Something to note, the Holiday Main Street set retires by the end of the year (2024). I got it recently to use the buildings year round for display, but after starting to build it the Christmas Cheer has got to me and I might just keep it as is.
I’m already planning on ordering a second one because I can use the two trolly’s. But I also like the idea of a small snowy village with trollys as a means of transportation. It’s a very nice set too. Converting the extra buildings into something else isn’t that hard either.
Great video! I didn't know I was so out of the loop for the holiday sets! My sister got the first one but I guess we lost interest probably after a year or two of the more hiliday fantasy themes as you put it. The 2022 set is definitely a stand out entry!
Yes, holiday Main Street is my number one set too! Awesome video 😊 I’m getting the Alpine Lodge set this year, as I’m not a big fan of this year’s post office set. I think your ranking of that was perfect.
Hmmm... you appear to be missing what many consider to be the ACTUAL first set: 10173 Holiday Train from 2006. Many folks missed out on it, due to thinking it was just a stand alone train set, so they didn't pick it up, even when it went on sale for 50-off.
bro, how dare you rank the gingerbread house so low! It's almost like we are different people with different preferences!! 😝you actually ranked my three favorites (not including the remake) at the bottom. The fantasy stuff is my jam for sure.
Wait, wait, you’re telling me that people can have different preferences? 🤯 😜 In all seriousness, though, I’d say these are all 8/10 or higher, so though my preference is for the real world stuff, the fantasy sets are still top tier LEGO sets. Great stuff all around!
Hi Kelton, I really enjoy you’re style of Lego content especially the retro Lego once. Just one thing could you please show the inside of all the buildings, I was wondering how the fire departments interior would look like. Apart from that 10/10 video!!!
Thank you! That’s great input. I was running through these sets a tad faster than a typical Retro LEGO video, so I definitely glossed over some details.
I actually bought the gingerbread house because it could be a standalone set. I didn't have any of the previous sets (despite the toy shop and bakery being some of my favorite sets) so this way I could get my feet wet in the winter village scene.
@@keltondavisLEGO If you can get it for a good deal I definitely recommend it. The building process was unique and the amount of glitter bricks for the windows really help it stick out in person, especially when lit up.
I have no interest in this theme, but I enjoy your videos so much I had to watch it. The shot of the big group of minifigs all spinning in a circle at the same time, amazing.
My rankings are very different from yours, but I also like the whimsical fantasy sets, and I don't display mine together as a village. Here are my rankings of the sets I own and have built (2014-2023) from most favorite to least (although I like them all): Santa's workshop Toy shop 2015 (I never had the 2009 version, so I was happy to get this) Christmas train (My first LEGO train) Elf clubhouse Santa's Visit Gingerbread house Holiday Main Street Alpine chalet Fire station Train station
What about the older holiday train? I know it is not an official winter village set but i think it would be a great honourable mention. Even as the upgraded santa's sled and the elven postcar.
@keltondavisLEGO Reached 10k once before was not picked as a winner. Now almost one year into 2nd attempt with a new improved design and on 3769 supporters so far!
If youre going yo rank these you need to actually put them side by side and see how well the form a winter village because the whole idea of a winter village collection is putting together a winter village that grows each year. The two you basically eliminated look great with the rest even though they aren't something you might see in most non lego winter village collections. They blend in pretty well. Some of the sets you ranked highly look great on their own but stand out in a bad way next to the rest. You even ranked some sets higher because they more closely resemble other collectibles even though they're not very well done or look unfinished.
I simply ranked them according to my personal preference. Of course it's going to be at odds with others' tastes. Just going with my gut and how I like a village to look and feel.
Good point. It comes down to personal preferences. I agree with the video. A Gingerbread House will never fit into my city because it is not modeling anything in real life.
Another banger. I really liked the little snowman-building stop motion in the intro. Always killing it with the little details
Thanks so much!
A bikesmith in Copenhagen has a few of these and puts them in his display window with a lego train every christmas
That sounds delightful!
I’d love to see that! Definitely adding it to my travel list if I can.
Something to note, the Holiday Main Street set retires by the end of the year (2024). I got it recently to use the buildings year round for display, but after starting to build it the Christmas Cheer has got to me and I might just keep it as is.
It’s fantastic! And after Christmas, it can easily be converted to something less festive.
I’m already planning on ordering a second one because I can use the two trolly’s. But I also like the idea of a small snowy village with trollys as a means of transportation. It’s a very nice set too. Converting the extra buildings into something else isn’t that hard either.
You’v made me feel all Christmasy in October with this video.
When there's a chill on the air, I can't help it!
Great video! I didn't know I was so out of the loop for the holiday sets! My sister got the first one but I guess we lost interest probably after a year or two of the more hiliday fantasy themes as you put it. The 2022 set is definitely a stand out entry!
It's a big ol' series with a lot of passionate opinions out there. But honestly, if I could collect them all, I totally would!
Yes, holiday Main Street is my number one set too! Awesome video 😊 I’m getting the Alpine Lodge set this year, as I’m not a big fan of this year’s post office set. I think your ranking of that was perfect.
Thanks!! Lots of strong opinions on this saying the opposite 😂
Mr. Davis where do you find the time to make high quality animated videos so close together?
also seriously underrated channel, deserves more.
Luckily I do videography and editing as my career, so I’ve learned how to do it quickly. Thank you for your kind words!!
The off-the-scale level of pure wholesomeness in this video would make a CareBear explode...
DELIGHTFUL ❤️❤️❤️
Haha! Nuthin’ more wholesome than a bunch of deliciously charming winter sets! Thank you 🙏
Man, even Kelton is getting to Christmas early.
LEGO did it to me by releasing Winter Village in October 😂
Hmmm... you appear to be missing what many consider to be the ACTUAL first set: 10173 Holiday Train from 2006. Many folks missed out on it, due to thinking it was just a stand alone train set, so they didn't pick it up, even when it went on sale for 50-off.
I considered adding that, but I kind of consider it as its own thing, since the consecutive yearly releases started up a few years later.

