I'm a born/mostly raised New Orleanian since 1995. And I'm Afro (black), all-Afro family from Louisiana. So, I get how extra expressive we can be. But watching this, I genuinely find it interesting that the only people who interacted with you walking by, even a little bit towards the camera, happened to be Afro. I'm primarily curious why nearly no others were nearly as interactive, and fun-looking. Not a bad thing, but I'm an ultra curious person, so human behavior definitely makes me extra curious.
I went in 2004 and again in 2019 and omg this place has changed. Between the dirt the smell, the drug addicts and the homeless I was in awe. It has changed so much. I was in a bar on bourbon street and a drug addicted was doing drugs in front of me. There’s an overpass where there are so many homeless people . New Orleans have high end malls, tourist all year round and do nothing for their homeless. So sad
Yes there is a huge homeless problem there. Was there for the Beyoncé concert Sept ‘23 and I was besieged by the homeless, some with drug problems, others were mentally ill. But larger cities in warm climates breed the homeless.
@@stonedog23after I came home I went to TH-cam to see why there were so many homeless and it was said that because of gentrification most can’t afford the rent there. Another video a guy came there for a job and they tore down the affordable income housing so he no longer could afford the rent there. I can’t understand why a city that has so much revenue all year long can do nothing about the homeless population

@@stonedog23 The city attract the homeless. Most of these people under the overpass are NOT native to the city or state.
At 12:40, I’m trying to see what’s going on here. The girls are in short shorts and there’s a dude in a winter coat all zipped up.

Guy throwing up gang signs is a prime example of why to avoid New Orleans
