I wish I discussed this in my review but I thought Tatiana's statement on the meaning of the song was very interesting. “´Someone’s Daughter´ is an artistic attempt to cast the light on the inner world of women, who in various scenarios and circumstances, have had to choose a path that was historically made by men. In a world where women are often underestimated and overlooked, they are still powerful heroes who navigate hardship with strength and resilience, unapologetically becoming themselves and breaking barriers in the face of the challenges that face them. ‘Someone’s Daughter’ celebrates transition from naivety into wisdom, weakness into force, unwavering determination and fearlessness as our mothers, sisters, daughters and wives walk through adversity and fight for better change. These women are often forgotten but they have earned respect. They‘ve earned mine, that’s for sure!”
I love this new song by Jinjer, always love Jinjer! I love the portrayals of Cleopatra, Joan of Arc, Marie Curie and Georgia O'Keefe, although since we know Tatiana loves Frida Kahlo (as do I) because of that tattoo on her arm, I will always think of that character in this video as Georgia O'Keefe on the outside and Frida Kahlo on the inside. Great reaction! I do also like Jinjerale 🤣 Thank you for bringing more of the fantastic music of Jinjer to more people! ❤️ 🖤 🤘
Jinjer is always fun. It feels like all sorts of different genres mixed with metal that you just don't hear as much. Not saying they are the only ones but they just always seem to have their unique sound.
The latest few albums have gotten very progressive in their song structures to the point where there aren’t really verses/choruses or even much of any repeated sections. I feel like this makes them less accessible on first listen but REALLY grow on you (I especially felt that way on Wallflowers). It’s like they cram so much into each track that you have to give it a few listens to really absorb it.
I have always loved the instrumentals of JINJER. The production/mix. The bass tone and the damn drums always make my ears happy. The guitar tones are always nice too, but I have always loved what Eugene does on the bass. It's always tasteful to the ears.
I got slight Mudvayne vibes with how the bass was mixed, and some of the vocal choices kind of reminded me of Deliverance/Damnation era Opeth. Love it!!! Also shout out to the production. It sounds more real and less processed than most modern metal.
Jinjerale is the best type of musical drink. Jinjer is one of those bands I dont actively follow but never seem to be disappointed by any of their music. Solid as usual from Jinjer.
Jinjerale was a pretty clever pun not gonna lie🤣 I’d give it a solid 9/10 and agree with the guy who commented saying he’s not always hyped for new Jinjer music, but when it happens it doesn’t disappoint. Completely agree. Although I love Jinjer, I’m not actively seeking for new music to drop. I love a little surprise when they drop music tho
honestly i liked this a lot. i ddin't even know jinjer was dropping new music until it popped up on my recommended a few days ago, and i decided to check it out cause why not. easy 8/10 for me, solid song overall, and Tatiana is a fucking insane singer, her cleans are amazing
I really dug this song.....the songs from Wallflower didn't really hit me the same as their Micro/Macro releases. But this, with its Point A to B structure was a welcome change, and the build and variation along the way just made it that much better. Interested to see where the next singles go. Jinjer Ale or Ginger Ale? Either way, you can't go wrong with some craft brewed spicy ginger beer.
Jinjerale it is I suppose 😉 I really liked this single -- felt more like wallfower than pisces in terms of progression. Jinjer is always top-shelf though regardless.
First heard jinjer with sit stay roll over however many years ago that was, and i really didnt dig that song. Fast forward a few months and i heard just another and was blown away. Checked out the whole album and loved it. Pisces was a good release later down the line, i loved that song too, just something about tatianas clean vocals that i love, and yeah its irrelevant but man shes smoking in that video. Anyways decided id changed my opinion on the band and saw them play like a 150 cap venue in the uk, that was an incredible intimate show honestly. Fast forward again to micro, again mostly loved it, then macro, not keen at all. Not been that into anything theyve put out since honestly. Funny because around the time i fell off they were getting bigger than ever. Must say though i liked this song more than most of their recent efforts. Again this one being mostly her feminine cleans might be why, maybe her screams are getting samey i dont know. And fwiw she really suits the cleopatra look. Also lol jinjer ale

first time i was like 7.5/10, but hearing more and more to understand the song i became addicted to it lol, 10/10
Jinjer are masters of making the listener go from, "Not bad" to, "Well, that was great."
This song gets better each listen. Loved it on first listen, now i get chills each time. 10

Yeah, a solid banger! Really love the production (as always with Jinjer) especially the guitar tone! 👌🏻 Really looking forward to the album now. 🤘🏻🔥

An absolutely banger this was. Love it all. The video/audio production was off the charts.
Love me some jinjer ale. Always hyped when they drop new music.

I actually wasn't sold at first listen but it's growing on me more and more! Very Happy that we finally got to quench our Jinjerale thirst 😂
They went heavy and melodic in a very balanced manner, big kudos as always to this band

Well if I remember correctly Opeth is a big influence for them so good catch
I love the entire band. It has absolutely no weak link whatsoever, but Marie Curie Tatiana really was a good look!!!
Cleopatra Tati is my favorite!
Jinjer always delivers
JINJER being JINJER and it's all a JINJER'S FAN needs, I love The music, talent AND lyrics, AND for me always be AWESOME !!!!!

Нарешті розпочалось 21-ше століття в сучасній музиці

I think every song on Wallflower is great and this sounds like one from that album

Also lol jinjer ale
Sure do like a nice glass of Jinjer ale in the morning.
This sounds more like their song "Vortex" has that same crunchy bass in it.
Ngl i instantly thought of Make Them Suffer as well lmaooo
Ginger ale❤️
All the opeth fans over here tapping our feet like Sonic when you put the controller down 🤣😂
After a couple of mediocre albums this is sounding so fresh. More controlled.
Jinjerale😂
Jinjer sound like tool (if tool would make metal...;) ... ) .... and yes: Vlad's drumming is insane ... close to tomas haake/Dany carey
Ginger Ale