@@keltondavisLEGO It's probably cause I'm a huge Tolkien fan. His "Father Christmas Letters" are the most "Christmasey" thing for me.
@@BrotherhoodWorkshop Can't argue with that! Love your work, BTW.
I remember having the 2009 Lego Holiday Catalogue with the 10199 Toy Shop on the cover as a kid. I always loved how post-cardy it looked on the cover
And to this day, it’s still one of my faves!

I remember getting the first set in 2009 as a kid, love these sets and great video as always!
Lucky! It's a tough one to get for a decent price these days. Thank you!!
I actually bought the gingerbread house because it could be a standalone set. I didn't have any of the previous sets (despite the toy shop and bakery being some of my favorite sets) so this way I could get my feet wet in the winter village scene.
It’s a great one! It’s one I’m considering picking up as an annual building tradition. Much better than actual gingerbread 😆
@@keltondavisLEGO If you can get it for a good deal I definitely recommend it. The building process was unique and the amount of glitter bricks for the windows really help it stick out in person, especially when lit up.
This list is not good for my budget! Another great video!
Hey there, Alaura! Thanks for watching!
Great video! As a fan of the more realistic sets - I agree with this list 100%. This is the #1 Winter Village Ranking I have ever seen!
Thanks so much! I'm sure the opinions will vary widely and I'm excited to see everyone's take.
great pacing in this video!
Moved perfectly between each set

when halloween sets?
Thank you so much!
This weekend will be my Halloween special!
The one you placed at number 1 is the only one I have. I love this set and feel so proud to own it haha
Like I said, if you're gonna have only one, that's the one to have!
The Gingerbread House is easily in my top 5. Similar to your picks, it is very subjective. I have great memories of building it with my kids.
Love it! It's actually a set I'm planning to get, but for a standalone display. Great set!
I have no interest in this theme, but I enjoy your videos so much I had to watch it. The shot of the big group of minifigs all spinning in a circle at the same time, amazing.
Thank you! That was an excruciating shot to film, but I was so proud of how it came out.
finally someone who agrees with me about the gingerbread house
Opinions certainly vary widely on this series!

Santa's workshop

Christmas train (My first LEGO train)
Elf clubhouse
Santa's Visit
Gingerbread house
Holiday Main Street
Alpine chalet
Fire station
Train station
Haha! So we basically have reverse lists. Love the variety in the community!
What about the older holiday train? I know it is not an official winter village set but i think it would be a great honourable mention. Even as the upgraded santa's sled and the elven postcar.
I thought about that, but then didn’t know what else should qualify as well, so I just stuck with the consecutive yearly releases.
Ever thought of reviewing/ranking the original Lego Racers game that came out of the 90s??
It's not one I ever played as a kid! But I'd love to find it, play it and review it!
LEGO Island was my jam, though.
Merry legomas
And a Happy New Year! (Of buying more LEGO) 😂
My favorite is the Alpine Lodge
The top 3 are so close that any of them could have taken the crown. The Alpine Lodge is simply fantastic.
Yes. Truly a great set! I looks perfect standing next to the Winter Village Cottage.
I hope one day my elf the movie north pole LEGO ideas set can join all the christmas winter village sets!
You’d think the support would be GINORMOUS!
@keltondavisLEGO Reached 10k once before was not picked as a winner. Now almost one year into 2nd attempt with a new improved design and on 3769 supporters so far!
i would do anything for a holiday train set
They certainly ain’t cheap on the aftermarket!

Gingerbread near the bottom of the list… TC won’t be happy 😆
Poor Tiago 😂 I actually LOVE his set as a standalone. Just doesn’t work with my preferred village type.
