THANK YOU 🙏🏾
I’ve seen a lot of diy videos regarding screen printing and I have to say, this is one of the most creative I’ve seen... some other videos used a heavy duty stapler (I don’t have one) but you used duct tape! Some use permanent vinyl... others htv and the most meticulous ones use burning and emulsion... you used freezer paper (a bit pricey but last a long, long time) and mod podge. Genius! I realized I have all the materials at home, and even a Cricut! This video just opened a whole new world of creativity. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much, Nancy! We wanted to challenge ourselves to find a way to print using all store bought materials, so I'm glad this video was an inspiration to you! We'd love to see what you end up printing.
This is amazing!! This is the easiest and straightforward video I've seen on YT for cheap screen printing. I can easily buy these things today. Thank you, thank you so much!!
FYI: I just purchased a brand new Silhouette Curio from Wal-Mart for $129, $149 with shipping. I’ve been buying craft cutters for years now, and I’ve never paid over $200 for one. Secondly this guys video was excellent, and I’ll be subscribing. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!
Just to throw this out there, nobody has to down this guy or be judgemental. Every innovator brings something different, unique, and revolutionary to the table. Nobody said that you’d ever take to every style either, to each it’s own. However when we start bashing someone based on their approach, we’ve therefore stunted our growth as artists and people as a whole.
We can treat videos from him or whoever like we’ve got the option to play panel member from American Idol to over compensate our own egos, or we can choose to learn/acquire new skill sets to be able to place food on our tables. The corporate world is becoming a lot more merciless, cold, and cunning folks with no sunnier days in store. However we’ve got the chance now to survive on our own 2 feet, and never work a day in our lives. It’s up to us. Access gold like this while it’s free, before a corporate license/price tag is placed on it.
Best video out there on the topic.
Your way is the best I have seen. Very professional and easy to do. I will print my flag !!!!!
Brilliant!
I’ve watched a few screen print videos, and yours was by far the easiest!
All I’m wanting to do is make some labels for items I have knitted, crocheted and sewn - both from either preloved clothes or items I make.
Thank you! xxxxx
The best screen printing tutorial i've ever watched🙏
Thanks Tito! We appreciate that.
I love it!! you're the first of many many videos i've watched that actually making this for "cheap"... something i'm going to change when i do my own, is that i will not use mod podge cuz it is water soluble, but i'll just use acrylic paint medium as the blocker... once its dry it will be permanent, and easier to see than mod podge :) THANKS!!
ok, well the paint didn't work as well as i expected because it wasn't thick enough. so i went over the paint with mod podge.
this is awesome now i know how to make a screen print on a bigger frame..i just purchased speedball step one stencil for 13 bucks priced down from 60 dollars at hobby lobby..
This is what i have been looking for!!! Waw!!! PLEASE PLEASE DO MORE OF THIS VIDEO...
Hey Brenda. Sorry for the belated reply! What sort of video would you like to see us do?
Woh thats cool thanks for showing 👍
this is great, thanks!
Pretty cool tutorial overall. Even if they watch just to see how to make a DIY screen.
Great! What kind of template did you use?
Is there any substitutes to freezer paper?
Thank You This Is Honestly One Of The Best Ones Ive Seen And Most Budget Friendly. I Cant Wait To Get To Work 😊🙏✊ Vibes High
Thanks for the kind words! We'd love to see what you come up with!
This is craaaazy!! If you had a paper cutting machine it would be soo easy!! Can you use these for screen printing small items and onto another surface other than fabric?
Totally! As long as you have an ink that will stick to the material you are printing you should be good to go!
Rendered Screen Print + Design thanks so much.
Knew this video was for me when I saw the duct tape
Cool is there a vid on Multi colored designs?
this is amazing! I'm not sure what I'm more impressed with - the process or that detailed cutting! I'm going to try this for sure!
Hey thanks! The cutting definitely took some time, but we were happy with it. I recommend a sharp X-acto knife to make it easier.
Wow, this is excellent. I wonder if the process could be repeated but instead of cutting out the cat, you cut the cat in and then use the paper as the stencil and tape it in?
What specific shower curtain is this?
It said "sheer window curtain" in the video, best bet is something close to a lace curtain but with smaller holes.
Did you guys end up testing the wash-rate of the freeze paper stencil? So keen to try this for some DIY merch but worried the freezer paper may tear?
Hey! The freezer paper is only used to block out the areas that you are painting the Mod Podge on, so once you get that step finished the freezer paper isn't used again. Freezer paper is just convenient to use because it's readily available and can stick to the screen while you put the Mod Podge on. You could also try sticker vinyl instead of freezer paper if you want something that is a little sturdier. Let me know if that makes sense.
Ohhh! Just watched the video again. Yes, that makes sense -- thank you! Might try the vinyl sticker instead since I have that at home. Thanks for sharing this project!
This is cool.
Real useful! Great video!
Thanks Luis. It's pretty rough but it's definitely a start to get into screen printing.
