We were simply laughing and being awkward as heck
I find that a serious Muslim who is born in a Muslim family and a revert are good match because they are both serious about the deen. Whereas, many Muslims who are born into a Muslim family, take their deen for granted.
I think it's very individual. Taking the deen for granted can definitely happen to reverts too. May Allah swt continue to guide us 🤲
I love how they go from funny and silly in one scene to serious and thoughtful in the next. Great advice btw!

My oma was a revert, and while i’m pretty sure her marriage to my opa was not perfect, they made it work and they had imo the most successful marriage that i have ever seen. May Allah bestow his Rahma on their souls, Ameen.

I thought the quote was lame. That wasn't my definition of love. I thought it was more than that. But as I go through my married life it is indeed the most important element in a marriage. Kindness. It embraces every aspect of marriage. Without kindness you can come across as callous in actions, thoughts and words. A lot of other things matter, but kindness tops it all. Just my little opinion and thoughts. Try it. Practice it. May Allah showers his barakah in your lives and grant you both (& the little one) Jannahtul Firdaus. Amin. 11:38
That's a very insightful and deep thought. As you put it, kindness is a great way to encapsulate the marriage experience. It's difficult to go wrong when you begin and end everything with kindness. Thank you guys for this video! So many Muslim men have the colonized mindset and idealize marrying reverts (specifically white women) because of their complexion. I understand we may have a “type” but Allah may not have written you for the type you think you like now. Also, this mindset can be sooo damaging if it’s purely because we are taught “lighter is better, darker is uglier/dirtier” astaghfirallah!!! Personally I believe revert marriages can be some of the hardest and more demanding than non revert marriages because a) any marriage will show both spouses a clear mirror of their faults as a courtesy from each other’s partner which it should as that helps challenge us to be better versions of ourselves but b) it can be even more challenging as the layer of unveiling hypocrisy or shirk or etc in a persons daily life can be so hard hitting like you both said, and not to say Muslim born men or women shouldn’t try, but please come prepared to being open to hearing these kind constructive criticisms but even better take is as an opportunity to be the best version of yourself for the sake of Allah swt while building a household where your children will have a more clear idea of Islam. JazakAllahu khairan- I think this gets so hard when men only want a revert for beauty or the ability to “mold” the revert into who *they* want them to be, teaching them *his*lam rather than *is*lam . It’s happened to me with a potential before and to many of my revert friends unfortunately and it is soooo easy tog eat taken advantage of in this very vulnerable time of learning. So reverts esp sisters pls be careful.
Yes..100%. I unfortunately know and have spoken to way too many revert sisters who have been in abusive marriages because of this. It makes me so angry and so sad for them because that man was perhaps their first introduction to Islam, and after such an experience it must truly take a lot to stick to your faith as well as healing from trauma. May Allah swt protect and continue to guide these sisters especially 🩷😭🤲

I feel like a lot of reverts gets taken advantaged of by born muslim but raised by culture not Islam.
As an Indo-American muslim, ive seen other around me who married a revert are all students of knowledge and the reverts are seekers of knowledge.. perfect match
