You know, weirdly, reading Uluu, given as he "gains 2 random effects" every turn, but it doesn't say, like "only for that turn" or "until the end of turn" or whatever, if this was a physical card game I'd expect he'd just keep adding more and more options for you to pick from until he was played. Granted, cards not functioning exactly as written isn't unheard of, and I don't know if Hearthstone can resolve a card with like, "Choose one of these 10 options" or something presently.
Oh shit i thought Uluu was giga broken for a second until i read it properly, thought it would just give you a choose one every round for free just for having it in you hand
Something that I think should be noted is that all this arcane stuff has no real overlap with the owlonius combo. The only arcane spells that can face damage is phial and sea breeze chalice. And for every card of this package you chose to use that’s one you don’t have to enable to combo itself. A couple cards from this group might get used but I think the combo deck as a whole doesn’t get a whole lot, and if anything the arcane cards from Whizbang and the mage cards they can use from PiP work to round out the more value oriented bend to this package.
The crazy thing is that even though all these cards mostly seem pretty great in a vacuum, I actually don't know if it's broken enough for druid to even care. Why would they want to spend time building up a neat spaceship when they're already just stealing your mana and dumping 30+ mana worth of stuff on like turn 6. Or even if just in the realm of strictly an arcane type deck, do they even want to run all this? Just run the Owlonius stuff, add Starlight Reactor and the card draw spell and call it a day
It’s probably pretty bad, but all I can think of when looking at Star Grazer is Witching Hour in Wild. 3 mana resurrect your Star Grazer and have way more mana left over for triggering the spellburst seems kinda sweet, albeit *way* too slow for any serious play.
how does uluu work? do you get the two random choices in your hand? do they stick to the minion, and if so, does it target random minions to deal damage to and random characters to heal? do you target a target who gets all the effects? do you know what it has?
I believe that the card Is either a new yogg/shudderwock or super Op. Every turn It gains a random chose one, both choices. When you play It, It Stands to Logic with previous cards that It either let's you chose and select target for every effect (like adapt 5 from the paladin Quest Dino from ungoro) or the choices are random and the targets are random. Looking at the chose One cards, if random chosing and target, It looks like a reload generally. If It let's you decide choise and target, It probably becomes a very strong reload. It might be Just bad thought, to be decent you would Need to have It for many rounds. It might Just give you a few cards and a few Minions, or turn into dust.
@@n00dle_owi believe this is most likely how it works. a sidenote since regis seems to think the "random" part means both the effects will always be from the same card randomly picked, my guess would be that the effects are picked independently
I think Uluu is a card intended to wait until the rotation to use. The card with 2 negative outcomes rotates with Titans and the core set also Stilchanges. Because the card pool is smaller, the results will be more consistent. Still not sure if it makes the cut at that point.
Has anyone done a summary of all the Star Trek nods in card titles yet? Off the top of my head "Final Frontier" here, "Captains log" a few days ago etc.
I think a puppet master star grazer deck could be pretty sweet, although I don’t think it would be viable, but at least you can reliably draw a beast for 1 mana in Druid atm
Even if uluu does gain more, it's still a choose one so you only get 1 option right? Could be good with the "get both effects" but I don't think there's a "get all effects" kind of card
Final frontier is a solid card if enough old ten drops are good. Any turn where you have at least 8 mana to get a discounted discover 10 drop seems good unless they are all undersized or bad for your game plan. You get the battlecry even!
When I first read Ulu, I thought he would get 2 choose one choice on turn 1, 4 choose 1 choice on turn 2 (you choose two of them) and so on. This seem much less cool
Really wish we get less ramp for druid with the rotation. Its just completely imbalanced for one class to get to ramp when they also have such a decent early game. Theres no downsides to just having way more stuff to do than your opponent
I might have to come back to hearthstone after being gone for like a year. Druid and mage are my favorite classes. Druid got stacked cards and mage FINALLY got a non RNG based package
Final Frontier is probably awful most of the time, but if you can discover it I think it might be great. Playing Kun the Forgotten King off of Final Frontier is going to be nuts if you can make it work, if you have 11 mana you can Eonar, Kun for the Refresh, fill your hand with Eonar and then play any other big card you want.
If u can somehow double the effect of Final Frontier u might get an alternative win condition from wild that would also cost you only 1 mana, leading to insane turns, ofc u have to spend a lot of resources on doubling its effect AND also spending 7 mana, but that card might see play, or at least i hope it does, seems like so much fun 😭😭 Just imagine getting a Colossus of the moon or a Neptulion or a fucking Denathrius for 1 mana
It's okay because most games you're gonna play it at turn 3 or 4, and when you get something like Rhythm and Roots or Drum Circle on it, that's a lot of tempo tbh
Agreed. Most of the time it is not going to be impactful enough to be worth running. It should read at the start of your turn game to choose one abilities. Battlecry. Cast them both.
Star Gazer with an ignis windfury might be good enough to have a secondary win condition, but other than that, its just awfull, druid has waaay too much value rn to be even considering to add something like that, there are cards that do the same thing for less mana, like the 0 cost spell that spends all ur mana and gives u that same atack, thats a waaayy much better of a win condition to have, and lets be honest, 8 armor with the current meta game its the same as nothing, and considering u also have to spend not only 8 mana but a spell afterwards.. yeah, it sucks.. hearthstone devs are just making up random shitty cards for druid this expansion, they might be trying to nerf it 😭😭
@@RegisHearthbin I think they're under the assumption that the effects stack. I.e., if you hold Uluu for five turns, upon playing them, you get to "choose one" five times.
The biggest problem with that 5 mana legendary its that is waaay too sitatuinal, not only u have to wait for it to have a good choose one effect, but also to be able to play it that same turn, its 5 mana, and druid honestly doesnt struggle much with mana lol, but i mean, in what type of scenario can u actually afford to spend most of ur turn on a random choose one effect that might not even be that good to begin with, it just makes no sense to me when they make this awfull type of cards, they could be adding so many cooler things to improve the current and future meta game of hearthstone and instead they come up with this lame ideas, i fr think the hearthstone devs dont even care anymore, they just print random shit and hope they somehow work (?
I feel like Uluu needs "and has both effects combined" to be good

I figured youd choose One for each 2 effects it gained, so you could have drum circle, cenarius and forbidden fruit and you would pick one from each

Isn't "gain" two choices means they are gonna stay? So if it is in your hand for 5 turns, it has 10 choices effect, kinda like yogg
Thought so too at first, but it just cycles through effects each turn (based on gameplay vid of it)
It’s probably pretty bad, but all I can think of when looking at Star Grazer is Witching Hour in Wild. 3 mana resurrect your Star Grazer and have way more mana left over for triggering the spellburst seems kinda sweet, albeit *way* too slow for any serious play.
I am in LOVE with these legendary card arts. Especially these giant space minions like ulu and staro and them.

I believe it works the way that it keeps the choices you selected and when you play it it triggers all of these selected effects in sequence

it randomly picks two. then the next turn it gets rid of those and randomly picks two again. it only ever has two random choices at a time.

i thin uluu is gonna be sick cause because it DOESNT say "this turn" so maybe it gains infinite value
It would be sick. But I am fairly sure its just gonna be between the current turns choices. Would be way to broken otherwise.
yeah, 5 mana to activate 8 choose one effects if its in your starting hand and have a 5/6 seems pretty sweet to me.
That would be insanely broken and has been confirmed to not be the case in the showcase video
