My LEGO City Subway Gets a HUGE Upgrade!

After reading many comments with tons of helpful suggestions, I've made a handful of changes and upgrades that have really brought this subway to the next level! These upgrades include elevators, automation, and fully realized subway platforms. I also give a tutorial on how to use a color sensor for your own LEGO trains. Love...

Retro LEGO | All Blacktron II Sets Ranked!
มุมมอง 22Kหลายเดือนก่อน
In this episode of Retro LEGO, it's time to visit the "bad guys" of LEGO Space, Blacktron! The original Blacktron was released in 1987, but the faction we're covering in this video, Blacktron: Future Generations, was a follow-up that was released in 1991. Wreaking havoc on all the other factions of LEGO Space was these guys' specialty, and they had some GREAT sets, to boot. Special thanks to Al...
Retro LEGO | All M:Tron Sets Ranked!
มุมมอง 14K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
Released in 1990 (the year I was born!) M:Tron was an innovative and well-beloved sub theme of LEGO Space that is still fondly remembered to this day. Its pioneering and prolific use of magnets as a play feature was a particular standout. Sit back and enjoy a trip back to this excellent series of sets. Special thanks to Alex Nunes for lending me his collection to feature in this video! Love thi...

Retro LEGO | All Time Cruisers Sets Ranked!
I'm kinda feeling my whole life was a lie now that I know you're not really made out of Lego...
It’s ok… I had to accept it, too. It gets easier….
Interestingly enough, Pharaoh's Forbidden Ruins was the first set that came to my mind as well, regarding the question of a "perfect" set!
I mean, it’s so good it almost hurts my feelings.
Big congrats on 10k!
Thank you!
"Dewey Cheatum" Hilarious 😂
Perfect!
If you have space in your city, could you add the twin towers?
If we’re talking the Patronus towers, and not the…other ones. Morbid.
I think that’s the first time I have featured in someone else’s video - thanks! Really like your Lego room btw - hope that maybe one day I can sort out the spare room in our house to be more Lego orientated.
Thanks for the question! And I hope that Lego room dream comes true 😊
Everything about your videos feels both top-tier and easy at the same time, which is a feat for sure. Thanks for answering my question, and keep it up! This channel is like comfort food for my soul
So glad to hear! More coming!!
Loved this Q&A special, Kelton! People asked a lot of interesting questions! Thanks for answering mine as well! It's always fun to meet a fellow Rock Raiders or Adventurers fan out in the wild!
We’re out there! 🤚
Dude, that voice! Do you have a music channel as well? You should.
I don’t, but it ain’t a bad idea!
@@keltondavisLEGO do it! I’m gonna need your take on Agony from Into the Woods.
Congrats on 10k! I hope to join you there soon
Looks like it won’t be long now!!
10:10 I know the feeling. Just built sets from the late 70’s and early 80’s from my father’s collection. The instructions were extremely vague.
It’s like a puzzle every step 😂 Charming, certainly, but I do think the modern ones are an improvement.
@ it makes you have to pay attention to the instructions more though… guess it makes you more immersed in the process
Oh man so many people I recognize from my own comment section
LEGO TH-cam is a big, yet small world 😆
Dude your channel is so well produced can't wait to see more retro lego!
More coming next week!
"I am indeed a person, with a face"... Naaaah, this is an AI deep fake, I am onto you, LEGO man!
And I would have gotten away with it if it weren’t for you meddling kids!!!
Thanks for answering 1 out of 2 of my questions. Lol I can't help but think though, I see your city behind you & thought: too bad you don't have any Power Miners sets, because, under the city, in 1 section, you could make a underground section for the miners to mine crystals or gold, would be cool to see. 🤔
I actually thought of doing that with Rock Raiders!
@keltondavisLEGO either one works, actually.
Congrats on 10K Kelton! I remember watching your 1,000 subscriber special. You've been a huge inspiration for my own channel. Have you ever considered reviewing the Lone Ranger wave of sets that came out in 2013 because you love Western so much?
Great idea! I have a handful of those sets.
Amazing job! From the sheer quality of your videos, there are many, MANY, more thousands of subscribers to go! I remember that Bioncle retrospective you posted literally made me piece together Lewa and Kopaka, and purchase Gali on Bricklink. Before that, I hadn't even been much of a Bionicle fan! XD
LOVE hearing stories like that! Thank you for the support from the beginning!
Congrats on 10K! Your content is supremely high quality and I love your retro pieces. Keep up the great work!
More and more coming your way!
Thank you so much for including my question! Congrats on 10K, and I love the fact you draw inspiration from RR Slugger and TrikBrix - my other two FAVORITE retro LEGO channels! Keep up the awesome work, dude!
They’re the ones who showed me it was possible!
Well musical talent explains the professional sounding voice.
Haha thanks 🙏 Couldn’t help but slip some theatre-geekiness in 😆
Getting Neptunes base and Enchanted island sets as a kid was so awesome! Greatful for my childhood in the 90s with all the great lego at affordable prices.
Lucky kid! What a time to be a Lego kid!
@keltondavisLEGO yes we were all a Zach/Mac/Jack the lego maniac 😅
