Hi Alexis, First off I would like to say I love watching your videos as I have found them super encouraging and helpful! I am a postbac student and will be applying to medical school next cycle! While I do not know exactly what you are going through, I want you to know that you are not alone. Through my time as a postbac student, I started experiencing anxiety attacks and depressive thoughts. It got to the point where I couldn't focus on anything, with thoughts constantly racing through my mind and a feeling of just overall fear. I also went to see a therapist and a psychiatrist. It has gotten better for me as well since I have been trying to prioritize my mental health. I just keep telling myself that dealing with this now instead of during medical school will give me the tools necessary to combat in medical school if similar issues like this arise. Thank you for sharing your emotions and experiences. I admire your strength as a pre-medical student (who got accepted into med school!!) and who is strong enough to share your story. Sending prayers and love your way!
Wow. Thank you so much for writing this. I wanted to make sure I had time to respond to this thoughtfully because it is absolutely beautiful and insane to relate to anyone in such a specific and sorta intimate way. I think that is a great mindset to have as well, the belief that this experience is prepping us for an even bigger feat. We are learning to adapt and care for ourselves before the stress becomes debilitating in medical school. I think it will not only ease our sufferings in med school but also make us more empathetic and intuitive towards our patients as physicians and on an overall humane level as well. I like to think everything happens for a reason and now that I feel like I am finally starting to come out the other side I know I am so much more strong than how I used to see myself. Thank you so much for all your lovely words! I wish you nothing but success in your medical journey and if you ever would like to vent or would like advice I am completely open :) I hope the same vice versa aha? I am sorry that you are experiencing the same feelings but I am sooooo glad to know you get me, truly. Thank you for taking the time to write this. It gives me more motivation more than you may know !
@@alexisdestiny9147 Hi Alexis! I love that you said that what we are going through will help us be more empathetic to our patients. I've definitely been an overall nicer person in general because I realized that we never know what people are going through! And of course, I am always open ears for venting and advice :) I forgot to mention that earlier last year I got bloodwork done and my doctor told me I was vitamin D deficient. I was kinda bad at taking vitamin D supplements since she told me, but when I started getting anxious I started taking them regularly and they have helped me feel better! This might be the case for you too! May we both continue to feel better so that we can become amazing doctors for our patients!!
See, now I regret never having my one on one with you! I knew there had to be more layers to you and I'm glad to see it! love you lex! see you this fall!!
Pfff everyone gets there follow up call but me!!! xD I am HIGHLY embarrassed but I put my business out there for a reason so I guess that's that aha. Love you too! See you soon :)
I just came across your channel and have been binging your videos. I'm applying this upcoming cycle and I want you to know that your advice on your channel has been helpful. Hope everything is going better.
