Larry is honest, genuine, softspoken, and sensitive. He credits so many people for his success as Ritchie Petrie. See the episode with the two ducks that Ritchie tries to raise as pets. Dick and Larry as Rob and Ritchie just break your heart. Only watch this when you are feeling exceptionally strong. What Larry relates about Mary Tyler Moore was so touching.

What a nice person Larry Matthews is no airs just a sweet person . I grew up watching this show & loved it so funny . I feel sorry for the generation of today , they just don’t know what great TV we had in black & white 😅 unfortunately our society knows too much nowadays & sometimes that’s not good ,what wonderful memories we had from that era .,

Dick Van Dyke had that 98 Special, I wondered where Larry was, I worked with him at a colorization company in Hollywood, years ago when he was in sales. What a great guy. He was a joy to speak with and he discussed his days with DVD show. I just saw the clip in Post Production, he was doing well when I left there. He has changed, all grown up and nice to know he is still alive and looking healthy. So it was a real surprise and just to know he is alive and well is great. But Shame on not having him on the Memorial Show of the career of DVD. He would have been a really great addition to that show. It must have hurt not to be included, but hey Larry is right about the Corporate Money, etc. It hurt me to not see him on that show and I think millions other's too noticed his absence. Glad Larry is in a great place. I loved his stories and wondered always what happened to him. Larry if you ever see this, you were a great guy to work for.

At 77, I remember "The Dick Van Dyke Show" from its start in 1961 & consider it the first "modern sitcom"! From
having a young, sexy & "hip" mother, who wore capri pants & had just one child, to a Dad who wore 'continental suits',
& commuted to the suburbs, this show was the impetus for all future 1960 sitcoms, that would come after it! It's
great that we still have some of those 1950' & 60's 'child actors' like Larry,, around to tell the public how it was then!

I have diabetes as well; when I found out about it in 1990, I picked Mary Tyler Moore as an example of how to handle it. I'd say I made a good pick there because she made it to 80. She handled it very well, and she was a great example not only for me, but for so many others who wrestle with it. I always feel this way about Mary: She "turned the world on with her smile" and she "made it after all."

My grandma had old age diabetes, I remember she had a banana in the glove box when they came to visit and that there was concern about her veins collapsing from all her injections, she died 4 days before she turned 80 after eating chocolate. How things have changed, now most can reverse it with high fat, moderate protein, low carb eating.

No disrespect meant but the writers of The Dick Van Dyke Show made Richie look like a really stupid kid with the lines that they gave him to say.
I love watching the reruns of this and all of the other shows before my time.. but every time Richie says something dumb it just makes me cringe. Why did they do that to you? Smh

Why is Richie wearing earrings and nail polish?

Why? The painted nails, the drawn on eyebrows, ear rings, eyes lashes???

Why? Cali style. You can take the boy out of Cali, but ya' can't take the Cali outta' the boy. Besides, he's in Seattle... not much difference between the two.

Enough with the effusive praise about incredible charisma and brilliant comedic timing which the kid didn’t. I get tired of this show business 🐮💩wildly over praising someone to their face.

Very simple solution to your gripe. Rather than getting all angry and nasty, just don't watch. Fact is, don't think too many care less what you think compared to the vast majority of positive commentary here and people who clearly appreciate the interviews as presented on here.

@@joanneevans1295 was thinking the same thing. Why make a remark if it is just plain sour. Say a lot about the person.

What an unnecessarily miserable remark. I have enjoyed all of Craig's Celebrity Drop interviews.

He was rarely on the show and his acting was bad.

Another classy interview by Craig! Larry is an articulate, genuinely good person. I totally relate to the philosophy of my day being made if I made just one person laugh that day. Thank God for humor, and its power to make this crazy life a bit better. 🩷🙂