Hi there I would like to know where do you buy a freezer paper? Because it mostly plastics not white one.. pls tell me what stores should l buy it, thanks
We ended up buying ours at Fred Meyer (Kroger), which is just a standard grocery store. I imagine any Safeway, Albertsons, or Kroger would have the same freezer paper.
What about target or Walmart or food 4 less? Save a lot?
@@prettylady5247 I would think so! From what we can tell it's a pretty standard Reynold's product. Check the baking section, as well as the food storage section near the ziplock bags.
Can you hear set speed ball screen printing ink with a heat press ? (It sounds like common sense but just making sure lol )
Fullrusher that should totally work! I don’t see why not.
That is really awesome!!
Thanks Amber. We appreciate the feedback.
It worked, not well, but it worked. Would have been better to just stick the stencil on the bottom. ❤️😎👍
Nice! That’s a great suggestion.
great video the best I've seen so far. Just a question, can we reuse the same screen for another design?
I don't think so. I don't know of any way to remove the mod podge from the screen. Your best bet would be to remove the fabric from the frame and reuse the same frame.
They are so cheap to make that it doesn't really matter.....Maybe make another screen but don't use modge podge to stain the screen but only use the stencil directly on your t-shirt.
Where can I get this freezer paper
You can usually find it in the baking section of a grocery store, or next to the parchment paper and plastic wrap.
Is it ok to buy non-stick paper ( parchment)
Probably not. The purpose of the freezer paper is so it holds in place while you paint the stencil on, since the plastic on the back melts into the fabric a little bit. If you can find some other sticky paper that might work too.
Ok.. I am try to finding this freezer paper for sticky like yours.. what about in EBay ?
@@prettylady5247 It is sold in every grocery store and discount store, everywhere. Stocked with/by, tinfoil and clingwrap.
Wow I want to try that
It is really fun! If you have free time this weekend you should totally go for it.
Can I reuse the picture frame for the same print?
Yes, you should be able to as long as the glue has completely dried before you print. We recommend water based (acrylic) fabric paint or screen printing inks. It should hold up just fine. Just be pretty liberal with the glue so it builds up nicely.
Rendered Screen Print + Design Thank You, you just got a sub ;)
@@rendered-co Hi! I tried it myself. But when I gently washed the paint of the screen, the glue sort of 'melted' away. How can I do it better the next time? Fist I used cold water and later a bit warmer, then of course the glue faded away more easy... (it was already going away..).
I hope you have suggestions for me because I like to use the screen print again and again... super good video and good idea!
Thank you for your reply!
@@meSjoske Hey there. What sort of glue and ink did you use for the print? Some inks can wash away the print, but I haven't tested it a lot to see what works and what doesn't. The glue/modpodge will definitely have to be completely dry before putting the ink on, and it should be pretty thick. When we used Modpodge in combination with fabric paint the screen stayed together even after washing.
What if you want to do multiple colors?
It might be a little tricky to do with this setup, but you could do it.
1. Start with the first color you want to print and tape off the rest of the design with masking tape.
2. Print the first color and dry the ink with a blow dryer.
3. Clean the ink off the screen and remove the tape from where you want the second color to go.
4. Tape off the area of the first print color and line up the screen directly over the print.
5. Print the second color and dry the ink with a blow dryer.
6. Repeat the process for any other colors.
It's going to be tedious but it's actually how we printed our first 3 color job on 80 shirts when we first started up. Good luck and let me know how it works out!
Rendered Screen Print + Design thanks this is my first time screen printing I appreciate the steps! Could you make a video in the future or suggest one on multicolor screen printing diy
We'll see what we can come up with!
If I use normal glue or fevicol?
Maria Afrin you could take some standard white glue, like Elmer’s Glue, and add some water to make it thinner. That should work.
Nice!
how to remove the glue from the screen for another printing?
Top video that’s a good question. We never made it that far. I would suspect it would be very difficult to remove the stencil. It might be best to just start with a new piece of fabric at that point.
Great! Thx (:
Smart!
Thanks! It was pretty fun to do.
L'unico vantaggio è la riproducibilità, per il resto la cara vecchia candeggina fa un lavoro migliore.
Too much work, why to do it like that if you can do it better, faster and easier... Only stencil and spray/paint directly on t-shirt and that's it and it's, forever? ! !
Way... way ... way too much work..
You need to watch "Doing The Freezer Paper
T-Shirt Method by Heather Green...
She only uses the Freezer Paper...
That's a great video! Thanks for sharing. The beauty of screen printing is being able to reproduce multiple prints with the same screen. Our goal was to do that with materials we could buy at a store. It's not the best process but it's doable :)
First of all she has a machine to do her stencils other than that it’s the same
The only reason Heather Green's process seems like a lot less work is because she has a die-cut machine. If you've got $500 to spend then "more power to ya"...otherwise, this is the only other way for d.i.y. die-cut.

shirt came out like shit, but other than that.. good video I guess. lol
