavan2 The whole idea of a guy dressed as a Bat going around on rooftops is silly... I think you're right its just opinions. Bale's voice is one of the silliest things in Nolan's trilogy
@@DirtyDayMix If I'm not mistaken, didn't the Nolan movies even kinda acknowledge how bad it was to the point of mentioning a voice changer/projector in the suit itself? Personally I like Ben Afleck's Batman far better than Bale's anyway. The pumped-up, brute power his version portrays just feels like a bigger badass. Kinda like how Batman came back after the Predator damn-near killed him.
@@TheAcydbuzz Nolan's Batman wasn't supposed to be about brute strength though, he was trained by ninjas in the mountains. Ben Affleck's version of Batman is more Frank Miller style.
When Sandy and the team released this, it was the best Batman movie ever shown in public. I remember the comic con crowd exploding in amazement. Even today it holds up, and you can thank this film for kicking the IP holders in the butt to make better film's.
1:15 This is the Batman I wanted to see live action. Classic Alex Ross style that made him scary yet so nostagic to watch. Modern day Batman is fun, but it was this Batman that made him intimidating. Maybe one day.
now we have it
@@filzakhan6954yes we do
Not only was this WAY ahead of its time, this could've been and still could be one of the coolest, greatest comic book films of all-time if done with the respect this was done with. I remember my friend and I losing our minds when this was on youtube over a decade ago. I still love watching it and getting that same feeling. RIP AK
1:16 this scene was so cool
Crazy that stallone and Hammil were set to play batman and joker originally
Please can you tell me about that?
@@adeesharodrigo Stallone was originally cast in this, look it up, there's still plenty of info about it
Thanks
@@lobsterclown5224the only thing I found says that is a myth - can you tell us anywhere specific to look ?
@@UncleOpeyTH-camThe director, Sandy Collora confirmed it.
Even though you don't see what happens next, is there really any doubt that Batman would find a way to walk out of that alley???
If you haven't watched it, you don't want to see the fan film "The Death of Batman". In it, Batman becomes addicted to drugs and gets butt raped...
Yep, caught that one! Bend over caped crusader!
He'd find a way--wait for it--BECAUSE HE'S BATMAN!
the predator would kick the shit out of batz cuz youknow.... They're PREDATORS MERICA!
***** George Clooney is best batman. not christian bale lawl
I was really enjoying this bit of fan made Batman Antics when SUDDENLY OH FETH ALIENS.
30/10
This 8 minutos are better than AVP movies, specially the second one 🤦♂️
What is AVP movies?
@@ash9898 alien vs predator movies. There's the first one (2004) and the second called Alien vs predator: requiem (2008)
@@davidsantos7921 oh thanks
The first one is a guilty pleasure. But the second, AVP Requiem, is definitely bad!
Cathal Carson yeah the fist one at least is entertaining, but the second is unwatchable
_"You made Me ... DADDY !"_
*Best JOKER line - EVER !*
This still holds up really well. I remember when this first came out I use to scout bootleg copies at Wondercon when it was originally in San Francisco. This and Grayson is what I bought and watched hundreds of times
I like the Batman costume, it reminds me of Alex Ross drawings.
It was basically a fan film but his goal wasn't to move the Batman story line forward. It was quite obviously all about visibility and recognition for Sandy - which is understandable. The man is obviously immensely talented. I think the quality of his props was absolutely stellar. His actors obviously gave it their all, but, sadly, there was no real story line - no plot line. It was just a way to showcase his abilities behind the scenes, and it's obvious that's where his talents lie - makeup - suits - costume design. His directing shows great promise and he did end up with a feature film and an action figure of Big Red and is now working on an Indie project called Shallow Water, but you're probably not going to see it at the movies. It's another special effects driven project with Sandy himself playing a part.
Yeah I really enjoyed this little short film, it actually had my heart pounding a bit when he was fighting the predator, which is exactly how a film should make you feel.
I mean it’s a small budget firm compared to a hollywood film budget.
0:35 BatNipples Return......
Gotta say I didn't see any of that coming!
I'll never get tired of coming back to watch this again. It's framed like a real live action comic book. Clark Bartram is perfect. I'm glad Stallone pulled out of the role.
Still the best fan film of all three Batman, Predator and Alien. Watching the behind the scenes reel made me love this film even more. Such an accurate representation of all three of these characters. RIP Andrew Koenig
Why am I only watching this now! Absolutely awesome. You even start pulling for batman once he gets into trouble with predator. This should of been green lit into a movie.
I'm just seeing this for the first time. Found it from a reply to a comment on a short
That moment when you realize this short low-budget film is better than the big budget full length, Batman V Superman...
I actually liked Batman v Superman; I felt the reviews were really unfair to it.
+Eric Naylor reviews were definitely unfair. Wasn't too bad but it wasn't the greatest.
snowontheweb Good not great. That was the gist of my own review. But even that's better than what a lot of film critics gave it.
It was okay but nothing compared to the dark knight and the dark knight rises
You are so full of bullshit!
