529 main disadvantage : You can it only for kids education. It cannot be used for anything if your kid gets full scholarship. U can pass it to your granchild if unused.

Hello san ! , Thank you so much for the detailed information. IMO You are the first Tamil/Indian TH-camr who have spoken in detail regarding the college topic .you are a pioneer woman when it comes to US education. I wish other US TH-camrs follow you and share the much needed Info. I agree that we need entertainment stuff but along with that they can provide these kind of much useful and needed info. As a first generation immigrant the resources here are very limited. I don't have any relatives or close friends to share such info . Even friends here are much interested in hiding the info .Kudos to you for taking such a honest effort !. Awaiting for this series. Can you please share info on scholarship - my kid is born in India so is there any scholarship available here ? . Also SAT tutor that you have used .

Hi, may I know where your son is going? I am in socal and my son is applying this fall to the UCs. You've given very good information here. Thank you.
Likely : most of the admitted students have a profile similar to you in terms of gpa , ECs , Test scores etc
Target: about 50% of admitted students have a profile similar to urs so ur chance is about 1 in 2
Reach : majority of students have a profile and score better than you making the probability even lower for acceptance
The UCs are the most over hyped colleges ( I very much live in the Bay Area) . They lack infrastructure and support and security.My son is at Berkeley and i can say this with so much data that UCs suck! Please do urself a favor and apply elsewhere. Like so many things going downhill in this state , so are the universities!

Also it would be so great if you can make video for special needs college admission process. I am sure there are many parents sailing in same boat like me.
Because these special needs kids struggle a lot in life and it’s very hard for them to compete with regular kids because of their multiple challenges.
It would be so great if you can cover the area of special needs.

Hi , thanks a lot for the information. My daughter is 10th grade and age 14. She has more than 100 hours of volunteer hours. She like to enroll for The President's Volunteer Service Award. Could you pls help me with that
If your daughter has completed this 100 hrs from same organization, please check with organization if they can sponsor & send your daughter’s name for presidential award.
If it is not from same organization, find a non profit organization who sponsor kids for award once they complete the hours.
At what age did your daughter start volunteering? What kind of volunteering did she do?
