It was the Beatles’ first appearance on American television, and that landmark concert has gone on to become one of the most important events in the history of American pop culture. I attended the Sullivan show that night in 1964 and sat in the first 3 rows. ALL 3. By myself. The staff clearly knew I was a huge fan, so they didn't want me to be tied to just one view of the stage. It was so thoughtful considering how in-demand tickets were that night. During a commercial break, George decided to prove he was not such a quiet Beatle and, seeing I was the only one in the first 3 rows, invited me up on stage to hold one of Ringo's drums for the next song. I crouched down with the drum on my head and stayed motionless throughout "I want to Hold Your Hand". It was difficult because my head was hurting after the first 2 minutes from all the drumbeating. I got through it though. If you look closely at the footage of that song on that night, you can see me, I think.

I remember my teacher in School ( Liverpool, Merseyside ) telling the class " boys, this time next year people will have forgotten this group ever existed" A year later he told the class about the chaos on the plane that was taking the band to their first US tour. He was on the same aircraft.

I actually turned this on without knowing that it was from ClickHole - I was confused at how much time they took to list all 21 members of the Beatles, then finally started paying attention when the lady started talking about the Fern. Then the God of the Beatles came out.

Anyone familiar with Beatles history would have known that this was nonsense from the moment they mentioned Paul doing rope tricks and standing behind plants while playing. Those not familiar with the details of the Beatles first appearance on Ed Sullivan but who _are_ familiar with Hall of fame Basketball player Wilt Chamberlin (the _God of the Beatles)_ would have seen right through this joke at that point. There was however one moment that I believe, without a doubt, to be totally true --- one of the ladies said that Dogs followed her around because of the _fish smell emanating from the bucket_ which she had been keeping her hand in for decades --- it is my belief however, that this odor was _not_ coming from the bucket --- the source of these odiferous codfish-like emanations was likely week old, clammy, detergent neglected underwear which could not be properly removed or cleaned using only one hand.
I was in the front row at a Beatles gig once in England, and during a break Paul came down and said could he borrow my wrist watch i said of course and he took it and jumped back on stage and that was the last i saw of it, bitter sweet really as i lost my watch but Paul took it. Anyway the show ended and a guy came up to me and said Paul would like to see me back stage so of course i said yes and lead the way. So after a few minutes we arrived at Pauls dressing room and he greeted me in and said sit down would you like a cup of tea so of course i said yes......so he made me a great cup of tea and we sat down and still no mention of my watch. Anyway after 5 minutes Paul said would you like a jam doughnut, so i said yeah why not and he gave me a plate with the doughnut on. I then took a bite of the doughnut and what was in the middle?.........you guessed it .........JAM 😂😂

My aunt was there..My mom grew up with the Beatles,Ccr,Rolling stones and the four seasons etc.Its too bad my generation has autotune,rap shitty boy bands that will never match up to them.Many kids my age will never be blessed with blues,rock-pop,classic rock and 60s pop.