I saw this, what, 12-13 years ago, and I still remember it. I only looked it up to lament about Jared Leto's joker and how it could have been. Sad that Andrew Koenig is dead.
1:15 That was an amazing visual
Andrew's take on the Joker was amazing, down to the laugh. R.I.P Andrew.
If Danny Glover can beat a predator...
Different worlds and writers bro
Superseven / Sandra West & More! Then the Bat will take down faster.
I'm laughing.. Still xD
Wasn’t the City Hunter supposed to be a younger Predator?
This is so bad ass on so many levels..
I'd love to see how the fight turned out..
First time I've seen this, and it looks amazing! I wish a full-length feature was made of this story.
Even in 2021 it still holds up as a solid short film💯💯
That final shot will forever be the absolute hardest superhero shot that I've ever seen.
dude bad ass short film now I am gonna watch the Documentary
Almost 10 years ago since i saw this. Still a masterpiece.
3 endings should have been made.
Batman Ending- Batman is seen kneeling down battered and bloody, covered in green blood and acid burns as he is surrounded by dead aliens and predators. He is breathing heavily while holding his weapon.
Predator Ending- A Predator is seen in the predator ship placing a new trophy on the trophy wall; a human skull with Batman's damaged mask.
Alien Ending- Batman wakes up battered and bloody, cocooned in an alien hive. He looks around to see a dead facehugger on the floor. As Batman begins to show signs of a sickness, the screen cuts to black. The sounds of a Chestburster breaking through his ribcage is heard.
And it looks like a xenobat lol.
wrong, they can't kill Batman, cause he is a "Notable" now, for killing the Yautja, the only way to end, it's Predators and Batman fighting together and wining, or At least one Xeno alive.
You made a great Joker Andrew.I am sure you and Heath are up in heaven sharing a few laughs.
This was very impressive.
I wouldn't have minded if this had been a feature lenght film with a bigger budget.
Why doesn't this have at least 300 million views!?!
I watch this video every couple of years and still everytime its awesome and epic af!! Some things never change~💯
This Joker look is . . . Damn. They actually make him look mutated here, he actually looks comic accurate in a straitjacket
I know man RIP to the actor who played him
This is still one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
Awesome! Really liked it a lot!!! The overhead shot of Bats on the ground with his Cape spread out gave me goosebumps! I would like to have seen more of Andrew Koenig's Joker in it, dude was damn near spot on! Didn't need, nor did I expect the Aliens/Predators, but it ended up looking dope either way!
1:16 was freaking incredible. What an amazing camera shot. Brilliant.
Rest in Peace Andrew Koenig
Can we get Clark Bartram hired. Really liked his Batman.
This is AMAZING!
especially for a Fan-made film!
Imagine if this was made with todays movie standards
This is Batman is all about. Fight till the Dead End and NOT GIVING UP
This is probably the best fan film I’ve ever seen, the cinematography is absolutely amazing
I'm just watching this NOW in 2014! But, DAMN, this was good!!!!
2020
2020 x2
2021
Very well made for its time, I wish we could have seen more of batman in this image.
I can’t believe a concept this wild got a fan film of this quality, even if it’s only 8 minutes long
Look at all the depth in Batman and Joker’s dialogue. It all gets ruined as soon as the Xenomorph shows up.
that puddle scene is the best batman thing i have ever fukin seen. You dont get more batman than that.
Pound for pound, this is Still the best lookin' live-action batman with some of the best produced scenes.
Remember seeing this years ago pre-YT on Ifilm. It was awesome then and it still holds up.
1:18 it's never in any of the Batman films except the original I think. But man is this my favorite batman trope.
That shot you did of Batman rising up after he had jumped down, you know, with his cape on the ground like it was, I think it started at about 1:15 of the film; well, anyway, that shot was one of the greatest shots of any movie I've ever seen. Not THE greatest, but ONE OF the greatest shots, ever. I mean that too... I'm a HUGE film buff, and also a huge Batman fan. In fact, I'm one of those weirdos who believes that 'Batman Forever' was a very underrated film. 'Batman and Robin' was an ABOMINATION through and through though, which is weird because Joel Schumacher directed them BOTH. Whatever the case may be, I'm sort of a writer myself (this includes music as well as film). That shot, BRILLIANT. Much love from Greenfield Massachusetts USA 🇺🇲 and God bless you in your filmmaking endeavors. ❤
I really wish this didn't take the Alien/Predator spin. Yeah, Batman's costume was a bit cheesy, but the over all look was good. He sounded like a good Batman too. Joker was actually awesome here. Seriously. I'm incredibly picky about my Jokers, and this one was working for me. Would have liked to seen more of him. The overhead shot of Batman rising off the ground was excellent! Straight out of the Animated Series. This could have really shaped up to be a fantastic fan made short movie... if it didn't have anything to do with aliens and predators. Don't get me wrong, it was entertaining, and I fully believe that Batman would walk out of that alley, but this could have been a amazing start to something much more wonderful.
