Its great to see you two staying active and enjoying your retired life. We plan to follow your route to walk down from the Upper town to Ragusa Ibla. Thank you for the tips about taking the bus to go back to the Upper town!
Hi I'm sicilian. Although I'm from Catania, I grew up in Ragusa. That stunning treasures of buildings churches, history eccetera, are just a huge heritage of our former kingdom named "Regno delle due Sicilie". After unification to the rest of Italy, began a decadence time (no sicilian seeked for join to Italy) I remind in '70 years (when I was child) Ragusa Ibla were like a ghost town. People moved up to Ragusa superiore and only little old persons kept to live there. Nowtime, fortunaly, the unbelievable beauty of Ragusa was discovered and that old town offers itself to visitors of entire world. I'm so grateful to you for have showed that, you made me emotional. Thank you very much. Silvio
Wonderful video! I would very much like to walk down to Ragusa Ibla on the same route as you. Could you be so kind and tell me some street names or landmarks? Maybe I can recreate it. There is so much beauty there that it would break my heart not to find it.
Grazie da Texas. Mi piace molto questo video. Thank you so much. The video is magnificent and so is the city. I lived walking with you guys. We will see Ragusa soon. Un abbraccio

It is quite a walk up hill but once you arrive at the square, it is beautiful. So much history here. You will enjoy your visit.
To be in awe in front of cheese knife… Have you never seen anything ?
No I have not seen a knife like that, In US the cheese comes in small packages in the supermarket.

That sounds like a good plan Evy.
I was a teacher here for a season
. Its great for a weekend but its very deserted and boring for long term . I did get fit though ! I prefer siracusa
A nice day trip for sure. We spent just one night there and explored for one day. Amazing place.
@@bztravel its soo picturesque! it's really the core of true Italian life
It's beautiful, but it's so Isolated, were are the people?
Is there a bus to go from the bottom, old part of town to the upper part of town?
Evy, we passed by the bottom on the bus but we are not sure where the stops are.
why is it so quiet? do people or any young people live there?
We visited during the off season. As we were about to leave though, the city was filling up for the Christmas tourist season.
Great video! Can I visit Ragusa in one day or I need to stay over night?
From Catania you are looking at a longer travel time. Check bus services.
No train services to Ragusa?
@@evyf857 No there is the railway line leading to Ragusa
Does the end of your video is the old or new part of town?
We ended up in the new town and this is where we stayed. We walked to the old town and took the bus back.
Bellissimo Ragusa.!
