@sticksbass Well you are right about that. The L shaped Tom Holders are really sturdy. The Ball type mounts haven't wore out for me yet. I think to make the Ball last longer you just find the right setting and keep it there. If you are a traveling drummer like me, I just keep the tom holder in the same spot and take it off the bass drum and pack it in my hardware case. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching. @exitoftheend Well it's a standard 22" Bass Drum. You may have to angle them more depending on how tall and how high you sit behind the kit. The toms sit pretty low on the this particular kit. So it's not a problem for different size drummers of all ages. Any other questions, let me know. Thanks for watching. Keep Rockin' JOEDRUMS2112
@Sheeleykk Well if you are trying to do the Bonham thing, You will have to drill small holes in the bass drum to mount the cymbal stand bracket. If you go with a multi-clamp on the bass drum tom holder you may have to get a really heavy duty clamp with a heavy duty boom stand. To support the bigger ride. Then you can do it the way I did was to just get a heavy duty boom stand for your ride and have it hang over your bass drum. That way you not messing with holes in the bass. Hope that helps JDS
I used to do the same thing when I first got my kit. This is why I prefer the smaller toms cause I like the toms lower, closer to the height of my snare, and you can't do that with the bigger toms. Now I don't even mount my toms, I have first rack tom connected to the crash stand on my left and my second rack tom connected to a crash stand on my right, placed as the first floor tom. So much better that way.
@randomgmrtag Maybe. It all depends on the type of tom mounts you have on your bass and how long the tom arms are. Some Tom arms are shorter than others. Thanks for watching. Keep Rockin' JOEDRUMS2112
@rockdrummer1011 Yea smaller kits are cool too. As long as you don't need the bigger sound. The kit will be more punchy and tight sounding. Keep Rockin' JOEDRUMS2112

HEY JOE! I liked you technique of angling the L-Arms downwards! I spend a lot of time adjusting my Toms to get that perfect angle! How much degree in pitch do you reccomended? More flat or more angle?
how big is that bass drum? cause when i set it up like that which is how i like it the toms are really far off the ground. i have to angle them alot towards me.
Hey joe, I was thinking about buying a cymbal stand that attaches to my bass drum (26 in), do I have to actually drill a hole in the bass drum or does it just stick on there? Do u recommend one? And it has to support my thick 22 in ride. Thanx

YES! I do the same! It makes set up and tear down a snap! Plus if you have your Memory locks set then your Toms will always stay in the best position!

i like those L type mounts. they seem the most durable and stable and the nylon ball type seem the worse to me. they seem as they could crack or slip.
