INSTALLATION & REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS:
STEP-1: Avoid static discharge by grounding yourself using a wrist grounding strap or by touching a bare metal surface like a connector on the back of the laptop and remove all of the power including the battery and power adapter.
STEP-2: Slide the battery latches towards the outside of the laptop until they click.

Seriously what was dell thinking. Basically take the whole laptop apart to repaste the CPU!
Can you make a video to how change the CPU ( Processor ) for a E7250? Does it compatible with a i7 5th gen ? Regards
I have an E7450 with an i7 and Nvidia GPU, which has a slightly different chassis. All I want to do is replace the fan! But I need to go through all these steps because the chassis covers the fan mounting :(
I have the same one and I just want to replace the thermal paste :(
To clean the Heatsink I've seen a lot less disassembly. Much more tolerable at 1.25 speed up

Lol was going to change the stock thermal paste for something better but that's way to much work.
Yup, won't be changing thermal paste anytime soon... Undervolting and cleaning fan should do it

Easier fix if you are not too fussed. Just get some fine snips and clip of part of the frame that is over the heat sink. No need to pull the whole thing apart
or remove the screws in the heatsink and fan then wiggle it out of place

Would've been good when I thought the frame was plastic! WTF, it's fool proof! They may have fired the genius who designed this as the next model thereafter isn't like this.

Removing 7-8 screws is enough on the second 7450 and a bit of coffee.
direct remove 2 screws fans then unplug fan cable then remove 4 screws cpu heatsink finally remove hehe

Jesus christ I bought one of these because I thought it would be easier to service than an HP. Lol nope
Holy crap now that I have it apart I found out why it is over heating the thermal paste is not applied to the second die...
And this stuff is hard and sticky like a combo of old chewing gum and glue.
From the online research i have done, the thermal paste should not be applied to the seccond, smaller die. The new heatsink designs are also produced like that, so it doesnt make contact with the seccond die. Its strange but thats how it works.
at first i was mad that he was taking apart everything when all i wanted was to see how to take off the heat sink and at the end i relies you have to do all of this just to reapply thermal paste :0
