    Hello this is Russ Beasley with Southern Tactical. I personally don’t like the BFPU in these rifles. We were requested to build some as such for the people that do.
    We have since been doing them all as Parkerized finish going forward like the original guns. We make sure the mag well is fairly tight to fit a wide range of surplus mags on the market. We haven’t had any issues with that or any warranty work for that issue. To be Honest we have built about 150 and only have had (2) come back in.
    As for the charging handle there isn’t but some many 922R parts available for these guns. We have to have the required amount to be legal. If we don’t use the charging handle we have to go into the trigger parts. There are no Cetme specific 922R parts for the trigger group which means we would have to go to a G3 trigger pack as G3 and Cetme C parts are not interchangeable unless you swap complete trigger groups.
    That being said we want you to be happy with your product if you would like pm and we will refinish your gun on the house. They are a little tight the first few magazines breaking in good.

      Turbothis at one time made a 922 trigger group for the cetme but sadly he stopped making them and likely not at any sort of numbers youd need for production

      Well thats nice to thing to see from a manufacturer (Offer for re-finish)
      I'd buy one from ya but Ive got a CETME & reside in WA state where everything is verboten now (Kindve, Whidbey Island more specifically, we refer to the mainland as 'America'...;)
      As to BFPU, is that really a 'thing' currently?....Ha!...
      Sheeut, guess more than half of my firearms are in such a condition?...
      Also possess a "Salt-Water Pick Up" on a Zas M85 I just passed by a minute ago noticing the finely loved finish. AKA: RUST-PATINA eatin away at 'er...;)
      Guess Ive got a "Frankenstein Pick-Up" too? (ART & firearms DO mix freely)....Cool to see domestic G3's. Nice work(s)...

    I have an old Cetme Model C I got many moons ago. No worries, you can basically refinish and paint this rifle, spare parts are plentiful and cheap and you can upgrade the buffer system and trigger. I have a 2 pound trigger on this beast with the old flip G3 rear sight and the extended charging handle and she rock n rolls all day. You can't hurt this rifle and the more you shoot her and play around with it you'll find you have a very reliable and accurate friend. HK magazines may need some filing for fit but that's easy. Scope her for distance shooting and you'll be very happy.

    Consider comparing it to the century Arms C308 (cetme)?
    I paid like $600 for a century arms c308 a couple years ago . It was like half the price as your southern tactical. It’s been a great rifle, and decent quality especially for century arms.

    • @THEPAGUNGUY
      @THEPAGUNGUY  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That’s cause century didn’t make them. There put together by PTR for century. Fast forward to today and century released a new 308 on the kits and there like 900 so you can’t compare prices from years ago to todays shit fest

    I picked up a ST Galil SAR p&w about a year ago and opted for the refinished version as it was only 50 more. I don’t have any complaints about the rifle but the magazine they supplied was completely thrashed. A small complaint but I was surprised seeing a like new rifle with a raw looking magazine.
    I want to take a chance on their m16a1’s but I’m a little weary until I see more reviews. I don’t doubt Atlantic hand picks the best looking one for their videos and for 1300 it’s took much of a gamble when dealing with a rifle that shouldn’t cost more than 1000.

    • @THEPAGUNGUY
      @THEPAGUNGUY  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would either get a M16A1 parts kit from Atlantic and build it myself or send it to Fulton Armory to build the upper. The other option it to get a M16A1 from H&R arms (PSA) the A1 from southern tactical has the modern lower and I think it looks like crap. You can get the parts kit and get the correct lower from H&R and it will cost less or just buy a A1 from H&R it will be the same price but all parts correct (however it’s not using surplus parts)

    That’s super unfortunate. I do have one of their vz.58’s and I’m reasonably happy with it. Only issue I’ve found is they didn’t loctite the stock bolt so the stock would work loose with use, but it’s a trivially easy fix (what gun enthusiast doesn’t already have loctite on hand?), also it’s not a bfpu (not sure that offered a bfpu vz58 to begin with) so the finish isn’t so weird looking. I think it’s miles better than the Century builds. In the other hand, if that’s what their cetme-c builds are like, I’m glad I have a C308.

    It's not uncommon to have to beat the pins out on an HK rifle when they're new. Get yourself a mallet and a plastic or brass punch set.
    Much of what you're whining about is stabdard fair with G3 & CETME rifles. 🤠

      As far as the welds no not specifically so I’m assuming it’s fine they did talk to me for about 30 mins on the phone about the fitment and stuff and even offered to refinish the gun for me for free. Not sure if you seen but I have a update video the link is in the pinned comments

    Unless you have giant hands and freakishly long fingers 91s HAVE >BAD< ERGOS. You will also find if you are A reloader the fluted chambers on A 91 damage your brass A fair percentage of the time. I own A 91, I should have bought A FAL back then instead when FAL quality was not A dice roll as to whether they will function well consistently. Good luck with it! Look up >>Bill Springfield

    Damn man! That’s disappointing! I’ve been eyeing these builds ever since they came out. I guess I can forgive them for not using a CETME flash hider (easy fix). But that charging handle is NOT a CETME charging handle. Think I’m gonna pass on these. Thanks for the review!

      So apparently someone from southern tactical saw this video there suppose to call me today and send me a prepaid label and there gonna fix the issues and refinish the gun. Also I geuss there calling Atlantic Firearms and telling them there not doing any more BFPU apparently it was AF that requested the BFPU look. I’ll let you know how it goes and I’ll make another video with everything if this actually happens.

      Not sure why people want a rifle that looks like shit.
      To make a rifle actually look like a BFPU, you have to take a drill or buffer wrapped with denim and waste the next 4-5 hours of your life slowly rubbing that finish off the high points. No company can afford to do it properly. That's why you do it yourself. Most guys won't take the time to do it properly themselves. It's a labor-intensive job.

    the hole between the handguard and the magwell is the barrel pin hole that locks the trunnion and barrel in together. the trunnion on the CETMEs are a little bit different from G3 trunnions and the flat they used is for the G3. what southern tactical should have done is welded the hole and re-drilled it to make the pin hole line up with the receiver, the barrel is made by PTR and isn’t even threaded for the correct pitch that the CETME C uses. it’s sloppy work and definitely not worth the $1100 price tag.
