This video may be 3 years old but god damn it is an absolute life saver. I am in a digital media class and we just went over animation as our final project. The thing is, I’ve been sick for the past week and a half so I missed out on how to do any of this. If it wasn’t for this video I most likely would have failed. Also my teacher is still in college so asking him to work with me after school doesn’t really happen cause after he teaches us he immediately goes to class. SO thank you Jazza for this amazing video, I truly owe you something, I don’t know what it might be, but imma repay you somehow!

First I think you should see someone with an English career.
I just started using Animate and for me this video was a god send! You have to have the basics learned first. You kept saying "I know this is getting really boring" but not for me! I was worried you would skip or breeze over important stuff for sake of keeping your audience attention. I'm glad that did not happen. We need more video content like this on TH-cam because the ADD crowd seems to dictate what people create too often. Well done !
J Flynn he wasn't saying you don't, but taking the preferences of one group and letting that affect everything you do is also a problem no matter what group that may be. For example: if the OCD community were to dictate content creation, it would be quite different as well.

I really appreciate the entirety of this, it's so nice to see a tutorial thats long enough to include so many pieces, and know the minimum skill level of the person watching that part assuming they watched through the earlier parts. Frame shortcuts don’t work on my computer because I have a Mac, and the F5 key just adjusts the pop. I can’t fix it. I have to click on so many things just to add a frame.

blake. I got a new computer, an iMac 2017 instead of my old one. It now has F5 and F6 as shortcut keys. But the others till don’t work.

Just keep practicing man. It doesn't have to be perfect. Just jump straight to drawing. Just keep it simple at first, don't expect to do great work while your practicing. Just scribble away whatever is in your head. It might looks silly at first, can even be frustrating but it'll all workout in the end. Point is, get started on practicing :)

You are awesome man....Very recently i started working on Animate and was very confused because of its vector representation. I was about to give up and move to another pixel based animation software like Krita (where i used to work before). You cleared almost all my confusion and misconception. It's easy to use once you understand all the properties of tools and various software. I have seen so many tutorials so far but none of them explained it in so much detail. You are fucking awesome man

I've just switched over from CorelDraw to using Adobe, so the pace was perfect to get me suited to the Adobe space and tools as well as the program itself. Onion skin is impossible to use now. The pre-defined colors makes it ridiculously difficult to focus on one or the other. I can't wait for the update where they allow us to change the colors of it.
+Fernando Alvares i personally prefer the color change. If there's confusion then wire frame onion skin might help you. Either way, they'll be adding the customization option soon

Awesome content jazza, thanks- I hadn't touched Flash for many years and last week I had just 8 hours to create an ad for TV screens. This tutorial (and help from a very clever junior colleague) ensured that at least we didn't miss the deadline! I'd now consider dipping back in to animation again using Animate.

I really enjoy staying for an hour and forty-two minutes to learn about Animate CC. I've been using Adobe After Effects to do some motion graphics, but I wanted to tackle animation. This is really resourceful! Thanks Jazza!

I worked in Flash for many years right back when it was still Macromedia software. For many reasons I moved into 3D and haven't worked in Flash or Animate for over a decade.

Wow, my head is spinning with so much great info. I am greener than the grinch to animation, in fact this is the very first animation video tutorial I have watched. Thank you so much for creating this. While I have been drawing all my life I've never done animation however I've always wanted to give it a shot. Yes, it's just an updated version and a part of Creative Cloud (which is sadly the cancerous part of Adobe).
One thing is for sure. The way it's set up keeps you hooked. I wish I could continue to pay for Toon Boom Harmony.... but I just simply can't afford to have that and a CC subscription.

Hi Jazza. Why is it that your drawing screen seems to fit so well, but to get mine to fit I have to set it to 49%? Does it have to do with screen size?

New to flash, pretty good with photoshop, sadly I am stuck at around 24 minutes when he breaks apart the drawing and fills it in, when I break apart mine it wont fill. not sure why.
I pretty much have been following along, and drew an eye and eyebrow with object mode off, filled them in, then drew an eyebrow with object mode on(2 separate lines) aligned them so that they made a closure and broke apart, but it wont fill. Does anyone know what mistake I am making?

In my drawing apparently there was a line disconnected from the overall object(although it didn't appear so I saw a small white intrusion on my eye) I redrew the small section and was able to fill. thanks for anyone who looked here and thought about helping though
