There was a Taco Bell just like that one on Brookhurst, near my house in Anaheim in the 1960s. Very fond memories of walking there with my older sisters. Every thing on the menu was 19 cents! Drinks were a dime!
Taco Bell should buy a piece of property and recreate the outdoor seating ambiance with fire pits and such that Numero uno had. Similar concept to “The Silos” that Magnolia built
I want to use this segment on my radio talk show this Saturday night on AM 870 The Answer KRLA. Great history..... Thanks for saving a part of Southern California's history.....
I heard there is a webcam where the move can be watched is this right and would you please post a link if ii is? Glad the Bell is saving this piece of American history.

I remember before it changed hands a few dozen times the old original. Near where my uncle still lives and probably the last white person left in Downey. I remember the oldest McDonald’s battling with post Kroc McDonald’s built a bloc up the street. The one with a big speedy on it and also iconic. Downy really was fast food epicenter
Too bad Taco Bell taste horrible. I was a kid in the '70s and a teen in the '80s. Taco Bell was so much better then but for some reason when they were bought out by Pepsi and Yum Brands they kept on changing the formula for the taco meat recipe and over the years it taste so horrible. If any of you could go back in time and try the original recipe you would not want to eat the current taco offerings. Any of you remember how good it was? And don't say oh it was better because you were a kid. No it's completely different. Taco Bell why did you change the recipe? Yum Brands bring back the original recipe. It actually taste good unlike what you offer now.
I think this is the webcam link. oxblue.com/open/TB/NumeroUno . There's a picture right now, but no movement yet. I think after the move this comment will be irrelevant.
Funny, the billion dollar company didn't seem to care about the building before it was going to be demolished. For decades it was an independent restaurant. This whole thing was a publicity stunt.
i would like to take this opportunity to demand demand demand that taco bell bring back my f$##n taco bell grande back dam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!so pissed thank you. lover of your. taco bell grande and taco bell grande lights as well damit
WHY DO JAPAN TACO BELL HAVE COCA COLA DRINKS? USA SHOULD ALSO HAVE COCA DRINKS. THE OLD TACO BELL THEY SHOULD RESTORE IT LIKE IT LOOKED SINCE IT 1ST OPENED.

It’s amazing that this relic of American fast food history is preserved at the Taco Bell headquarters.

you should make a taco Bell history museum
I agree we need a open air museum dedicated to old building
It’s sad the bell part isn’t there anymore
It's make me happy how a company still cares about there first location even if it takes time and effort.
I'm glad it's saved
This is society's fault... Would prefer this Taco Bell walk up window any day over the sit down restaurants, especially in the summer.
Agreed
My favorite Taco Bell is the one in Las Vegas! 🥳
Its still sitting in the HQ parking lot as of 2022.

Glad they REALLY did this!
Please set up the Numero Uno with a vintage, or recreated, sign! We would love that. :-)
Lets put a whole building in storage until we find a use.
Hope for an update soon