i can't belive Kelton is a real face having person EDIT: as per the questions, i can see why M-Tron would be better once you have it in hand for sure. and as someone growing up in at the period of timecruisers i did not vibe with it at all beck then, since it basically was stuff i was already doing as a kid mashing themes together. so having dedicated sets for the same thing felt redundant. a large pirate display sounds lovely as well. i dont think there are any wrong answers though. also as a Rivendell owner, it is probably my favourite set of all time. so i would definitely recomend you pick it up before it retires
It’s wild!! 😝
It's so weird to see you face!
Imagine seeing that every day! 😂
Thanks for letting me be in the video. It was an honor.
Any time! Thank you for participating.
Congratulations once again on 10,000! So happy to have discovered your channel 😄
So happy to have you on board! Thank you 🙏
I though you use Ai voice 😭😭 Im so happy it's not
That’s honestly a big part of why I show up on camera every once in a while 😂 I guess I sound like a robot 😆
10,000 ? 99000000 to go
Let’s GOOOOOO!
Congrats again on 10K ! 🎉
Thank you!! 🙏
Congrats on 10k, Kelton. Maybe we can get the channel to 100k for the silver play button 🤔
That’s the hope! Thank you! 🙏
Hi Kelton! Was watching a documentary on space shuttle discovery
Glad I could usurp that for a moment! 😂
The black Aquanauts visor is used as a broken helmet part for battle damaged Darth Vader in the Force Unleashed set.
Didn’t know that! Now that’s some creative part usage.
Bookshop❤❤❤❤❤
Just a lovely set
The colour palette on this theme is amazing. I also love how there were a few smaller, more affordable sets. Those are my favourites.
I think the smaller ones are particularly strong here. Great theme all around!
As someone who is just beginning his Lego journey, this is a quality and inspirational setup and video you got here. Thanks for the great work!
Thanks a bunch! Hope it gives you some inspiration!
As much as these sets like to be cool, if they ever step foot on my frozen Ice planet they will feel the full force of the Blizzard Barron.
Their jackets just ain’t thick enough!
As a 90s kid, this is my favorite space theme. The color scheme was always the big draw for me. Defender is a worthy #1, but I have a lot of personal nostalgia for the Ice Station Odyssey despite its flaws. Now I feel old.
It might just be my favorite now, too!
Fun fact! Ann Droid is Major Kartofski's sister.
Evil Twin brother, perhaps??
Have the deep sea predator. One of my all time favorite sets. It’s arms have almost all become brittle and broke tho….
Yeah, those arms haven’t exactly stood the test of time, especially when well played-with.
Old Lego sets were so much fun! Nostalgia hit me!
That’s what this channel is all about!
I recently build a large Space project that incorporated a fair amount of Blacktron II stuff and boy was it hard to get all the pieces I needed (and some of the parts I wanted I was never able to obtain at all like the white chainsaw body and that round tile with the arrow on it). Just obtaining enough trans-fluro-green for what I was doing was hard...
CURSE the retirement of Trans neon green’
I was looking for this theme for soo long. For some reason I thought it was an IRL artic explorer theme from a little bit latter
Loved that one too! Hope to cover it on the channel.
I took Major Vonregs Star Wars set and added some M-Tron bits to it. Very simple, But does the job. That little robot went on many adventures with this set and me.
Ooh, creative approach! I love the robots and droids from the 90s.
Thank you. I’m more a build from the instructions guy. And it seemed simple for me. I plan on taking the black falcon and adding BlackTron bits. Just need to find donors bc I don’t want to take my OG sets apart . Another simple custom!
wow just an amazing winter village, definitely some inspiration for this years winter/christmas village i'm building for the first time ever. I know it is just January but preperation is key ☺. I find it difficult to know what i need to build such an big project. Aside from baseplates and buildings from the winter collection i need alot more bricks 😅😅 How did you know how much bricks you needed? because my space for next year can hold 8 baseplates (2 x 4) so not as big as yours. but i was thinking like you of an elevation with buildings on top because of my limited space. Where did you bought your bricks? From lego or Bricklink? Thanks in advance.
Thank you! I literally just guessed and hoped I was right 😂
I had the supernova II. I loved that thing. and the spy buggy.
Love that there were sets of all sizes and prices.
I loved these.
Rightly so!
all #1 I have the full line and there all my fave Lego set of all time
Lucky! What a great sub theme.
The tunnelator was the first thing I ever purchased with my own allowance as a kid. I didn't grow up with a wealthy family(quite the opposite🥲) So when I had picked this thing out at my local Zellers, I remember my parents really being adamant with the whole "you're SURE you want this?' And not only was I 100% sure, but it's one of my favorite Lego vehicles of all time. The imagination and adventures I had driving that thing around the house was worth every penny 🥰 Years later family altercations had made me loose this precious set and I've wanted to grab one off the second hand market for a long time. Since then I've Moc'd my own Ice planet Vehicles and am thrilled about the updated 2.0 CMF minifigure they released ❤
Ice Planet MOCs are a real rabbit hole, I’m realizing. Sounds like a blast!