The costume looks just like it does in the comics, so if that's your definition of cheesy... Either way, this was made not long after Dark Horse Comics had published 'Batman vs Predator' and 'Batman vs Alien' comic books; so there's your tie in and reasoning.
I think the costume is based of the Alex Ross design from the comics, which I love.
Neptune Centari Blame the DC/Dark Horse cross overs of Batman, Superman, Aliens and Predator... The comics were done in the 90's.

had me at "DADDY!"
Excellent “what if” short film. Kept me wanting to see what’s next for the entire 8 minutes.
Did not see that coming
3:00 Well, I really didn't see that coming..
Neither did The Joker...
Wow,,,just WOW,,somebody teach Zak Snyder and Chris Nolan this movie,,one more time,, WOW,so freaking AMAZING
This is wonderful. I also love the costume designs for everyone. The Batsuit is amazing. Godzilla Mendoza is right, it probably is the best batsuit ever seen in film. I wonder how it would look with a grey/blue color scheme like the old Neil Adams comics? Probably good.
The suit and the cowl is great, especially the cowl! Great job on everything, Alien, Predators
One of the rare cases where its better to not read the description first. Loved the surprise. Was a total WTF in the best of ways.
I've shown this to a couple of people who had no idea going in and the moment the Alien grabs Joker is still the best
This is BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Was not expecting this! I would love to have seen more of this crossover.
This is what's going through a kids head when he's playing with his favorite action figures.
This seemed like a really well done classic Batman story…and then all of a sudden a Xenomorph shows up.
This was awesome! BRAVO! I would definitely pay to see this!
one of my fav short firms. this film is so awesome
Never even heard of this before. Made in 2003??? This is freaking awesome.
He died in an alley just like his parents 😮
That will be a Long Day
Ok am I high or did i just watched Alien VS Predator VS Batman?
Even for a short film, this was really good, the costumes were great, and it was dark, very good job on the Xenomorph aliens, and the Predator.
That was really cool! I was drawn in.
13 years later and it's still great to watch!
Loved this Joker
The greatest fanmade film of all time.
How did I miss out on seeing this!? Holy crap, it was pretty good!
I thought it was actually pretty good until alien came.
Lopresti Cam Sandro AN alien is in this? exactly what i wanted!
RolePlayingVideoGame No, no. *The* alien. As in Alien and Predator.... Most notably Predator..... Koenig's acting aside, I wasn't particularly impressed with this one.
Batman standing up from the puddle at 1:16 was epic though.
same
Eww didn't notice that.
Who did he cum on?
same
I remember this being so well received that it kick started people talking about a live action Batman again, then we got Batman Begins- the rest is history! We have this short to thank
Holy shit, i didn’t expect this to be so simple yet so compelling.
The shot of Batman rising with his cape spread out made me want MORE!!
Then a classic battle of morals.
Then AVP!!
This shit rocked
Haven't seen this in years. Download it back in 2004 and was super impressed by the storyline and the effects. Still good after all these years. Wish more movies were this well scripted.
masterpiece
Anyone else here after hearing about the director making a mess of their pants?
This is still my favorite fan film of all time
Still one of the best Batman fan films ever made.
It's 2020 and this video is still amazing
That batsuit is amazing.
that situation looked so bad for batman,I honestly don't see how he could've survived the ending.
Just use the batline...
Not so bad ... Predators are honorable ... and not kill Batman, they are hunting the Xenomorfos ...
+Cebolinha Duelista they kill anyone who can put up a fight but if batman killed the predator they wouldn't because he'd be worthy
No, they have an honor code. If you manage to kill a Predator, the clan leader will reward you with a prize because you earned respect among them (Predator 2, Aliens vs Predator, and other comics), so it is likely that these Predators of the film will fight alongside Batman. And it isn't true that they have no regard of humen life, in the honor code it is said that a Predator cannot kill children, terminal-sick people, pregnant women or self-defenseless people.
You mentioned Predator 2... Didn't a pregnant woman get killed by the Predator in that movie? In the subway scene I think?
There is an entire documentary on the guy who made this on hulu not trying to plug, but it's really good! This was an awesome idea!
I’ve watched this a number of times. I continued to be amazed by the raw talent that went into the choreography, the lighting, the sound, the special effects, the costumes and make up. My only question? Why aren’t these guys at the helm driving the “”big films”?
There like of acting ability with the exception of Andrew
This never gets old looking at it. Love to see more.
Great Job Really...................Loved It
to all of you Watchers that say this has no sense please read the description and then you can comment
you ever noticed that from that rooftop Batman is always perched up on /w the stone gargoyle, he literally has a full unobstructed geocentric birds eye view of Gotham City, that just happens to be the one location in Gotham in exactly one spool of grappling line range of any other locale in the city? He could make a fortune in Ubereats deliveries, and Be greeted with open arms and big smiles for a change, actually be rewarded with genuine gratuity the kind often backed up with with customary cash bribes, as if to be a down payment on future services rendered. Instead of the daily grind of violence, mask, and cape and everyday all the ungrateful vigilante hate
