Y'know, I just realized something - Ben and Kush are the two versions of the stereotypical high-end chef. Ben's how normal people envision a fancy chef in that he's eloquent in these challenges and all clean and explaining everything like an instructor as he works. And then we've got Kush the kitchen goblin, whose ability to make anything delicious is only rivaled by his ability to talk shit.

Yeah naw mate, that is not the same. When you are cooking for people and they are there and waiting they feel bad just standing there so they will help, you aren't doing anything. The more impressive thing is if you can force everybody to give you zero help because that actually takes effort.

The absolute best part of this is 9:54 where Jamie asks why he had to fry 12 of the "falafel" and instead of responding Kush just laughs like a witch. Fantastic

I freaking love that Kush is deliberately attempting to make Jamie an accomplice in what he expects to be an absolute culinary tragedy.
Kush brings the "quirky" and I'm here for it. I was a little disappointed, after the bite toppled into his hand, that he didn't just reach up and stuff it into Jamie's face straight out of his hand. Still, great job and can't wait for the next one.

Look Jamie the Barry Taylor style of cooking is legitimate kush and Barry were only pre heating the hob so it'll heat a pan quicker maybe.

@@SortedFood Yes blind taste test a big mac with ebbers... it is very doubtful he will have the same kind of negative reaction he would if he were to just eat one. Even better you could lie to him during the taste test and then force him to eat a big mac for a bit later and then compare the reactions and show him that he his being overly dramatic.
I like this "from the side" angle of the kitchen. It's just a small change but it really makes the space look so different and interesting!
This isn't new... there are at least a few other vids where they have done this...

The word talent should be almost insulting to anyone who has worked as hard as Kush certainly has to hone his craft. He wasn't born a chef.
This is a weird idea but what about taking an elevated dish of gourmet origins and turning it into a Fast food that one of the kids would eat?

The way Kush sliced those jalapeños while looking at Jaime already had me impressed. And scared.

I was picturing something along the lines of giving Kush the raw ingredients (down to the gram) that turned into a Subway sandwich just to see what he'd come up with, but this is pretty cool as well.
Thoroughly enjoyed this. Kush definitely smashed that! I also want to mention what a brilliant move it has been to bring Kush out from behind the scenes and get him on some videos!! I absolutely love what his talents, personality and sense of humour bring to the show! I listen to Sorted at work and no matter what the dish or challenge, I always pause to check out the sexies. There's something about amazing visuals of food that makes me so happy.

I feel like Subway was a better starting point than most fast food, because their ingredients are already slightly better quality for the most part

This would be such an amazing series, and Kush / Jamie are the perfect combo, they work off each other so well. They both have amazing charisma on their own, but together it just amps it up to the next level.

I didn't know the fast food transformation was a thing. That was insanity and I love the idea of making "falafel" out of random ingredients. I really enjoyed the Kush cooking segment from the last Live show and he does so well in the chat/teach/cook format.
