Congrats and good luck to you both. I would rate it a bit higher due to the ideas (and easy length). I’m not really a fan of his writing style and the ending. I remember reading the book as a kid and thinking it’s all nonsense and futuristic magic. Nobody would just stare at a screen of nonsense entertainment all day and not read any books. Reading it again more recently I was shocked how wrong I was which you point out very well in this review.

Thanks, we'll need the luck! And lots of good books to get us through it.

Haha do you think we'll be able to keep up the bi-weekly pace? We're both extremely optimistic, but that might be do to our extreme lack of experience

This is the first time I "liked" a video before watching it, just because of the thumbnail image. I can't believe you guys got me to LMAO at BOOK BURNING. P.S. Your video was great as usual. I had to do a reality check and verify it was really only 158 pages. I can't believe how many ideas are in there.

I enjoyed this commentary, but you didn't connect the true greatness of this book. This book is the most relevant of the dystopian novels because most ideas in the book are happening today. Most people today only want to be entertained like Mildred, and don't want to read books. Therefore, the government can control the population through propaganda because the majority of citizens are ignorant and only desire to have pleasure. For those who are arguing for truth, the government and powerful people are suppressing their speech and strive to destroy their reputations. I give this book a 5 with ease.

Glad to hear you loved this one! Agreed it’s the most spot on in western countries, it’s the totalitarian countries in the world doing the 1984 version.
